Hi Bioware! Thanks for making Inquisition, which I've enjoyed the **** out of. I've done a playthrough with each of the four races now, and I thought I'd throw in my two cents here
The good
-The whole world was so beautiful and each place was so different and I often climbed to high places just to enjoy the view. All the letters and things lying around made the world feel so alive, and I actually spent hours and hours reading all the codexes.
-again, the enormous, beautiful world. I'd be happy just to wander around the different environments and admire the scenery even if there was nothing else to do
-The companions an advisers were great. Even if I didn't always agree with them it was easy to sympathize with them.
-the short main quests were good for multiple play-throughs, though I'm not sure if that's a good thing for the average player since most people probably only play through this game once
-most characters look like normal people rather than models or movie stars. I liked that people were wouldn't be considered typically attractive such as Solas, Cassandra or Blackwall are considered valid romance options and they aren't treated as lesser. However, there's a reason why media such as ads, music videos, movies, TV programs, etc have attractive people rather than average looking people and that's because it sells. I'd rather Dragon Age made characters more stereotypically attractive and sells more copies/continues for longer than if it had realistic looking people, sold less and the series died a premature death.
-there were so many little details that I didn't appreciate till the second time I played. Like companions saying different things depending what order you did something or what race/gender you are or what the world state is. For example, I didn't realise that Alistair and Morrigan will have a conversation about Kieran until a couple hundred hours in. There's just so much content but only a fraction of it is seen in a single playthrough.
-great job on foreshadowing/hints and the writing was excellent
The bad
-too much quantity and not enough quality side-quests. Not to mention they often turn quite depressing. It got so bad that I automatically started looking for a body and I was surprised to actually find someone alive for once. The saddest has to be the young couple who were eaten by the giant spider, or that dead Dalish teenager
More happy endings please!
-having an animated epilogue instead of just a bunch of pictures with Morrigan narrating would be nice. A bunch of sketches just doesn't feel very significant
-the running animations are extremely unrealistic. The male swings his arms like some kind of caveman while the female's hips have this extreme sideways motion. I think this is really important since that's one of things players spend the most time looking at. If it's too much to have a two sets of decent running animation, why not have just one and do it well? The difference between how males and females run really isn't THAT extreme.
-more puzzles please. The few puzzles were so easy it was ridiculous.
The ugly
-why are so many people bald? If it's currently fashionable I'd understand if people like Vivienne or Florianne have shaved/partly shave hairstyles but what about warriors and farmers? When do they find the time to shave so carefully? Just off the top of my head, there's Vivienne, Solas, Ser Barris, that horse guy and his daughter, Clarel, Corypheus, Vivienne's lover, Iron Bull... I'm pretty sure there's way more.
-on that note, hair options. There are like 2 or 3 decent sets of 'female; hair and no good 'male' ones. Also, being able to use Leliana's cute lil bob would be nice.
Overall, I loved the game and am really looking forwards to Dragon Age 4 ![]()
