- Elven Mountain Ruins: [Codex] | [Location]
- Deep Roads: [Codex] | [Location] (inaccessible once you leave)
- Library: [Codex] | [Location]
- Darvaarad: [Codex] | [Location] | [Image of the self-portrait] (also inaccessible once you leave)
Here's how to get that special dialogue option at the end of Trespasser.

I did a speed run (of sorts) of Trespasser in order to confirm. I picked up NOTHING but the following codices in the following locations:
- Elven Mountain Ruins: [Codex] | [Location]
- Deep Roads: [Codex] | [Location] (inaccessible once you leave)
- Library: [Codex] | [Location]
- Darvaarad: [Codex] | [Location] | [Image of the self-portrait] (also inaccessible once you leave)
Here's a [video of the dialogue].Have fun.
Thanks so much! I was wondering which codices were required ![]()

You can still get that codex entry after you leave the Deep Roads actually. The note is submerged by that point but you can still get it by jumping on top of the stair railing.

That's cool that you can find out on your own. I think if I do another playthrough I'll watch out for that to have a different way to approach the conversation.

Does the water float it up to an accessible area then? If so, that's a nice way to make sure no one misses out on the dialogue if they accidentally missed one.

The note stays at the same place, just slightly underwater. It's kind of tricky to get to it and I actually drowned a couple of times before I managed to interact with it. I found that the railing is the best place to access it. But yeah it's nice that you can go back to collect them instead of having to play through the entire DLC again. When I saw that option I went back to go find the codex entries I'd missed by loading up a save from just before going to the Darvaarad.

It sounds like you're talking about a different codex entry than the one required for the dialogue, because as far as I was able to tell, the area the codex entry was in gets completely submerged. I'm about to check it out and see if I can still finagle my way to where the codex entry was located, though. I'll edit the post with my results. ![]()

You may be right. I think I'm confusing which codex is necessary for the dialogue to show up. The save I loaded up was a pretty complete one so I might have picked up the codex entry you're talking about during the story.

Yeah, I just got to the flooded Deep Roads. Here's a map with a marker where the required codex entry is, and my Inquisitor standing where the flood waters prevent further exploration:

There IS a codex entry at those stairs, but it's not the one required.

Is that the spot with the Blue Flames? How the hell do you put those fires out??

You don't. You use your new anchor ability (the one that replaces your horse) or another ability that grants temporary invincibility/invulnerability/whatever to run through the fires.

Question! There's an elven icon on the option, can you only choose it as an elf?

Yeah, I just finished the DLC and I got that option, but didn't know how until now (I was like, my Inq is not an elf!). Thanks for explaining it!

Didn't realize that was special.
Still very cool to put those little things as a reward for those who do try to discover as much as they can.

Damn, I missed the one in the mountain
Didn't get that option. Now I have to replay the ending just because ![]()
Anyway.. Does this change anything when Viddasala tells you about this "Agent of Fen'Harel"? Do you have an option to say something, or Quizzy just keeps it to her/himself?

You can still get it
Tbh, these entries don't seem to appear anywhere in the codex, I've looked for them.
So I have no way to check if I have taken them all...
I'm sure about 3 but the one in the Deep Roads I can't verify. But I remember reading it and thinking "mage-servant? it's got to be him!" so I think I got it.
Playing the Darvaarad again now so I will be able to tell soon ![]()

That's strange. I'm pretty sure I read them all during my playthrough but I'm also sure didn't get that special option in the end. ![]()
Edit: checked (with pre-Darvaarad save) and it seems like the reason is the elven ruins note, I probably reloaded at some point and forgot to read it again.

I didn't know that option was dependent on collecting codex entries. I just assumed my non-mage human Inquisitor got it because he got the Arcane Knowledge perk (didn't pay much attention to the icon tbh). I guess being obsessed with pushing the search button did pay off.
