The fact that there is an health bar with his name over make me wonders if at some point, during the development cycle, they might have planned to give you the option to fight him (maybe they were also going to stop the fight before you could kill him) but then they scraped it.

Yeah, that he exists as two different entities in the same stage suggests there is programming for more than just the conversation, Interesting.

Imagine if one of the original concept choices was indeed fighting him, and then in order to defeat him, you had to wait for your 3 focus bars to max out on their own, get close enough to him which would trigger a cinematic of you two exploding in a flash of light as the Anchor consumed both you and Solas.
That would of been perfect.
