Where can we raise a huge stink about Trespasser not being released for PS3/360. When the game came out in November they did not state that PS3/360 will not have access to all DLC. They need to release it or refund the money spent since they sold an incomplete game that does not have complete compatibility.

Hmmm, to get a platform release on a platform without the power to run the DLC

and when BioWare have already advised that (regrettably) it won't happen.

'raise a stink'

ok, not that constructive, and how does raising a stink address the technical issues exactly?

I'm with you that it's a shame that this has happened.

In hindsight I question the 360/PS3 versions to start with, but you know hindsight...

OR is this a refund play (no that's not going to happen) or just to share anger?

And new poster kudos  B)

They sold you a complete game. And now they're selling more content. If they could, I'm sure they'd put Trespasser and Descent on the last gen consoles, but those machines will literally melt. Would you prefer that everyone gets hamstrung dlc, instead of some people getting what most are calling a really good dlc?

Sadly for you guys the decisions been made and it doesn't seem like the corporate bean counters are going to revise it.
It seems the best you can do at this stage is to buy it on sale after getting a new system.
Origin has had some pretty good sales and with Christmas coming up I would think current gen versions will be heavily discounted.

If they're smart, they'll do an Origins style ultimate edition in time for Christmas and you guys might have it balanced out depending on pricing.

Good luck though.

TBH im still amazed they released DAI on the 360/PS3.

512mb RAM is just too out of date to do anything on.......even 4GB RAM is low spec these days.

Regardless of the technical reasoning, I am very sad it won't be released on 360 and PS3 since it's the most impacting and important DLC in Dragon Age so far, as well as an epilogue to the game. It really sucks not to be able to play that. At least the next game won't have that problem.

To the technical challenged (that's me), what was Bioware's reasoning for excluding PS3 and XBox360 from receiving the latest DLCs?

Then what was the point of selling it to the 360/PS3 if the last two DLC's were Xbox one and PS4 exclusive including the EPILOGUE of the game?

It would be better to rebuy the game USED so as not to give Bioware double profit for buying the game on two systems.

By 2019 when DA4 will likely be released, the next-gen consoles will be long in the tooth (6 years old). I wonder if DA4 will be playable on next gen consoles, but be unable to run new DLC?

Allowing people to play the base game (the one they paid for) on 360/PS3.

It might be valid to note that they didnt know they wouldn't be able to release the last two DLC for 360/PS3 when the game was released.

The stink was already raised. You missed the stink. They announced no more DLC for older consoles back in July.

There will be some very pointed questions I think when the next game is announced so we know exactly where we stand before the game ships.

A lot of features that they wanted to include in the later dlc would never have worked on the older systems. Bioware had already stripped out a number of features such as truly destructable enviroments in order to allow for the base game to run on older consoles.

The enviroments in Descent alone probably would have given my 360 fits. And Trespasser sounds worse in that regard.

It sucks, and I doubt anyone at Bioware was truly happy about it.

And if they just don't make the game available for current gen? That is depending on what Sony and Mircosoft do.

This.

I can say (as someone who originally bought the 360 copy, and ended up upgrading to the xbox one for Trespasser) that while I don't feel there is any difference between the 360 and xbone base games (they look exactly the same to me, minus a few extra details on some objects) - I also understand why the regrettably did not release the last 2 DLC for 360/PS3.

Descent was the largest dungeon they had crafted in the series.  Think Jaws of Hakkon, where you could go to the highest mountain, jump off of it and land at the bottom of the lowest ravine.  You could do that in this, as well... though the game automatically teleports you back up if you fall too long - even if there is an actual floor you can walk on below you.  IIRC the map in JoH said there were either 2 or 3 levels of verticality.  There are 6 in the Descent.  All populated with an obscene amount of (and depending on where in the story; infinitely spawning) Darkspawn, giant spiders, and other various enemies.  Personally, I really didn't have too many issues with my 360 version (actually, to be brutally honest, I've had more problems on the xbone copy so far).  JoH, I had none as well.  However, a lot of fans have complained (mostly on this site) about all of the issues they were experiencing with their last gen versions.  Many fans had gone on asking Bioware why they would release a game on the last gen consoles if it 'could not run' on them.

I actually feel like, from my experience, Descent and Trespasser could've run on my 360 just fine... but given the enormity of the outcry from people about how "unplayable" last gen systems were following the original release of the game; I might've been one of the few who didn't end up with a burnt out machine.

Because if your system couldn't handle vanilla Inquisition at its most taxing, your machine would definitely burn out halfway through the Descent, and there would be no way you'd finish the final boss of Trespasser (or probably even get there) without crashing.  And imagine the outcry you'd be having if you paid $15 for the DLC and you couldn't complete it because of that.

That would have been the best solution in this case so may well be the best solution then too. As long as people can make informed decisions before purchasing.

On PC I'll be wanting to know that any DLC isn't going to be console only exclusive.

I don't want to offend somehow, so please try to explain to me one thing I do not understand.

The game released a whole year after the next gen consoles were released. I knew that the game probably wouldn't be really good-looking, stable or supported that well for the old gen, just like with the last transition from PS2/PS3 for example.

Why not try to save up some money and get a new console before the initial game got released? I sure don't know everone's financial situation, but a year at least seems enough time to save a little each month.

It's just like it was a little obvious beforehand that the better experience would be on newer machines.

Nobody cares about the inverse, so why should I do the same? So, given that the actual ending of the game is DLC that last-genners can't get, I say 'yes'.

This is why the devs shouldn't try to hide the fact that they screwed over last genners

Short answer: Because I was told it was available for the console I already had.

Long answer: I had the money saved up to buy a new console before Inquisition came out. Unfortunately shortly before the game's release I got some problematic medical results, had a cancer scare, and ended up spending everything I had saved for the new gaming system plus a whole lot more on the pile of medical bills the whole thing generated. I didn't have time to start saving up again from scratch before the release, so I thought all I'd be sacrificing if I bought the game for my current console was some graphic quality.

So no offense, but the "why didn't you save up money?" which shows up whenever this is discussed stings a bit. Everyone's situation really is different. :)

And then everyone would be complaining about how awful the dlc was. It's a no win situation.

The ending of the game was in the game. Nothing in this DLC has to do with

Spoiler

This is all about setting up the next game.

It sucks that you can't play it, but please don't pretend that the game itself didn't have an ending, because it did.

Right, I'm just imagining that the ending left more holes than exist in the average block of swiss cheese.

The base game freezes the PS3 I play on now (among other problems), plus I heard multiplayer can be a nightmare on last-gen consoles, and honestly the graphics make me a little sad. So I guess I don't mind as much? _(:3

Still a sucky "what if" feeling though

Wonder what it will be like for the current next-gen consoles when the new game is released. Of course, the ideal would be to get a nice, proper PC but for some that's really out of the question!
