On that note hopefully ME:A doesn't follow the DA:I method of both genders sharing the same hairstyles. Female player characters in DA:I had maybe two or three choices that weren't some variation of bald, shaved, or balding. It is also resulted in a good number of the female NPCs, who were created in the character creator, having very masculine looking hairstyles or even male pattern baldness. (Da fuq? on that last one)

Some androgyny is fine and fits certain characters. I thought it suited Clarel for example, and Krem of course. The majority of Orlesian royals and noblewomen? Uh...not so much.

Yes, please bring back gendered hair options, there can be some overlap in the two but I don't want a half dozen variations of the same hair cut

Yep, Tomb Raider definitiive edition used it, as does the next TR game (where the hair looks insane and is worth the price of the game alone) and Deus Ex is using too

That was 2.0 IIRC, 3.0 is in Deus Ex. It should also be usable on grass and potentially cloth. Given DICE's relationship with AMD, I sincerely hope that ME:A a late 2016 Frostbite game will be using it.

I have to say, I would probably not buy a game based solely on the quality of its hair.

Mass Effect, Dragon Age... Hair hasn't been the best in either series.  It's something that really needs an improvement.  Mainly just to mix up appearances between everyones protagonists.  They all start to look alike, especially when you're really only choosing between three or four good ones.

I just feel like the hair keeps getting worse with each new game. They take away options and look like plastic helms in most cases; then they put in a bunch of basically "bald" choices and expect us to be happy. I don't understand how this happens. Bioware knows we want hair. there are always hair threads--always!

What title says, I'm super hyped for this game especially since I'm huge ME fan but God I hate hair we had in this game, ugh!

So plz, super-duper plz plz let us have actual hair in this game and not what we had in previous ME games or what we had in DA:I, God no especially no what we had in DA:I, we don't need another 7 shaved/bald case again in here.

I'm not asking for long flowy hair that is gonna make some macho-kid happy, I just want real hair that is all and I would suggest BW to take look at EVE Online's hair, they have pretty amazing futuristic hairstyles that wouldn't cause clippings or problems to be made:

(Side Note: Also, before I forget to mention other little issue I hope we won't encounter in this game is plz I want normal eyebrows as well and not DA:I case, I think we all had cave-man eyebrows monstrosity for lifetime!)  :)

For even bringing up EVE Online, you're aces in my book.

THAT's how you do character creation. Like I've been saying, I want long, gruffy hair for guys too, and 3d modeled beards with more variety.

Not sure Eve is a good example of how to do a CC given what the characters actually look like outside the CC and ingame wandering about the ship.

That said I completely agree more hair is needed.

Not fussed about long hair either.  The illusion of long hair is fine, buns and up do's show your PC has long hair without it having to billow majestically in the wind.

I can't really understand why some people are against long hair in character creation. It could be an option to choose if you'd like it for your character, if you don't think it fits your character then don't choose it, no one would be forcing it on you. It's like saying "I don't like it so no one should have it", it's a mindset I just don't get.

-sigh- people plz read.

I never said anything against long hair, I said that I don't demand long hair as MUST HAVE! Because I know BW usually doesn't make one because of clipping and because hair appears to be their biggest enemy in here. Other reason why I said I don't demand it is because back in DA:I forum players...correction macho-kids b*tched about Cassandra only because she had short hair and because macho-kids think that someone can't be called female if their's hair is short. So once again I repeat for sake of people finally getting it I would love to have long hair option but I'm not demanding it as MUST in game because I will be more then happy with short hair as long as it is actual hairstyle and not DA:I hair no hair case!

And if some people still don't get it then I'm not bothering explaining anymore, it is not my duty to teach someone to read before posting their comment.

Yeah I was seriously disappointed with especially hairstyles that so called Orlesian nobles had.

I mean back in DAO Leliana used to tell us how Orlesian's would always have some crazy-hair xD I seriously hoped we get to see some seriously strange hair among Orlesian nobles that Leliana described, however sadly they had same hair as we did that was plain and that didn't lived to Leliana's story(not that what Leliana described was normal or tasteful hair, but it was something I could imagine clowns like Orlesians to wear, even hair we had in DA:I seemed too normal for Orlesian nobility to wear  ^_^)

I just want hair that moves.  DA, ME, and SWTOR all share helmets in various haircut shapes that might shift a little but nothing that looks even like a yarn wig much less hair.

While they're at it, maybe they could give us decent lighting in the CC so we can tell what the heck we look like, maybe even a light switch we could walk to to see how we move and change from bright to dim.  (Hey, I'm dreaming.  I might as well dream big!)

OP You forgot you're playing a BioWare game. The hair will suck. I'm sorry but that is just a simple fact. Even if they manage to make it look like actual hair this time it will still consist mostly of mullets and bald heads.

My post wasn't targeted at your original post, I can read thank you very much. It was merely a comment about posts I've read -not from you- in a lot of threads, including this one, from people who don't even want it as an option.

Since you are here OP don't forget to ask for better make-up options. My Femshepard wanted the good Rimmel for her eyes and not the sub-par products they seems to give us in the character creation tool, she is an exigent woman.

LMAO

Yup I think I said somewhere in one of my posts that hair appears to be BW biggest enemy lol

Still doesn't hurt to hope.....and hope....and hope....and hope....again and again and again that someday day manage to slay that enemy known as HAIR!

LMAO

My male Shepard wanted to have pink lipstick with glitter to match his pink armor because he wanted to be more fabulous then he already is, he also wanted L'Oreal shampoo because everyone knows that Shepard The B!tch is worth it...........sadly BW went against idea because they feared that so called she-males of ME universe will eat them alive if they make male Shep more fab then he already is, since male Shepard is way more fabulous then any of these ME she-males = 3=

I believe someone at Bioware said they were looking at Character Creators like EVE Online's and Black Desert's, so maybe we'll have a CC like that in future games, especially now that they are making them solely for current gen consoles and PCs.

As long as there's more customisation than in the original trilogy it's all good with me.

They need more updos and buns and normal short hairstyles in general.

This is a complaint that I have about hairstyles in pretty much every game ever. They're normal, they're practical, they're usually fashionable, and they work if you have characters who wear helmets and hats and similar headgear. And yet game designers appear to hate implementing them.
