So I am going to try the EH again for the first time in forever.  I'm not sure which evolution is more effective.  Assuming they both set up tech explosions I would guess Cryo would be more effective due to the debuff, but I'm not sure if Cryo sets up like Snap Freeze does (any target) or if it only primes shieldless mooks.

I know I know, BH is far superior and I agree, but I wanted to give it a go for fun.

Cryo Ammo only primes on unshielded mooks, and even then it takes several seconds to apply.  They are not primed until they are 100% frozen and falling over.

The Chilled effect though can apply to anything, even through shields, so that's somewhat useful.

Chill by a landslide. The fire effect adds a few hundred damage over 5 seconds. The 20% debuff from chill is essentially prox mine in melee form with both rank 5 evolutions (damage taken and slow). Even a follow-up headbutt would immediately surpass the fire DOT. It's not so much that the fire effect sucks but the chill evolution is just really good. It's the best reason to use electrical hammer because the biohammer is just so much more damaging up front, even vs shields.

Radius, chill, radius. Always. Never bh. It's ability to stun all localised threats while killing one, makes survivability easy work.

I went with the extra shield/barrier damage on rank 4 but same otherwise.  I'll probably mess with it but I think 6m is pretty good and the 75% shield/barrier damage is kind of nice.

None. Use Biotic Hammer instead.

^^^ Agreed. I skip it cuz enemies on Gold laugh at it.  Other wize...when i do use it...I go with the fire evo...& setup a Silver solo vs Geth just to get rid of the challenge points.

I guess I'm a sooper-hipster, because I go with fire.

I mean, burning stuff... what more defense do I need?

Well... I do like to mention that AoE DoT actually adds a lot to damage/offensive output, if you use it properly. Building a KroLord with EH/Fire and then playing him the same way you would with BH is only going to reinforce mistaken assumptions about it. And then there's the whole "math on paper doesn't take in-combat factors into account" and all that jazz...

It doesn't matter if Biotic Hammer is better or not.

If you want to use Electrical Hammer for the challenge, then I recommend this build: http://kalence.drupa...24Q56364!F.8E8L

BH might do more damage on a single target (unless someone primes it for BEs) but EH devastates groups of enemies.

Interesting. I take radius over shield damage, myself. From what I've been told, the bonus to shield damage is applied after the melee damage, so at least on targets in the HM effect the shields will already be gone by the time that damage would apply (obviously it still has full effect on any remaining targets outside the aoe of the HM.)

I had considered taking radius at first but 7.2m instead of 6m practically makes no difference because you shouldn't ever be in a situation where you need to hit enemies so far apart at once. If you do, then you're standing in a wide open field and deserve to get shot in the face. ;)

Wow, for a sec I thought this was a Dark Souls weapon I missed and that I was on a DS forum. Then I remembered BioWare thought whips in the far future wasn't enough. Stone age hammer are the most OP thing to bring in a fire fight of epic galactic proportions.

I take the chill effect, mainly for the damage boost. I also skip passives and spec into both hammers. the increased radius and shield damage works well against a geth gang of doom, plus I always have the option of switching back to Biotic Hammer when I have to deal with armor or barrier.

Also, I find that this guy is best played like a drell on higher difficulties - hit and run, baby, hit and run.

I am now imagining krolord doing backflips and cartwheels and whatnot.

It's a highly amusing picture. Also, highly disturbing.
