How does this weapon / power combo create nightmare combos? (Or so I understand, from posts in other threads.)
Can someone please explain the virtuoso's Heart of Pride / Mark of the Riff / Power Chord nightmare combo to me?

The staff will put everyone around you in a "shocked" status. I believe Luke said a 4m radius. The upgraded Mark of the Riff will weaken enemies within the radius. Weakening enemies that are shocked will put them to sleep. Upgraded power chord is an eldritch detonator which when used on enemies that are asleep will produce a nightmare combo.

Aaaah, thank you, very nice explanation. I admittedly did not look at the upgrade to the 2 powers because I wasn't aware they were necessary for this to work. Power Chord's upgrade does not explicitly state that it is an eldritch detonator, so I never would have figured this out on my own.

The tip off is visual. On all detonator abilities, there's a little star/dot mark on the top of the diamond. Take a look at all your detonators, and it'll be there.
