Okay, to get it out of the way, bad news first.
The only thing I really disliked about Trespasser was the difficulty spike. I've heard the devs say in interviews that they know different players play for different reasons, and part of the reason for the combat difficulty meter is so that fans who aren't that into combat or mostly play for the story can kind of "blow through" the combat to get to the story and characters.
Trespasser kind of undermined that by hiking up the difficulty and including a LOT of dungeon-crawling, maze-exploring, waves upon waves of incredibly difficult Qunari mobs (for me), not enough supply caches per Qunari encounter, etc.
Generally, if players have the game on casual, they don't want to be burdened with excessive (required) difficulty. =/
OTHERWISE? I LOVED THIS DLC! ![]()
I LOVED reuniting with and hanging out with our companions socially.
I LOVED the tragic and heart-breaking, yet vaguely hopeful reunion with a romanced Solas. (So heart-breakingly beautiful!)
I LOVED Cassandra's narration in the closing credits. (SO funny! And just what I needed after all the emotional turmoil!)
I LOVED the closing letter to the fans after the closing credits! (About how Dragon Age was a labor of love, it would never have gotten this far without so much positive fan feedback, thanks for all the fan art, cosplay, jokes, encouragement on social media, etc. It was so touching, and melted my heart.)
That said, the closing letter after the end credits saying that Dragon Age would not have gotten this far without fan encouragement, and the devs generally expressing doubt that they will even make another Dragon Age game worries me. ![]()
Come on, BioWare! Make another DA game; I believe in you!
Come on, EA! Let BioWare make another DA game; we'll forever love you!
If this franchise can bounce back after DA2, and ME can bounce back after officially ending the "trilogy" with Shepard, you guys can make another DA game! ![]()
