So what happens if I don't take the fort in Ferelden, do no Forces operation, give Cullen no agents and invest everything in Conenctions? Do Fereldan still say **** about Inquisition? (probably gonna use cheat engine to check these)
Good Question.

It's rather funny to see how nearly all people will vehemently oppose dictators and tyrants as the PC, but look what happens when the PC is the bully. Cause that's what the Inquisitor is... a dude/gal who waltzes into some place and enforces his/her will because he/she can.
Yeah, the dislike for Teagan definitely smacks a bit of PC-centered morality. If our positions were switched, I bet our PCs would be clamoring for the Inquisition's removal as much as Teagan is.
Though it doesn't help that the poor guy got hit with every branch falling out of the Ugly Tree. And that HAT. I think Vivienne might have lost her lunch just looking at it ![]()
Of course they are representative of the order, they were both Wardens, the last ones in Ferelden. They were where they were due to Duncan a very Wardeny Warden. They enacted official Warden treaties, they stopped the blight due to the Warden's ability. Everyone in DA:O referred to them as Wardens and considered them Wardens. I have no clue where you can base that statement on.
The crown ignored the Wardens (lead by Duncan) about the true threat of the oncoming Blight and not only did the Wardens stop the blight but they saved Ferelden from Loghain, something Teagan and Allistair should be especially supportive of... so yeah the hostility towards the Wardens despite Ferelden only existing because of the Wardens is quite odd.
Oh sure they have Warden abilities and treaties but they were so detached from the organization. They had no connection to the chain of command and no connection to the Order's politics and culture. The HoF was literally a random person who survived the Joining and marched across Ferelden with GW treaties. To say that the actions of such a person puts the entire order above reproach is ludicrous.
look, i can forgive him for talking **** about my inquisition, but it's UNFORGIVABLE to talk **** about the grey wardens.
who saved his damn village? who saved his brother, nephew and sister-in-law? who killed the archdemon? who's the goddamn king of ferelden? yeah, all the answers are: GREY WARDENS.
he can hate the inquisition if he want, but offending the grey wardens is enough to kill him
I didn't understand why the inquisition hadn't previously disbanded after defeating Cory. We weren't needed anymore, and Cory seemed kind of like a one time threat. I understand it's difficult to break down an organization of that magnitude, but I didn't understand why we weren't in the process of doing so already.
So I kinda get it. Plus I understand why Ferelden gets a bit touchy about outside forces occupying their lands. Hasn't gone that great in the past.
I didn't get the Warden comment that everyone seems so angry about because I exiled them.
Plus now he has a funny hat.

Uh, all the hundreds of Rifts around Thedas and High Dragons?
Maybe that?
Remnants of the Venatori?
It's not like Corypheus' army vanishes either. You have to get rid of all that Red Lyrium and Templars too.

I thought the ranting about the Wardens was out of character, considering his King is one and Redcliffe (and Ferelden itself) were saved by a Grey Warden,
Teagan makes some good points really. The last thing Fereldan wants is another war. Their resources must be running low.
Although I do wish my inquisitor could ask how has dancing lessons are going. Leliana could have told our Inquisitor about his dancing skills.

Just because they are wardens does not mean he can't criticize the organization that has caused alot of fiascos over the ages, which have done massive damage and do I really have to remind you what those wardens that can join the inquisition did?

Or to add what sophia dryden did as well. Its amusing most people are objecting because how dare someone question our PC. I personally really enjoyed this DLC as it had everything i felt was missing from the series, choice and consequence, semi intelligent characters and a legitimate threat.

I wonder how Teagan would feel about them if he was actually privy to some of the serious sh*t being a part of the Warden order actually entails. We as the player get to know everything, but most people in Thedas are pretty much in the dark, though I have a hard time believing that Alistair wouldn't once tell Teagan what it takes to actually become a Grey Warden, as if he's obligated to keep it to himself at that point. But then, it's Alistair, so he probably kept his mouth shut for some reason.
Hmmpf. Anora has opened a massage parlour in all of my world states because I never ever let her rule. -Never-.
I mean, he views the Inquisition as an extension of Orlais/the chantry (particularly with the divine being a former inquisition member). And the fact that Cyril de Montfort and the Orlesian noblity are actively trying to bring the inquistion under their belt kind of validates that. (And remember, the Chantry justified and enforced the Orlesian occupation of Fereldan -- it is very much an Orlesian entity). Fereldan is still weak from the blight AND THEN Corypheus's nonsense. Can't really fault Teagan for his anger management issues at the council.

I think it's less PC-centered morality and more hotness-centered morality. If Bann Teagan was still as handsome and charming as he was in DAO, he could be a hundred times worse, and I'd just be like "look at all that belligerent sexual tension, Teagan, you scamp." As it is, I now totally hate Bann Teagan and his stupid monkey face.

C'mon that's straight up PC-worship.
Dorian is a Tevinter patriot who helped the Inquisitor stop Alexius and Corypheus, does that mean I can't talk smack about Tevinter?
Iron Bull is a Ben-Hassrath spy who also helped stop Corypheus, does that mean I can't criticize the Qunari?
Bull says it best, he hates the 'Vints but he doesn't hate Krem. Krem is one man. I'm sure Teagan loves Alistair and the HoF, but that doesn't mean he has to ignore the Wardens' less than sparkling reputation.
Hmmpf. Anora has opened a massage parlour in all of my world states because I never ever let her rule. -Never-.
Really, where is it? In the fade?
You do know that if she doesn't rule she's dead right? lol
He was rather harsh, which is very much in-character for him. It was just a bit startling being at the receiving end of his ire, especially since my first meeting with him in DA:O ended with him implying that he'd like to marry my Warden literally five minutes after meeting her.
Tis the hat. Do you think he wears it to hide a receding hairline?
Tis the hat. Do you think he wears it to hide a receding hairline?
I'd have preferred a receding hairline. I didn't think any piece of headwear could up-ugly the ridiculous tin can Solas wore at the Winter Palace, but Teagan's hat is an abomination in the eyes of the Maker.
The thing is, it's not Teagan. You can find a letter from Alistair/ANora that shows that they are the ones who are telling Teagan what to do, Teagan is just a the messenger who is probably grumpy because he is aging badly and Redcliffe always attracts ****. It's Alistair/Anora that have a stick up their ass. He also makes very good points that sadly many gamers will ignore since the average gamer mindset is rude to my character=THAT PERSON IS A DICK
Yup. But he still is a dick about it... I went with the full intention of disbanding the inquisition since its mission was done, but he makes his points in a way that is just ungrateful given that both the inquisition and the wardens did a lot for him... I don't ever remember Loghain being a dick, he had his bad points and his good ones but even when ruling with iron fist he was a diplomatic guy.
And you don't get more ferelden nationalist than Loghain.
Really, where is it? In the fade?
You do know that if she doesn't rule she's dead right? lol
She was merely imprisoned if she was desposed of. Now, I can imagine that ten years later Alistair wouldn't feel the need anymore to have her locked up so she must've found herself something to do.
I thought the ranting about the Wardens was out of character, considering his King is one and Redcliffe (and Ferelden itself) were saved by a Grey Warden,
Wardens...wardens. Say aren't they the ones that tried to unleash a new army of demons in the middle of the crisis? And the ones who released Corypheus from his prison? Well I can't imagine why anyone would have a bad thing to say about their organization.
Tis the hat. Do you think he wears it to hide a receding hairline?
He wears it because his hair model is in not in the game so Bioware covered it up like most characters who wear headgear.
