My main shep is paragon I want to stay with ashley for the series and I was wondering if by being nice to your squad mates leads always to romance. I want them to become loyal. So my main question is can you be REALLY nice to your squad but stay out of a romance by saying something like this isnt right without pissing them off and making them less loyal. Just a question.

There are pretty blatant dialogue options to begin a romance, so unless you think being nice means flirting with everyone, you're pretty safe.

I shut Jacob and Thane down with one conversation choice, didn't need them mucking it up for Garrus and I.

It seems to me that some of the romance dialog is a bit quick starting and ham-fisted this time around. Not terrible by any means, but it's way too easy to give the wrong impression. I've mostly taken to selecting neutral options with the opposite gender.

I think the ham-fisted-ness comes from the complaint that it was way too easy to lead the LI along in the first game by just being generically nice. By adding things like "Lets keep it offical" and "I'm not interested" early on it allows you to end that sub-plot before it gets to far along.

Heck even after I teased Garrus with "Blowing off some steam" I still could tell him "I want to be friends" later.

Ya, I'm being really nice to the male squad mates (my shep is male) and being neutral to nice with the female squad mates. Is there a male on male romance because Jacob is seeming like he is coming on to me. Hes cool but Im sticking with ash.

My Shep had sex with Ashley in the first game does that mean that shes my romantic interest in the second? Id rather him end up with Kelly but I dont want it to screw up things for the 3rd game.

Valid point. I can't argue with that. I imagine, like the bear's porridge, the romantic plot in ME3 will be just right. :P

Ha. I felt the same way. Now he's really short with me though. Not sure what I did. Maybe I told him to shutup once, and agreed with Miranda (because she's hot), and he got his panties in a bundle.

True. I want everyone to survive the last mission. Miranda is hot but I feel like Ash was a more fleshed out character. People had issues with her personality but I didnt. She made some valid points and ther were some good conversations (ME1).
