Hello!
First, this probably goes without saying, but there are SPOILERS in this thread.
So there's been a few comments about Trespasser DLC in this section of the forum already, but not quite a thread like this. I'm gonna start by saying that I'm quite critical usually about, well, most things, including Bioware games. There's stuff I like, and there's stuff I dislike, and I can be quite vocal about the latter. But sometimes it's worth being vocal about the things you really, really love and enjoy and treasure. And I've made this thread with that intention in mind (i.e. there are things that I do dislike about the DLC, but I really want to emphasise what I liked). Y'all know this is just my opinion, right?
So: here's the thing - I adored Trespasser.
- I loved to get to meet our companions again, to spend time with them. The conversations we had were often very funny, and often deeply moving.
- I loved exploring all the gorgeous, gorgeous environments - in the extended winter palace, as well as all those gorgeous worlds we saw in the eluvians.
- I loved the vast quantity of lore we discovered - exploring different parts and pieces of elven worlds and history, as well as getting to know different parts and pieces of the qunari, and learning more about them and their plans.
- I loved the storytelling - the pacing was excellent, the tension built up wonderfully, it progressed in such an interesting direction, and by the climax - wow.
- I loved some of the challenges our new opponents - the qunari - gave in combat, and I loved the challenges the boss battles presented in this game (even if I died three times just trying to figure out how to free that damn dragon).
- I absolutely adored the climax and conclusion of this game - the final confrontation (or reunion) with Solas was everything I really wanted. A very special thank you for Patrick Weekes for writing such a moving scene for the Inquisitors who romanced Solas.
- Finally, I loved the very end scenes - particularly the exciting big knife-shaped hint pointing in direction of Tevinter.*
- P.S. Cassandra in the credits =

- FORGOT TO ADD: the music was just mind-blowingly wonderful. Stunning. Lovely. All the positive adjectives you can think of.
More than anything though, I found Trespasser, as whole, immensely enjoyable and just damn great to play. All of these elements meshed together really well, and all around, it was just a real pleasure, honestly. I had fun - I laughed, I cried, I was in awe, I was intrigued, and finished feeling, well... almost sad that I'd finished such a great game, like damn.
You all did a fantastic job with Trespasser. Thank you so much.
*(Tevinter Inquisition for DA4 please, yeah?).
