Do all companions in your party say goodbye? Romanced Cassandra was the only one for me, but maybe I clicked the mirror too fast.

Yes all say goodbye even not romanced say something. I get it play on PC. You get the dialogue wheel pop up with 4 options one is "I love you" so probably 3 if no romance in party.

I've seen people say they heard the final goodbye/I love yous, but couldn't trigger it on a reload. (I didn't have this problem on a PC.)

You will know this is coming when you've had the cutscene with the advisors and your hand flares up uncontrollably and they watch helplessly. It will be night time at the Winter Palace with fireworks going. THAT is when you go through the eluvian for the last time and someone in your group will say, "Leliana told us what happened with your hand." And then the LI in your group will comment on a variation of "don't tell me I'm going to lose you." This is the final goodbye dialogue.

(I don't know if Cullen or Josephine have a final goodbye for the LIs. Haven't seen videos on those two yet.)

WHAT IS THIS MYSTICAL SCENE? This didn't trigger for me! I'm going to reload my save. Is it based on approval or...? :CCCCCC

I'm on thhe PS4.

For me Varic started this scene (party Varic, Bull (romance) and Tom) same moment as in video.

No, you're supposed to get it no matter what. It looks like this may be a bugged scene for some players, not sure why. Here's a video of the scene with Blackwall. I posted the ones with Dorian earlier in this thread under a spoiler tab if you want to look there, too.

Spoiler

JUST A THEORY, but I'm seeing a few people say that changing the order of their party before zoning helped.

Thank you. I had no idea what it was supposed to happen. I got nothing. It might be a bug. I'll try with another character although I did like that when the mark was acting up, Iron Bull specially acted concerned (not a LI) so it made me feel more tense~

Hm yeah on 2 playthroughs with 2 different characters I never got that. I'm pretty sure when I went through my inquis was just like: lets stop this before it goes too far

Or something along those lines.

Must be bug.

I got it on one playthru but not on my second so it is a little buggy.

I had no idea. I've done 3 playthroughs on PS4 and have never seen this! :( Hopefully it can eventually be fixed.

I didn't get it on PC either. I had a big problem with banter starting too early after clicking eluvians, resulting in my inquisitor and companions being in the middle of conversation when areas of the crossroads loaded fully and missing half of what was said. Very annoying. Maybe these are related.

I did a few tests, and that banter started like 4 times out of 10. Which is a shame, because the goodbyes with the LI are so poignant.

I got goodbyes from Iron Bull, Cassandra, and Sera the first time.

I did not get goodbyes from Varric, Vivienne, and Blackwall the second time.

Hmmm...

I never got this either... didn't even know it was a thing! Must be a huge bug.

I missed it too on both of my playthroughs. (ps4)

I did notice that it took awhile after going through an eluvian before the rest of the party arrived. Might be the cause,

0) Enter the Crossroads for Darvarad;

1) It's probably bugged;

2) It only triggers for me if I have Cole in party;

3) When you exit the Winter Palace, DO NOT MOVE! Wait until Cole speaks, or it bugs again.

The point is, it's not a good-bye we are used to, when you can talk to everyone you recruited. This is only for those in your group who accompany you in the very last mission. And it's very brief, without special cut-scene or anything - just a couple of lines.

Wow, that explains a lot.  :blink:

I never got a goodbye either, but right after the fight with the Saarabas ended, the game kind of paused/glitched like it wanted to do something, but then nothing happened. The characters just stood there, and nothing was happening, so I just went right through to talk to Solas. I thought it was weird that my companions weren't coming with me. Not even a "I have to go alone," "But why?", "Because that's the way it's done," "Well... if that's the way it's done, then that's the way it must be done," exchange like in Labyrinth.

Those goodbyes would have made so much more sense.  :pinched:

This is bugged for me too. It either doesn't trigger at all, or it triggers very weirdly, for example my dialogue options showing up without anybody saying anything. Nobody mentions anything about the hand. I've tried mixing the companions and their place up, but it doesn't seem to change anything. I did get it to trigger once with Cassandra and Dorian in the party, but when I reloaded and used the same party I couldn't repeat it.

I'm on PC, so so much for the PC master race.

Out of curiosity, can people please state what they play DAI on?

I played on PS4 and didn't get this on 2 characters, not tried my third yet.

It worked fine on my PS4. With Dorian, Iron Bull and Cassandra

You guys are refering to the banter where for instance Dorian is really sad coz Inquistioner is gonna die, and complaines that "I knew you would break my heart" etc?

I'm on Xbox One, and it did behave a little strangely - I got it the first time with Dorian (LI), Sera and Cassandra in the party, reloaded to hear it again and got it again, then continued the game ... then went back to that save later to hear it again and - nothing. Reloaded a few times with the same party, still nothing.

I'll try again later with the same party in a different order or a different party, see what happens ... but yeah, it seems to be a bit hit-and-miss. :/

That's not when it happens. It's when you exit the Winter Palace for the Crossroads for the final time.

Worked fine for me. Had Dorian, Cassandra and Cole in the party.

It's very short though. And it's not before meeting Solas, it's right after entering the Eluvian from the palace to the crossroads.

When you exit the Palace eluvian at night to head to the Darvaarad it happens right outside the door.

I play on xb one and I got it with Iron Bull, Cass and Sera the first time when I was romancing Bull.  He was so sweet and luckily did not go all qun on me later.

I played it again on a different inky and got it with Cass, Sera and Blackwall.

I really thought it dumb that at night you couldn't find any of your companions to talk to before heading off.

PC, didn't get it. :( Tried with many party members. Mwheh. Maybe it's related to the banter bug?
