Considering they were talking about how they wanted more modern hair that people today would wear.....I think they were talking about this year(2013-2014) most likely.

As I said it is one of older....first actual video that showed how CC of DA:I looked like and one of comments was that they were looking for hair that people of today would want to wear.

I've asked because the result is more 80's style. Or just very very early 90's. I think I have seen some of those styles a lot when I was a kid in Supercar, Beverly Heels 92010 or others shows. (and let's remember in Italy many TVshows came few years later than when those were made)

I believe some would like to use those styles. To make revivals or cosplay of old 90's-80's characters. But I can barely count one style (the one half long-half shaved with the braid) as modern (and it have male balding pattern too.). The others are the classic marines styles, and felt ripped off ME.

Overall, it was a stupid thing to do anyway. People don't want modern styles in a fantasy setting. They want viking styles, LotR styles, and cute and elegant, old style braids.

I hope for ME BioWare will look at what people REALLY like to wear as hairstyles. They just have to go to the first hairdresser (if google "hairstyles -2015/2016 whatever-" is too hard) and ask for the megazines hairdresser have to keep updated with the last trend. Those magazines are quite full of ideas.

I don't care about styles (any short cut will do nicely) nor variety, but I want high quality options even if that means having a reduced selection.

It's sad how all the work that they put in fancy "next-gen" texturing and shading for the faces gets thrown out the window when they end up putting some nasty PS360 style hair on top of it, if you're going to have the same blobby hair that other games were shipping with in 2006 you might as well not bother with superhipermegaduper-realistic skin shaders and all that jazz, just spend the time doing some thing else.

Same for cloth and other soft-body dynamics.

If Crytek could manage that level of consistency in 2013 it does not seem unreasonable to ask Bioware for something similar in 2016.

And inb4 but RYSE is linear this will be an open worldish RPG:

Spoiler

I dare go far as saying that even ME had better hair then DA:I did and this comes from someone who absolutely hated hair in ME.

I would not say that are better, since even in ME I couldn't find a decent pixie style or good short style for my female characters, something with a more modern look (the only one is the default FemShep haistyle, that for some unknown reason couldn't be used on non-def characters, like to punish those who want their own characters and not the pre-made one.).

But at least there are decent chin-lenght hairstyles and no male balding hairline  big positive step from DAI.

Give me a head with hair, long beautiful hair
Shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen
Give me down to there, hair, shoulder length or longer
Here baby, there, momma, everywhere, daddy, daddy

Hair, flow it, show it
Long as God can grow, my hair

Let it fly in the breeze and get caught in the trees
Give a home to the fleas, in my hair
A home for fleas, a hive for the buzzing bees
A nest for birds, there ain't no words
For the beauty, splendor, the wonder of my hair

Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow, my hair

I want long, straight, curly, fuzzy, snaggy, shaggy, ratty, matty
Oily, greasy, fleecy, shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen
Knotted, polka dotted, twisted, beaded, braided
Powered, flowered and confettied
Bangled, tangled, spangled and spahettied

Oh say, can you see my eyes if you can
Then my hair's too short
Down with here, down to there
Down till there, down to where it's stuck by itself

Your Honor, I object!

A CC that can't create decent hairstyles, let alone facial hairs, is hardly the "best Character Creator". And, here, lies FB3's design weakness.

It's either that or Bio hired temp art students.

Face-wise, DAI has the best character creator I've ever seen, but hair-wise... *shudder*

It'd be nice for the hair to actually flow, and move with the movement of our character as well as environmental effects. Much better than being completely frozen in time.

Long hair for male and female protagonist FTW

Yeah that's what I'd like to see as well we know it can be done on this engine as the new Rory McIlory PGA game does it with the hair although the customisation is as bad if not worse than DAI's it shows it can be done. Also with the long coats and armours with those butt flaps blow in the wind as well in DAI that mages/rogues wear so Bioware can do it I think. I admit there have been clipping issues but I'd rather have the odd clipping issue than a bland lifeless helmet head. Besides I think with enough time with the tech they'd master how to deal with that anyway.

Yep, Tomb Raider definitiive edition used it, as does the next TR game (where the hair looks insane and is worth the price of the game alone) and Deus Ex is using too

Indeed the nwe TR looks really good with it too looks like they've done moer work with it too as it definetrely looks better this time around compared with the 2013 game when they introduced it. Looking forward to the nwe TR as well  another reason to be excited for 2016 along with MEA. I say that as I'm going to wait for the PC versoin rather than getting the XB1 one. Mostly because I prefer a mouse/keyboard interface for playing games like that due to my disability.

Ran out of likes that's just to funny. A Laura Croft ponytail would be nice or this hair here loose side ponytail.

They better should!

Because seriously it is embarrassing as hell to have game that you don't pay anything to play like 'Black Desert' with best CC ever made and amazing graphics to boost for free!

While you have on another side game that is going to cost 69 again only to get 'no hair case + caveman eyebrows + sideburns + WTF beards + plastic quality of it all'.

So to have this kind of hair and quality of graphics in game you pay nice amount money to play...

Spoiler

Vs having this kind of hair and quality of graphics in game in where you don't pay a single green paper to play....

Spoiler

Is as way beyond even embarrassing!

Actually this petition is for them to give as actual hairstyles, short ones ain't problem, lack of actual choice of decent hairstyles is in here.

Agreed I've not played Black desert but there is one called Skyforge that I've had a go at which is quite cool. The hair in that is very good. It moves as your character does. There's also the option of wearing dangly earrings and that in it as well which move as you do as well. I'm not asying they need to go that far maybe in the casual clothing it maybe an option but not when in battle obviously.

The hair needs to improve and react to what your doing and the environment around it as well especially if your not wearing a helmet or anything. Becasuse it is getting tiring seeing helmet headas all the time in games. They made a good first step I think in DAI in that your armour reacts to what your doing and the environment as the long coat armours and buttflap  armours (lets call them) blow in the wind. They need to expand on that with the hair I think and give us more options for hairstyles as well.

I don't remember Kai leng's hair moving tbh. Morrigan's in DAI does I've noticed but that's as far as I've seen them go and of course if you'er playng a female Hawke with one of the longer styles your hair moves a little as well but they do need to expand on this a bit I think and of course give us a few moer options either way lets just wait and see what Bioware come up with. As i said in my above post they have made some positive steps with DAI and now they'er going fully next gen the question now is can they build on what they achieved with DAI to make MEA better? I'm confident the engine can do it but how far will Bioware go. We need better hairstyles at least even if they don't take it any further but hopefully they will because now they're leaving the PS3/360 gen behind theyshould have more resources to pump into delivering a solid next gen experience with MEA.

I don't care as much about in game hair improving but what if there was a pre order bonus where there was some actual hair in the game box, like anything from a few strands on up to a whole mustache or wig, we could put it on and pretend we're the player.
