I'm trying to unlock the Lateral Thinker achievement and I'm on the clue that says "When the Dread Wolf's gaze is bright, light burns in a ring of the dead."

 

Obviously, this means that a veilfire thing lights up somewhere. But where? I've been all over this island that this statue is on. The eyes don't light up long enough for the veilfire to be on a different island.

 

Second one, there's a mirror in this level that leads to another Archivist across a chasm. Anyone know how to get across it? Every time I try, I fall.

The ring of the dead is not on the same island as the statue. It's kinda tricky getting to it in time: basically I used the tactical view to place one party member by the statue while another one stays right next to the eluvian. Once I light the statue I switched back to the party member by the eluvian. That way i had enough time to get to the braziers to get a torch. 

 

Don't know about the second one.

A light pops out of the statue and lights to torches right above it. Then it goes down behind it into the mirror. You need to follow the light back through the mirror. Once back in there, there will be a circle of veilfires around a statue. You can pick up one of those, and then go back through the mirror and light the veilfire torch. You can open the puzzle box after that.
