I was trying to tell Billy and Blar how to remove them on the stream today, but I don't think they understood.
If you find them annoying do the following in game:
Hit the button on your platform that corresponds to viewing your team. For Xbox that is the "view" or select button.
Once you close the team menu the portraits will disappear.
