I bet she's dead. Apart for showing up for around 10 minutes, she hasn't done much in any game. That and her voice actor is probably way more expensive than all the others. For someone so cunning and ruthless, she sure doesn't do much in the actual games.

Anything that link with Mythal will probably be done through Morrigan/Solas now.

I believe Flemath gave up her power to Solas willingly ...

Don't forget before Solas absorb the power, he is no more than a capable mage. If Flemath doesn't allow this to happen, Solas has no way to steal the power by force. Combined with what we learnt in Trespasser, in their conversation Solas expressed clearly that he's sorry but his need that power to tear down veil so the remaining ancient elves could be restored to what they were.

What Flemath/Mythal seeks is justice, vengeance, which by now we know is towards  Evanuris. She made it quite clear that have her murderers sealed away does not satisfy her. (otherwise she'd consider her revenge done) In this case, to kill Evanuris/crush their evil spirit, the veil has to be torn down first...just another reason that she'd agree with Solas's plan.

"She was betrayed as I was betrayed as the world was betrayed."

It is an interesting quote, because we know exactly how Flemeth was betrayed: she "sold" herself to a powerful lord that desired her so that the man she loved could have money and exit poverty, but the lord was jealous and killed her lover instead of giving him the money. The betrayal was not keeping with the deal.

The Dalish legends and beliefs has many example of deals like these, everything comes at a cost and someone who refuse to pay his dude is doing something very bad.

"The world was betrayed" is easy to see under that optic: Solas broke the deal (balance) between the Fade and the "earth" when he put up the Veil.

That is also why I don't believe Mythal want to avenge her death, that is not what was broken, something else happened before she was killed, someone broke a deal made with her. In fact, her death might have been a preemptive strike by whoever broke the deal.

She was murdered by the Creators...I suspect she didn't have good relationship with them anyway.

But I can imagine Elgar'nan betraying her , dude had a bad temper and she was keeping him (and the rest) on a leash, but I doubt the one who defeated the Sun  was happy about it.

What I think happened is the elves caused or found the Blight , yes it was bad but a really powerful tool granting "effective" immortality and you can use it to mind control everyone affected.

The Evanuris could be destroyed or at least badly damaged , Mythal ending up a whisp , a shadow of herself.

With the unrest caused by the Forgotten Ones , and Fen Harel  all of those not believing in the Godhood of the Evanuris , I think the elven Gods started sweating big time.

Sooner or later , the People would know they weren't divine and could fall just like the rest .

We also know Mythal was using a form of mind control or binding at the very least with her Well , although it seems no one was forced to drink from it.

So yeah I think the Evanuris knew about the Blight and its power and wanted to truly "ascend ", I suppose Mythal opposed this and well bam ...

I aslo assume the rest of the Evanuris kept on with their plans of tainting everyone and themselves and that's why Solas had to seal them away in a hurry.

Since we're on the subject of deals, I wonder if she had a deal with the Evunuris that ended up killing her? Elgar'nan seems to easy to blame due to his power and all-consuming rage ... but what if he had absolutely nothing to do with it?

What if that deal was to seal Elgar'nan (who's dangerous) in exchange for them to no longer cause war or whatever? Of course they call ended up killing her once that happened.

Perhaps it is Elgar'nan that's sealed within the Black City; when it comes to end of the world prophecies in Thedas they all have: darkness, fire, mass destruction, life dying and something to do with sun ... all of which are associated with Elgar'nan. The "reckoning" that Flemythal is talking about might be her unleashing Elgar'nan

If they decide to follow greek/roman mythologies then it'll make sense that the younger generation will overthrow the older generation.

In trespasser he say that eternity of torment is fitting punishment for killing Mythal. And looks happy without slight hint of guilt.

Happy?

To me he looked potentially self-loathing.

This whole quest of his may be his self-imposed punishment.

He is afraid of being alone.

But he 'must' be alone.

I think he's on a suicide run and considers himself part of Mythal's betrayal, at least in his own way.
