This may not be the best place to put this but heck. I've always had the problem of wanting to replay DAO but in execution deciding I don't actually want to. It's tough because my first playthrough as a sociopathic city elf is probably in my top three gaming experiences. Even the more criticised parts, the deep roads and the fade all felt perfect within the context of the game and left me with a genuine attachment with my PC that I've never had in any other game.
But in subsequent attempts I've just felt..kinda bored. I've tried all the origins to try to liven things up but I ultimately end up abandoning my save at best after I've recruited my first faction.
By contract I actually quite enjoy replaying DA2. Hawke, the gang and Kirkwall have a certain endearing charm to them that keeps me enthused despite the game being clearly underbaked. I suppose as a game it takes much of its inspiration from ME2 with character based drama rather than plot based as well as a charismatic PC. ME2 on most days is my favourite of the trilogy so I suppose this fits me like a glove.
DAI though, was and is just charmless.
How this relates to the thread you say? Well, I'd argue that it's always been a one way street. Mass Effect has inspired Dragon Age but I can't of any examples of the opposite. Lets hope MEA isn't the first example of Dragon Age(specifically the third one) affecting Mass Effect.
