I finished the Trespasser with my male human templar Inquisitor in about 11 hours. I nearly explored everywhere, though missing some minor elements like some collectible things. After that I don't purely love or hate this DLC but have a complex feeling. Here are my thoughts.

What I like:

1. The tricks on gameplay and combat. This is the best part in Trespasser for me. I love the trial options, items with new mechanisms and the second upgrade of abilities. I even played the whole DLC with all trial options active, friendly fire and nightmare difficulty. With the super items I got before, I don't think the battles in Trespasser are difficult. But they are with much more fun. And I am highly encouraged to start a new playthrough with all these improvements!

2. The gorgeous remnant of Vir Dirthara. In my opinion Bioware had done well on this in all three DLCs. And I start to think that the Titan, the Fade and the Vir Dirthara may have the same origin. There are something similar in their structures. I think the next step is to make the environments more dynamic.

3. The answers to some big questions and the hint of future. I got some information of the ancient elven empire and gods. Although most of the answers were hinted in previous games, books and comics, hearing them directly from a guy who was there and responsible for big events is kind of epic.

And the hint about future events -- It looks exciting but that also depends on how the next game is. And the end of DA2 we knew the total war between templars and mages were breaking out, but in DAI the war was going to end. In Masked Empire we knew about the civil war in Orlais, but in DAI we never truly saw that. The lack of presentation leads to the lack of emotion resonance. I hope in the next game we could see the epic moments with our own eyes.

4. The music, especially when I meet Solas.

What I dislike:

1. The plot. I even hate this! I don't know the terms on writing so I may not explain clearly but I will try my best.

First, I feel that the events really, really need some building of connections. It's like gears without lube. Abrupt. Suddenly Orlais and Ferelden are going to dismantle the Inquisition. Suddenly I go through the eluvian to investigate the Qunari, with the Divine in my party. The exalted council suddenly begins and suddenly recesses and suddenly ends. Suddenly my hand is going to explode. Suddenly I am going to fight against Solas. I am not saying these events are not reasonable, but without some explanations they seem to be unreasonable. Imaging that if in DA2 there was no cinematic transition between Acts.

Second, the lack of tension. I'm deciding the fate of Inquisition! I'm being hurt by the anchor! I'm investigating the Qunari! But I don't feel urgent. I have time to watch an opera, enjoy a spa and celebrate the birthday of Bull. I can leave the exalted council at any time, possiblly with the Divine, and come back. The rulers of Orlais and Ferelden dont dare to face me (I know this must be because they can be different people, Celene/Gaspard, Anora/Alistair). It looks as if no one cares about the council except the Duke and Teagan. The Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts had done much better on this. And nobody outside the Inquisition cares about the Qunari threat and the eluvian because we are covering the news. But why not letting others know? Does Halamshiral belong to the Inquisition now?

2. The deviation from the trailer. In the trailer it was like the Qunari is invading, and the Inquisitor is getting furious. But in the actual game I found that this Qunari action is not even approved by the big three of the Qunari. And they were not directly invading, just infiltrating. I also failed to find the option shouting like Alix Regan. I could not just say "F**k you! The Inquisition remains autonomic." but could only join the Chantry or disband (However I still understand this is to reduce the variation in future).

3. The cinematics. I will give two examples here. When I watched the opera with Josephine, the camera only focused on them. I had no idea what they were watching before she asked me how I thought. How could I express my feeling when I actually saw nothing? At the end of the council I walked in and then "blah blah blah", but ... I had an arm missing and the audiences just had no reaction??? Am I insane or are they insane? WHY DID NO ONE NOTICE THAT? HOW COULD NO ONE TALK ABOUT THAT?

4. Some glitches. I had Celene, Gaspard and Briala reconciled, but Teagan said Gaspard sits upon the throne. This is the most serious bug. Also there are two other issues here.

At the end I have some comments on the desserts. I am not one of those who cried for 'true ending of the story and companions'. Actually I love Hakkon DLC. So this part is not my very dish. However I appreciate most of the further interaction with the companions, as well as the marbari and Sandal, and Cassandra's aside during the credits list. It is kind of fan-service but I don't object to it. I just wish the narrative is not secondary. The road is long and I hope we all embrace a bright future.
