Hello!

First, this probably goes without saying, but there are SPOILERS in this thread.

So there's been a few comments about Trespasser DLC in this section of the forum already, but not quite a thread like this. I'm gonna start by saying that I'm quite critical usually about, well, most things, including Bioware games. There's stuff I like, and there's stuff I dislike, and I can be quite vocal about the latter. But sometimes it's worth being vocal about the things you really, really love and enjoy and treasure. And I've made this thread with that intention in mind (i.e. there are things that I do dislike about the DLC, but I really want to emphasise what I liked). Y'all know this is just my opinion, right?

So: here's the thing - I adored Trespasser.

  • I loved to get to meet our companions again, to spend time with them. The conversations we had were often very funny, and often deeply moving.
  • I loved exploring all the gorgeous, gorgeous environments - in the extended winter palace, as well as all those gorgeous worlds we saw in the eluvians.
  • I loved the vast quantity of lore we discovered - exploring different parts and pieces of elven worlds and history, as well as getting to know different parts and pieces of the qunari, and learning more about them and their plans.
  • I loved the storytelling - the pacing was excellent, the tension built up wonderfully, it progressed in such an interesting direction, and by the climax - wow.
  • I loved some of the challenges our new opponents - the qunari - gave in combat, and I loved the challenges the boss battles presented in this game (even if I died three times just trying to figure out how to free that damn dragon).
  • I absolutely adored the climax and conclusion of this game - the final confrontation (or reunion) with Solas was everything I really wanted. A very special thank you for Patrick Weekes for writing such a moving scene for the Inquisitors who romanced Solas.
  • Finally, I loved the very end scenes - particularly the exciting big knife-shaped hint pointing in direction of Tevinter.*
  • P.S. Cassandra in the credits = <3
  • FORGOT TO ADD: the music was just mind-blowingly wonderful. Stunning. Lovely. All the positive adjectives you can think of.

More than anything though, I found Trespasser, as whole, immensely enjoyable and just damn great to play. All of these elements meshed together really well, and all around, it was just a real pleasure, honestly. I had fun - I laughed, I cried, I was in awe, I was intrigued, and finished feeling, well... almost sad that I'd finished such a great game, like damn.

You all did a fantastic job with Trespasser. Thank you so much.

*(Tevinter Inquisition for DA4 please, yeah?).

I just saw a Let's Play all the way through and it seems well worth the 15 dollars but I'll probably wait until a sale, ha ha.  That DLC was quite an undertaking.

Is there a better DLC?

Oh yeah, thanks BioWare.

I haven't played it and don't even own it yet so I'm not very qualified to comment, but it did make me return to DAI, complete my abandoned playthrough and move on to JoH. I like it when extra effort is put into wrapping up a story.

Me too OP!   <3

Well, the only thing I disagree on is that I don't like the difficulty spike, (particularly with hordes of Qunari mobs and the extreme difficulty in saving the dragon. If players choose casual, that's probably a sign that they don't like excessive difficulty), but otherwise I 100% agree.

I love the story and character content, I adore the final meeting with romanced Solas, and I can't wait to see the story continued in DA4!  :wizard:

(Come on, they must make a DA4. If the Dragon Age franchise could bounce back after DA2, they've got to continue DAI's story!)

This should have been the proper ending in the main game, instead of a $15 dlc.  Corypheus was seriously coryphishit to quote sera.

Overall I liked this DLC.  I didn't bother with Hakkon or Descent.

It was outstanding. The story filled the environment, no wasted space. This is exactly how future games should be crafted (just like DA:O was), and ditch this whole open world thing.

This DLC was better than the game itself.

That final scene with female levellan and Solas was simply amazing!!! Just that alone was worth the price.

It's a very rare thing when a video game brings a tear to my eye.

Well Done Bioware! :)

I also offer my thanks. Bioware claimed Trespasser wasn't going to be Solas the DLC, but that's EGGSactly what it felt like to me. The lore dump was so exciting for my Lavellan. The music was powerful. The combat was intense. I meant to play it slowly, but I ended up doing it in one mega sitting because the story had me enthralled. I'm looking forward to more of the same in the future and the elven glory I surely have coming to me.

Also, I'm tickled pink that Zaalbar was here! What's up Big Z?

You deserve all the likes in the world just for the bolded word! haha

I will add to thanks! Loved, loved, loved Trespasser!  Thank you, Dragon Age team!  <3

Well worth the $15 it cost.
Also, in addition to the writers, gotta shout out to the cutscene animators and planning - especially at the end with Solas. So well acted. Voice, writing, and actions. *thumbs up*
It was amazing. The whole experience. I found the combat overly tricky at times but this is because I have never figured out Cole's build and will insist on bringing him everywhere (It was solas and cole at one point :'( ).
But as an experience... yes. So much yes.
It was wonderful; thank you.
