Ok, there does not seem to be a video tutorial for this part on YT yet so here I am, asking for help for this part...

Ideally I'd like to save the dragon but I can't figure out how to :/ I've tried this battle already 3 times, I must be really stupid.

First I tried rotating the rings, even without a clue where/how to rotate them. It wasn't working. Then I figured out you gotta open the gate first. I open it and Cassandra says "now we can rotate the rings!".
So I go rotate them, but the dragon keeps moving and attacking me, and I have no idea how to put these rings. Besides while I was moving them I noticed that the gate got closed again? :S And the further right of the devices keeps saying that the device is stuck, no idea why.. Plus the bigger ring doesn't move D:

Anybody can share some light, please? XD I really don't want to kill it. I keep moving around spamming disengage... :/

dont bother with the gate yet itll just close over time

 

theres a cart to the right destroy that first (saves time later) using your new hand power

 

theres 3 switches to the left and right of where you entered rotate them till they face the gate or you hear the "now to open the gate" quote 

 

now go to the switches either side of the gate and enjoy your cut scene

Thanks so much for this topic and the solution, I could NOT figure out how to destroy the cart and I want to save the dragon, too ^^. Now I know what to do and hopefully manage before my party members kill the dragon by accident, heh.
