So why do we have to PAY for an ending of a game?

Did you complain about Witch Hunt too, OP? If not, there's some hypocrisy going on here.
Witch Hunt isn't actually good ,though. It's rather grindy and irrelevant. I suspect that is the main difference

Sure, Trespasser is definitely better, but on the principle of "paying for an ending" they're quite similar.

Of course it is, but that's not the real complaint. That's just the facade being projected. The whole issue is "It is DLC that does not suck, how dare you you do that! How can I justify my hatred of DLC like this??"

BG2's expansion also ''made you pay for an ending''
Also Mask of the Betrayer for NW2.
Flames of Vengeance for Divinity 2.
Chaos Rising and Retribution for Dawn of War 2.
Pretty much any and all expansions ever put out by Blizzard.
Why are people acting like this is a new thing or some sort of scam? So long as the base game had an ending, continuing the story, or providing an epilogue, in an add-on is nothing unethical. The dev team obviously worked their arse off for Trespasser, and Inquisition has a proper ending to its conflicts; Corypheus dead, new Divine, Mage-Templar war resolved, Breach closed, Orlesian civil war over. The DLC resolves the plot thread of the Inquisition's future, and establishes that the next game will be about Solas and Tevinter.
This is hardly a case of the true ending being cut out and sold later, like Konami apparently wants to do with a certain game.

It's not an ending, it's an epilogue. One final adventure after Corypheus has been dealt with. And a setup for the next game.

Its more like people these days care if you can afford DLC content in general or not. Like as if money these days is so precious to them that they need to voice thier opinion inside an excuse, in this case the game finally having an "ending"
How you spend it, earn it, save it is completely your business.

The original game lacked a proper ending. The last DLC should have been in the original game or at least be free for buyers of the game and not being sold for 15 Euros. Sucks in my opinion. I feel ripped of considering I paid 70 Euro for my digital deluxe edition on Origin.
Just one more reason why MP is way better than SP can ever be.

Er,,, What?
You are entitled to a complete product with a complete story within it if you buy it. You don't buy a book and expect to put £15 down for the last 20 pages, which is more akin to the example he's making.
I don't *agree* with him, but putting stupid statements like yours out just makes you look like a rabid fanboy and only serves to create more mindless people like him. =/

Yeah, I don't get some people's reactions here. Whether you like it or not, whether you enjoyed it or not, Inquisition definitely has an ending. I don't see people complaining about a short story that is set after a novel ends.

Original game had an ending.
I'm very happy they finally bit the bullet and tried a post game DLC again. Hopefully MEA will see the success and try something similar.

Put more simply, we are all f****d.

I have people on here I don't agree with, and even some I find frustrating. That doesn't make them trolls.
Anyway, the choice was either Trespasser or some Descent-style side-story that offered next to nothing in terms of character content or a personal story and was divorced from the main game. I'd take Trespasser every time.
The only thing that makes me sad is that it wasn't released for Xbox 360 and PS3. It would suck not to be able to play one of the best DLCs in terms of story, characters, and even gear and game mechanics Bioware has ever made.

These DLCs are worth the money compared to the $4.99 item DLCs that Bioware tries to suck out of you. Item mods are free at Nexus.

The paid item dlc has and always will be bs. This is something Bioware SHOULD learn from CDP, people have no issues shelling out for quality quest content, but item content? Even Bethesda learned from that after Oblivion.

Ha, good point. Now I wish the item pack DLCs had the quality of Trespasser. Then I'd actually pay for them.

Yup, I refuse to buy the item packs in DAI (not only are they rather horrible) but there's just no point. I will also only buy Descent when it goes on sale.

Witch Hunt doesn't even feel like an ending though. Heck, nothing even happens, and if your Warden is dead, it's just some Orlesian talking to her and then it's over and we cut to credits. Awakening is more so an ending, but really it's more like a semi-sequel, because it's a totally different story and can involve an entirely different protagonist.Sure, Trespasser is definitely better, but on the principle of "paying for an ending" they're quite similar.
The most important thing though is that Witch Hunt isn't really essential in the broader scope of the series. You can skip it and not really lose much of anything from it.

Lets face it, witch hunt was made for morriganmancers only, this was clear when non-romancers really got nothing and wasted their time.

Just watch it on youtube, OP. It costs because the levels take time to make and the voice actors cost a lot.

I don't ever buy item pack DLC either, but clearly people like them or they wouldn't be selling and Bioware wouldn't keep making them.

Exactly. I didn't like any of the content in them, the amount of content isn't really equal to what we've gotten for the same price before, none of the new items change gameplay like the new gear in Trespasser, and you can get better stuff regardless. Not a good combo. And Descent was definitely overpriced. One of the most disappointing DLCs for me. I wouldn't have minded it so much for $10, and even though Hakkon was alright, I think $10 would have been more fitting for it too.

Well, that's an odd thing to say. Clearly people like item packs, and so do I... if they're good quality. But I bet the two Spoils packs didn't do very well compared to some of their other ones because they lack quality (and in my opinion, the aesthetics suck). So I'm not against Bioware making them at all, I just want them to be good.

Especially with 4 voices for the protagonist. I think it's worth the investment though. I loved the option to choose and hope it becomes standard.
