My mainShep will have EVERYONE make it, he just has to. He's so Paragon is hurts sometimes, though its a good thing hes Renegade when specifically annoyed or angered at injustice. He's a big diplomat.

My racistShep will only focus on Miranda, Jack, Jacob, Zaeed, and Legion (as a slave) to survive. Tali (he hates Tali...), Garrus (doesn't mind him, yet hates turians as a whole so hes rude), Thane, Samara, Grunt, and Mordin will all die for all he cares. Of course, if they make it then *shrug* whatever.

My femShep is kind, and will just adore characters like Jacob, Legion, Tali, Garrus, Thane, Samara, and Mordin. But... she snaps at the slightest disrespect so Miranda, Jack, Zaeed, and Grunt will perhaps be left in the dust.

I've only done Horizon last night so I have a lot to do :P

*I HAVE NOT DONE THIS YET*, but.. I'm just guessing what my choices will be :) :

Vent: Legion. Maybe Tali. Probably Legion <3

Team leader: Garrus or Jacob or Zaeed

Biotic: Samara. That whole part reminds me of LOTR for some reason. Very magic-y.

Team leader part deux: Miranda, but don't know for sure

Crew helper: Jacob, but don't know for sure

team for taking down final boss: Legion and Jacob(or Miranda).

Do I leave someone behind to hold the door?

I literally have my game paused right now awaiting an answer. I refuse to go back to another save again. Please anyone?

I sent Mordin in through the vents (stupid decision) and he was BOOM headshotted. Then somehow Miranda was dropped during the final stand. I'm still not sure how that one happened.

Squad: Legion and Grunt the whole mission

Vent: Mordin (KIA)

Team Lead: Garrus

Biotic: Jack (she almost didn't make it)

Team Lead 2: Miranda (KIA)

Escort: Jacob

Everyone else made it besides those two. I upgraded weapons, armor, and shields for the Normandy and I did every loyalty mission but Samara's. I didn't do any personal upgrades to my knowledge. I was quite shocked when Mordin died...it was sad. I felt very little when Miranda died however...

Party members: Garrus / Miranda

Vent: Legion

Team leader: Jacob

Biotic: Samara

Team leader part deux: Jacob

Escort: Grunt

KIA : Mordin
I'm fine with his death though, since I know I couldn't do anything about it. Karma's a ****!

Just finished first try.

Garrus died, sent him through vents, got headshotted while closing doors.

1st team leader: Samara

Biotic: Samara

2nd team leader: Miranda

Mordin died holding the line, so did Chakwas and rest of the Normandy crew, did not send anyone to escort them. :( The ship is so empty now.

Am going to give it another shot and hopefully get everyone out alive. Aside from that I tried to go for a spectacular finish by shooting a nuke at the big robot, but it dodged at the last second :(

Well, my suicide mission was successful, but two of my members died.

Mordin - KIA
I was sooooooo devastated. He was my favorite character of ME2; him and his singing.

Tali -KIA
I hope the fanboys are screaming now because so did I.

Everyone else managed to pull through.

I'm screaming. Call me a Tali fanboy. I almost fell out of my chair with a heart attack when we killed the final boss. The platforms were coming apart, Tali fell, and especially since she was my RI, I was practically biting my fingers off. But, in a move that saved her life, and my heart exploding, Shepard saved her.

I didn't lose anyone except for my Mordin as well. I was sad about that. Mordin was one of my favorite new characters, so my Normandy will be much emptier without him. I've heard a lot of people are losing their Mordin's as well. Wonder why that is? Maybe he's just not suited to frontline combat.

Lineup -

Vents: Mordin (KIA closing the door.)

Biotics: Samara

Team leader: Grunt (Because I didn't want to give Miranda the satisfaction of leading the team like she wanted.)

Team leader part two: Jacob

Escort: Jack (To get her the hell away from me.)

Personal squad members: Tali and Legion (Because I wanted those two to live the most, and I figured my Shepard's awesomeness would ensure their survival.)

With full loyality you have a lot of choices.. in theory.

Team Leader 1st pass - Garrus - Guys coming with me Tali and Grunt
Vent guy - Legion
Team Leader 2nd pass - Garrus
Biotic - Samara
Guy that walks back - Mordin
Last attack group - Tali and Legion

0 Losses

When putting Thane in Vent he died. When putting Tali in vent, she died (so that was no choice since she is my fav ;p)

This seems to be related to whom you choose to come with you in the first attack as well. On that playthrough i had about 95% of all upgrades and full loyality..

Garrus is a former General so he is the best choice for team leader - of course, 0 loss strategies probably are possible in more ways, if you have full loyality for everyone.

Haha, and at above me, how odd is it that of all the characters in the game we choose the same ones at the end fight? ;p They are my favorites as well. If only because its such fantastic irony to have Tali and Legion fight against a Reaper with shephard.

I had everyone survive on my first playthrough. Jack and Thane were not loyal.

