I didn't see this suggested in any of the recent threads, so I'm going to leave this here.

Trespasser lists "level 20 or over" as suggested level for players. I think this should be raised to at least suggested level 25.

I went for my first playthrough with my level 27 dual-wielding rogue tempest Cadash. I know some adjustments have been made to tempest recently so she's not going to be the powerhouse she was before, but it was still a pretty big struggle to get through some of the areas, especially towards the end of the DLC. I only leveled up once (to 28), and there wasn't a noticeable difference from the previous level in terms of damage/ease. I had my butt handed to me by enemies that I should have been breezing through, and the end boss fight was almost impossible (I died so many times I lost count).

It might be a class issue though. Playing the initial first areas with my level 25 rift mage seemed to go easier/more like I expected. I haven't gotten all the way to the end with my mage yet, but she definitely dies less than my rogue, despite being a lower initial level. This is with the same party makeup both times (Dorian, The Iron Bull, and either Sera or Varric depending on mood).

No use to those who have already started/played, but possibly just something that can be tweaked in future updates.

Yeah. So I went in as a level 20 mage... I had to lower the difficulty and use every supply cache to get through it. I'll make sure to be a higher level when I go through it with my other inquisitors.

I went in at 23 and survived, but it is rough. Much cheese was required (KE still got it).

I went in at 22 and no real cheese needed. Some revival though =).

It scales, so why would raising the expected level help?

Possibly giving the player some new armour in case they were cruising in rubbish stuff might have been an idea, though. The Quizzy I chose had killed a bunch of dragons and thus had some good stuff, but I worry for my others who are wearing some rather random stuff because the base game isn't tough enough for it to be worth optimising.

you are doing something very wrong because it bored me to death ._.
I love Trespasser wholeheartedly but difficulty is not a factor by any means.
Wild guess... you don't have your main party with fully tier 4 (schematics and materials) crafted?
DAI completely ignores level, it is all about equipment. Once I used cheat engine to keep me level 1 and finished the game with an archer because of the crafted equipment. Missions should have EQUIPMENT level instead of character level.
Also Rogue is the most fraile class I played, perhaps it is hard for rogues in Trespasser (played a Knight Enchanter and a Champion so far, ridiculously easy for them both)

I went in at level 24 and gained 2 levels while there. I always do my first playthrough on Normal because I don't know how hard it's going to be and I felt the challenge was appropriate. Most of the time, I ignored the potion caches, but the only time I even considered leaving combat for one was in the battle where your companions are keeping the qunari animal handlers busy while you're trying to free the dragon. Apart from that, I found that one of the squishier companions (usually Varric) would take one or two potions in a boss fight and that was it. My party was well geared in T3/T4 crafted armor and equipped with T3/T4 crafted weapons. Party composition matters, though. I was playing a weapon-and-shield Templar with a tank build, so he drew the aggro and spammed Blessed Blades while Bull, Varric, and storm!Dorian hit them with massive DPS. Before I found The Skin That Stalks, everyone in the party was wearing Guard on Hit armor. After I found the armor, I put that on my tank (he's generating plenty of guard with his abilities anyway), and we cleaned house. I was using FT Plush Fustian Velvet (Hidden Blades) in everyone's masterwork weapon slots and FT Hardened Gurn Hide (Immolate) in Maxwell's shield masterwork slot.
