Inquisitor needs to be the one to confront Solas, a new prosthetic arm could be engineered by Dagna or Bianca. But love the idea of Dorian as the protagonist in next game.

*totally forgot about this thread and got giddy when it popped up*

I'd be interested to see more of the "doesn't need to be the Inquisitor" view. Some of you guys have made some awesome arguments for and against. I have fun reading them.

I think the next game will and should have a new main PC, who works for the Inquisition. However, if/when it comes to a final confrontation with Solas, I do really feel that my Inquisitor should be there. Dual protagonists, if implemented well, could make for a very rich story, but I don't know if it's tenable or something BioWare would want to do with this storyline. I think I'd be okay with playing a new character the entire time except when facing Solas, but if there was some switching back and forth and the stories interwove nicely, that could be really cool. As fond as I am of my Inquisitor, though, I do think the logical direction for the story is to have the player spend the majority of their time as a new PC in the next installment. In addition, there may be advantages to a new PC for players. Some might find that with the perspective of a new character who doesn't have whatever sort of relationship the Inquisitor has to Solas, they see the situation differently, and that could be very interesting as well.

Does it matter to you if it is a new PC that does it, or would you really want the Inquisitor to be the one?

If the Solas storyline is concluded in the next game, I do think that the Inquisitor should be directly involved...

Do you think not being in control of the Inquisitor when confronting Solas will take away from how you feel about it?

I for one didn't mind Hawke's presence as a NPC (what annoyed me most was the fact that his Mabari was nowhere to be found: unless we learn later that the dog was promoted Vice-Captain of Kirkwall's guard, this oversight is unforgivable), but since many wanted more, I guess the writers should try to reintroduce him as a guest star PC, complete with a few branching dialogues controlled by the player.

But I'd prefer if Quizzy's spent less than 10% of the story in the limelight: keep him/her to the Solas-centric events only and let a new protagonist handle the Tevinter/Qunari main plot.

I want to see Solas' plan back fire. I also want to see the truth of the maker/human religion or at least get some hints. I would like to find out more about Darkspawn and where they came from as well. I figure the next game is perfect for that since it will likely feature the fade and crossroads.

XD, surely his plan won't go as he expects (that egg head should be used to that by now no?)

He gives no committal answers all the time. Lots of "may" and "likely" in there. I think it will go BOOM, and i think he does too

No, bad Solas. You saw what happened last time. Now come home!

To Inquisitor, the reveal about Solas as the most shocking day of his life. To Solas (a 1000 year old), it was just a footnote.

And he'll die by another hand, life is random and people don't always die near people they knew. Just like Hawke couldn't finish off Corypheus, the Inquisitor is going to miss at killing Solas.

This, so much this! However, I do suspect that the Inquisitor will at least play some part in bringing Solas plan to ruin; based upon the final comments before he/she stabbed the knife into the map at the very end of the dlc.