Tech - Tali (wrong tech or not not loyal => tech dies)

1st Team Leader - Miranda (doesn't matter - no one dies anyway)

Biotic - Samara (wong biotic or not loyal => biotic lives but squadmember of Shepard's squad at the time dies)

2nd Team Leader - Miranda (wrong leader or not loyal => leader dies)

escort crew - Jacob (doesn't matter as long as person is loyal)

squad on the last part - Miranda and Grunt (persons who are not loyal die)

sometimes one of the defenders can die while you are fighting the human Reaper. This happens when said teammember is not loyal and deaths have occured before.

I am fairly certain that Loyalty and who you choose is not the only thing that matters when it comes to who dies where and when, and if at all. When i choose Mordin not to go back, he would die at all times in the 2nd squad part.

Maybe the game is even considering how you lead dialog and what you said to people, but i am guessing its also something to do with the equipment you have unlocked...

Well that part is very flexible though, one of the better ideas i have seen in a rpg ,p

By the way, if you led Jack on the renegade path i wonder if Miranda is such a good idea... ;p

I took Jack in my squad because she objected to Miranda as a leader.. ;). But if Jack is already dead when you land on the Collector base (because you missed a certain ship upgrade) then Garrus will complain about Miranda being the leader.

Loyalty is a definite reason for the specialists and team leaders to die or not. It's just the very last part very it's not clear who survives. I think the last part is determined by whether people have died on the parts before or not.

First Playthrough - All members were loyal (Zaeed patch not installed) and ship fully upgraded.

Chose Thane to infiltrate vents and thus died to a rocket in the face.

Chose Miranda to set up a Biotic field thus couldn't save Samara being collected by seeker swarms.

Chose Mordin to hold the line with the rest and died because he was too fragile.

Kinda a downer! So I went back. Thane died, everyone else lived. Was satisfied but decided, what the hell, go and do it again.

3rd time everyone survived. Yay life.

Thank you Bioware for creating an interesting set of choices. I'm seriously pondering how to enter ME3 - everyone alive or some dead...decisions decisions...

First playthrough,

Tech - Legion (died)
2nd Leader - Miranda
Escort - Grunt
Biotic - Jack

Everyone survived except Legion. Everyone was loyal, or so I thought until I read some forum posts. Seems Miranda wasn't loyal after me siding with Jack during their fight. I didnt have enough points to use paragon on her. Think this is the reason Legion died.

Second playthrough
Tech - Legion
2nd leader - Garrus
Escort - Mordin (I think)
Biotic - Samara

Everyone survived and I made sure to have everyone loyal before doing the final mission. I did do some changes in squadmates as well between the 2 playthoughs, but I dont know if that counts.

My second play through is going to be my goal to have the most people die. Least amount of loyalty.

Mordin as Tech Specialist

Probably Thane as team b leader.

And Unloyal Samara as biotic so she gets someone on my team killed.

I'll try to make myself survive so i can import my play through on ME3 and see the reprucussions.

I'll probably have no one escort those bast...ds back to the ship and i'll only upgrade the shields for the ship.

For me, no casualties. :)

Tali was my infiltrator, it was either her or Legion, but Tali's smaller, so I assumed she'd have an easier time in the vents. Doesn't matter, but still.

My squad leaders were Garrus and Jacob, cause Miranda was on my team the whole time.

Biotic specialist was Jack, I dunno, she just seemed more badass to take than Samara.

Crew guard: Grunt. Why? 'Cause he's GRUNT.

Everyone was loyal, so no one died in holding the line.

Also, I went to the base as soon as the crew was abducted, so I didn't lose any of them either.

I really didn't want any of my crew to die, they were too interesting for that, even Gabby and Kenneth.

First and second Paragon/Renegade playthroughs: Everyone survived.

Current third playthrough: As many as I can as long as Shepard survives.

On my first playthrough (with my male Shep from ME1, Paragon) only Jack died (only one who was not loyal, did take Mirandas side in their fight). She was with the second group in the last part of the game.

On my second playthrough (with created female Shep, even split between paragon/renegade), 3 died. Zaeed (loyal), Miranda (not loyal) and Jack (loyal, did take her side in the fight). Jack was taken by swarm, Zaeed died directly after he came through doors in the middle of the last part and Miranda died when everything was done.

Only have managed to do one playthrough thus far, still working on one last character to import before I do more ME 2 playthroughs.

But on my first run, everyone survived. Garrus took a shot to the body and went down, but he toughed it out like a man and kept going. I was worried when I saw him drop, but I'm not sure if that's because I was so dead set on getting the No One Left Behind achievement, or if because I think Garrus kicks ass.

My first runthrough, everyone but Legion lived. (It was 3am and for some reason he seemed like a good fireteam leader.)

My second runthrough, I tried to kill everyone . . . but disloyal Grunt held the line all by himself.

I've done 6 - 7 more since then, but I was one choice away from perfect on my first two runthroughs without any FAQs or Wikis.
