I may be mistaken, but aren't all the decent items locked until you cross a certain threshold of chests looted/bought for 2000 gold...??    That means that your first $20 is burnt up and you need to lay down $100 plus to even qualify for the real goods!!

I didn't spend any money on Platinum,'cos I somehow disabled Origin overlay and no matter I do,can't enable it.

And that is good thing,'cos RNG in this game is a real biatch.Playing since Day 1 and still didn't get Bow of the Griffon and got Caliban and Sulevin only when already had waaaay better weapons.

Maybe I am fooling myself,but RNG in ME3MP was much kinder to me,'cos I got BW and Javelin in some of the first paid chests.

Hmm.  Let's see. 2000 gold equates to 150 platinum for the large req chest.  13.33 g per platinum.

 

$30 equals 3300 platinum (there are other ratios, but that's the middle tier, so I'll use that) which works out to the equivalent of 44,000 gold (22 chests).  1,466.66 gold = one dollar

 

Four matches in an hour at a around 1,200 a match.  We''ll just be generous and say 5,000 gold an hour.  You would be making about $3.40 an hour.  Not that great, but I agree it would be more fun than my day job!  

 

You would need to make almost 11,000 gold an hour to get minimum wage, while getting less than a dollar per match you played.

1250 gold is about what you get for getting all the gold on a perilous mission.

 

So I set up a team of farmers and complete the perilous matches in about 12 minutes each

 

Everyone then earns 1500 plat/hour

 

At 300 plat for 2.3 euros I would make 11.5 euros/hour for playing dragon age

I actually have bought platinum once too. When the class chests came out first and I didn't have lots saved up. I got some decent value out of it actually, finally got a Superb HoK ring and didn't feel ripped off.

 

 

Same here except I got nothing of value out of it. 

 

I said at the outset that I wouldn't blow real money on random chests.  The class chests were at least slightly targeted but ultimately still random.

 

On the other hand I have happily spent over £200 on Warframe Platinum.  80% of which went  on cosmetic items.  

 

The big difference on in-game equipment in Wf is that while all equipment is available without spending real money you can bypass the time taken to acquire it. Without buying, what you get on a run is random but the Drop table is per location so you know where to go to get the stuff you want.   Or if you want it now you can buy exactly what you want from the marketplace.

It's a 150 platinum for a 2000 gold chest now, has been for awhile.  They devalued gold, and increased the value of the platinum respective to chests  

 

Looks like platinum is a little more expensive in the UK as well 23.99 GBP for 3300 ( Roughly $35)  only $29.99 in the US.  Maybe you could buy platinum on a US server and sell it on a EU one for a profit?

Meanwhile, I've gotten fifty of those.  Never had a Sulevin Blade, and only a level 12 Caliban and Punched by the maker.
