My NWN2 has suddenly been unable to correctly generate minimaps. Instead, the minimap appears to be a distortion of the loading screen for that particular area. The Area Map still works just fine. This happens to me across different servers, so I don't see how it could be a server side thing.

 

 

Any ideas?

Have you had any recent graphics driver updates? Even if you haven't updated them yourself, they might be set to update automatically in the background. Newer drivers won't necessarily be fully compatible with a game that's nearly a decade old.

That could actually be it. I don't 100% remember, but this may have happened when I installed Windows 10 and the corresponding drivers.

I started having the same problems with the minimap in May.

 

I have Windows 7 Pro x64 and NVidia 770gtx, and it turned took a while to figure this out, but the problem was with the newer nvidia graphics drivers.

 

So far the only way that I've been able to fix this is to reinstall the older drivers, and Nvidia drivers version 350.12  (4/13/2015) is most recent drivers that seems to work for me.

 

If someone else has a different solution, please let me know.

I have Windows 7 Pro x64 and a NVidia 760gtx.

I updated my drivers from 345 to 355 (the August release, which is the most recent one listed for me). Rebooted and loaded a new campaign of MotB. No problems with the minimap.

Running Windows 10 with an Nvidia GTX 970 with up to date drivers.

 

I don't suppose there's any hope of contacting Nvidia about this, is there..

There are some NVidia hints here for NWN2. Not sure if they are still relevant, but they might be worth a try.

 

GeForce has a NWN2 web site where they imply it supports the game. You could try posting to their community forums.

I'm running Windows 10 with an Nvidia GTX980 & 355.82 drivers with no problems.
But I did install the game after I had Win 10 installed.
If your NWN2 installation is carried over from a previous operating system, it might be worth uninstall & reinstalling.
I've fixed graphics problems with a couple of games by doing that.

For whatever reason, a GeForce driver update has entirely fixed this problem for me. Maybe they figured it out.

I confirm. Last GeForce driver 364.72 seems to have fixed the minimap issue. I'm running Win 10.

I had this problem for like a year, it came up after a certain update of my GeForce drivers, but as of last update it's been fixed; I run Windows 7 of course. On PC however, not sure how different things are on MAC.
