Am I correct in understanding that josie didn't have a single romance scene or line in tresspasser?
Even Cullen had more lines in the main game and the DLC and his romance was made after josies. But this? I can't fathom how bioware can just forget she exists.

She had a few romance lines throughout the DLC, but she didn't have any romance-specific scenes.

I...suppose that's better.
does her slide change if romanced?

While I am very sad that she didn't get a wedding scene or a romance-specific scene, some of the romance content is very touching, like after she learns about your Mark acting up.
Yes, she gets an extra slide that shows her hugging her parents with the Inquisitor standing in the foreground while the text says:
"The Inquisitor found himself/herself warmly received by Josephine's family, and House Montilyet quickly became a second home. A place where the Inquisitor could, at last, find peace for a time, with Josephine happily by his/her side."

Her not getting a wedding scene is actually pretty bumtastic tbh.
but that's good! I mean not "good" but much better than what I was lead to believe.

She did get a romance scene, in the opera. All of the companion scenes have either friend versions, or slighly different romance versions which have a few rewritten lines and dialogue options. She also has romance dialogue throughout the DLC, most people miss it because they probably don't check in with her every time they return to the crossroads.

Like I said above, all of the companion scenes are pretty much the same minus a few dialogue changes. A romanced Cassandra for example talks about marriage to her, while a non romanced Cassandra talks about marriage to someone else. I think the only thing that was unique for romances were the two marriage scenes for Sera and Cullen. Everything else was permutations.

There's also dialogue if you talk to her after when you return to the palace.
The one after the rant looked kind of off to me - slightly jumpy or not timed right (goes to kiss cuts to Leliana and lingers a touch to long on her) and if the models didn't mesh right. Slightly ruined the scene which was pretty much perfect apart from that. It could just be me though.
I thought the whole Josie romance was really sweet and the best of the bunch.

Sweet Josie burst into teases and ran into his arms.
I thought that was sweet and poignant for the romance.
The romance dialogue at the opera are also hilarious.
