Actually, I was wondering if there's a way to be wearing one armor, but have it display another? That way I can have the stats of my crafted armor but the looks of the Sentinel Plate. I was just about to look into Cheat Engine to see if this is a thing I can do (I'm a fairly recent PC gaming convert, so mods are still a little new to me).

Thanks!
That's so late in the game, though.... I wish there was a schematic. I mean, it makes the most sense, story wise, for that to be where you pick it up. And it's super cool that they added all this new stuff to the game, so I'm not complaining! Just kinda wish I could use the Golden Nug with it!
EDIT: Went and opened an old save and picked it up, so I can confirm that's the War Table mission it comes from. If anyone is interested in the stats, it's Mage only, need to be level 15 to wear it. 232 Armor, 11 Magic, 11% Melee Defense, 6% Stagger on Hit. And you can put a Sigil on it. So, significantly lesser than crafted armor by that point in the game. But it looks so cool!
With the Golden Nug you can craft better as soons as you reach Haven xD
But at least it is pretty cool *_*

Yes that is possible. In Cheat Engine, you'll need to use the Inventory Editor.
It helps to have your game in windowed mode, because DA:I doesn't seem to like repeated alt-tabbing.
Just to be on the safe side, I would recommend changing the armour you are already wearing, because changing it may change whether it's light, medium or heavy and you might not be able to equip it. Unequip and re-equip it, and you should see the Editor populate with the name of the armour you are wearing. Tick the box next to change and paste the path of the armour you want to change to.
For Trespasser they'll be
Bownammer Plate: DA3_DLC_Blue/Equipment/NewArmors/dlcblue_equip_armor_heavy_1p_legion
Disciple's Armor: DA3_DLC_Blue/Equipment/NewArmors/dlcblue_equip_armor_heavy_1p_reaver
Sentinel Plate: DA3_DLC_Blue/Equipment/NewArmors/dlcblue_equip_armor_heavy_arcane_warrior
Alchemical Rigging (says "light" but it's actually restricted to Rogues): DA3_DLC_Blue/Equipment/NewArmors/dlcblue_equip_armor_light_1p_alchemist
Robes of the Forbidden School: DA3_DLC_Blue/Equipment/NewArmors/dlcblue_equip_armor_light_1p_bloodmage
Dalish Robes: DA3_DLC_Blue/Equipment/NewArmors/dlcblue_equip_armor_light_1p_keeper
Griffon Robes: DA3_DLC_Blue/Equipment/NewArmors/dlcblue_equip_armor_light_1p_westhaupt

You may have read it somewhere else, but in case you haven't the sentinel armor comes from the operation you get after the temple of mythal called "research the well of sorrows".
I must be missing something because I've just finished the Arbor Wilds, and no such war table mission has appeared. Come to think of it I don't think I've ever seen it in any playthrough. The wiki says all that needs to be done is finish What Pride Had Wrought, which I have, but no war table mission as of yet :/

Thank you so much for the tip and instructions. After a bit of fumbling around, I managed to get it to work, and it's fantastic! The tinting carries over and everything!
So excited for my next playthrough!

I got it to work, but since I want to wear the Reaver armor on my Rogue, when I change my medium armor to the Reaver armor it gains the "Warrior" restriction and I can't wear it anymore. ![]()
I think I have a mod installed that removes armor restrictions, but maybe it hasn't been updated for Trespasser content yet.

I think you have to have the Arcane Knowledge perk, and use that conversation option right before deciding who drinks from the well.
I just did the end of the Arbor Wilds twice, the first time using the arcane knowledge option before choosing, and second one not. The operation only showed up when I used the perk.

Yes, i had the problem trying to wear the arcane warrior armour with my rogue. Just make sure you are currently wearin the armour you want to change from when you use the change function in cheatengine. If you want to change it again to something not medium, you'll need to unequip it, change it to medium armour of any kind. Save and re-load, equip the medium armour you have now and change it to the new armour you want.

Oh, I see what you mean.
When I changed the armor, I was wearing it, but it only showed up as the Reaver armor in the inventory screen, not on my character.
I'll try it again though and see what happens. Thanks!
EDIT: When I went to a different location, the armor appeared! Hurrah!

Glad to see it worked. All you need to do to make the change appear is to change the location. You can do this by moving area or by saving and reloading after changing the item.

It not location but refreshing the memory block which done via two ways, save and reloading or loading a new map.
