I don't know if this is a spoiler friendly part of the forums so I won't go into detail about how it's obtained, but you can get a schematic for a one-handed sword called Brand in Trespasser that deals elemental damage like a staff based on the primary material you make it from. It has a grip slot and a rune slot. Yet it does what seems to be PITIFUL damage, and I can not figure out why anyone would want to use it. Even against an enemy weak to the element of choice, I don't see how it can compare with schematics for swords like the one you find in Descent. Can anyone tell me why this thing exists? It's found in the list of staff schematics, so at first I thought it was something for Knight Enchanters. But mages can't use it. Weird.

It was annoying to get too.

It seems like it's just a novelty weapon. Really disappointing considering how much of a PITA it was to get.

Golden Nug weapon? Get it, synch it with the Golden Nug, then use it early on with a lower character?

Could you post the stats of the schematic?

If it works with the pact belts, it could be useful.

Got the crafted version from a War Table operation- equipped it on a SnS warrior and agree that it is way under powered. If you can't kill a Snofleur with one swing- it's a weak weapon. Looks cool- but I won't ever use it.

It can be used to open Force Barriers without a mage.

Could you post the stats of the schematic?

24 material for damage
8 metal utility
6 metal utility
5 metal offense
Masterwork slot
Grip and Rune slots

Only gets to 85 dps (77 damage) with tier 4 material, with elemental damage based on material. It's... bad. I mean, as a low level weapon for other playthroughs it's good, but all your other schematics are also available from the golden nug. There's no reason to use this. Other new schematics are competitive: encore, chromatic greatsword, Elgar'Nan Enaste, etc. (Never found a new dagger in Trespasser, did anyone else?) But Brand just seems terrible. Maybe it's a bug lol.

Edit: opening barriers without a mage is... useful? Do you not want a mage at all times? And even if not, I like having a can opener but I wouldn't defend my apartment from intruders with it. That's what cheese graters are for.

I think its bugged, if i am guessing the sword was supposed to be a prismatic longsword, like the prismatic greatxe or the chromatic greatsword.
