Can you catch him? I just assumed it was just part of the Game and a common thing at noble parties in Orlais.
*POOF* "Okay, who trained that bard? They are doing a terrible job, but I suppose I best ignore it, we all started somewhere."

You have to do it five times to get the full reward (schematic). And yes, sneak up behind. If you spot it at enough distance it's possible in some of the places it appears.

It was an harlequin? I could never figure it out, I just saw the smoke.

Wondered this myself. Found her (him?) about 6-7 times I think, between different stops back at the palace. But never got anything to trigger or had anything happen.
It seemed really buggy in the beginning too. I got the quest in the middle of talking to Blackwall.

*blinks* Okay, well that... I happened to stumble across one rounding a corner near the crafting stations. Suddenly I'm told I caught a harlequin with no other explanation and that was it. I honestly don't think anything happened other than the fact that I was told I caught it, unless something got plopped into my inventory that I didn't notice. Really, I wouldn't waste time on it.
Until I read your OP, I didn't realize it was a thing we were supposed to be trying to do.
ETA: Welp, per posts written while I was typing this, I guess there is a reason to catch it. I never saw it again after that first time, though.

+2 dex each time. Unique schematic on fifth and final time.

Ooh, sweet
I'll bear that in mind in a couple months when I have another Inky ready to run through it. Thanks.

Is it a good schematic? Damn, I thought it was meant to be one of Solas's spies ![]()

EDIT: OK, I'm convinced the damn thing is bugged and that it should really be a KN weapon, but the game is accidently setting it for Warrior Only.

I think I ran into this three times. The first time, I saw a bunch of birds flying away and I think the Inquisitor said something, but I wasn't paying attention because I wasn't expecting him to be talking, so by the time I was listening it he was done. The second time I walked up to a group of three people, and suddenly one of them disappeared again. I didn't get a good look at what it was. The third time, I saw a harlequin and thought "wait a minutes...those things tried to kill me whenever I saw them" and then it disappeared.
I thought the first two times it was part of the plot, like showing the Inquisitor going a bit crazy, or a manipulation of Solas or the Qunari. Interesting...

Crafted the schematic and messed arround with it a bit. It's under staffs and looks like KN hilt but is warrior only. You get a cool elemental effect for the blade. Seems fairly useless as the damage is low but it's elemental dammage (bypasses armour) so it might actually be useful.
Honestly don't think I would use it on a KN anyway (staff like damage but melee range auto attacks). Encore is pretty much the new best mage weapon anyway, similar to Staff of Lovias, but better materials and a unique effect.

I knew about the dog bones for constitution and the picture straightening for strength (and there was a +6 cunning boost that came from somewhere and I still have no idea how that happened), but this is news to me. Maybe all the stats have minigames, and when you get all 10 points, you get a prize. I found all 10 dog bones, so I got the wasp's nest weapon, but I didn't find all the pictures, nor did I even find out what I did to gain the cunning bonus.

EDIT: OK, apparently you also get 6 Cunning for placing a top hat on a skeleton in the starting area of the Crossroads, lol.

OK... now I'm confused - the schematic is listed under Staff so I assumed that it was a KE sword (as it should be) BUTTT the damn thing gets put under the One-Handed Sword category when its crafted and its for Warriors Only.... what the crap?
EDIT: OK, I'm convinced the damn thing is bugged and that it should really be a KN weapon, but the game is accidently setting it for Warrior Only.
I don't think so. I think it is the reverse of the KE sword. KE Sword is a new sword for KE, so it is only fair that warrior que a staff for them. It is amazing indeed *_*

There's also the firework before the end , when you're at the palace at night.
You need to make them fire and explode and you get points. After a while I got + something magic and some schematics.
I don't know what the schematics was though.

Oh, thanks for telling this. I was wondering what those fireworks were.
Off to look for save!
