No, I meant what he said. Should I have specified clearly, I thought it was obivous of my intent. The agian, I don't really care for what romances I get, really. They could be anything, I don't care, what gender, sexuality, or even what race the LI's in DA4 is. I'll take it, and be happy. I'm not picky about how many LI's there are either, so there's that.

1. Hair and beards that don't look awful.
2. Get rid of the pseudo-mmo trappings. Hate to say it but W3 packed big maps with lots of content while keeping things interesting.
3. Consequences of our decisions playing out - not just as numbers on a table. The world actually changing as a result of them.

The main things I want:

 

1) Better hair options

2) Multiple race options

3) No war table, progress through the story by actually walking to that location in the world like in DA:O and DA2

4) More choices that make an impact during the game

 

Something that would be nice but I can do without:

 

5) Get rid of the 8 ability limit and go back to the radial menu like in DA:O and DA2 for accessing more abilities

3. Either expand skill trees again to something approaching the way they were in DA2 or expand the number of classes

4. Main story needs to be given a greater focus if they want to continue with open world plus better zone stories for every zone

5. Get rid of mmoish RNG in rewards it has no place in a single player game.

6. If you want to bring in strategic aspects ie the acquisition of power points, actually make them strategic

 

Some more thoughts:

 

Firstly on 3, another alternative could be to have more than 3 specs and we have the ability to train 2 specs again.

7. Banter that is not reliant on RNG to trigger

8. Companion skill trees different from our skill trees reflective of their personality

9. Return of Friendship/rivalry system but make it more nuanced than in DA2.

10. Fuller companion arcs

11. Widen the tonal dialogue options available to the protagonist back to something like DA2 was but without the autodialogue based on tonal choices. Inquisitor options were too narrow.

1. An intimate story line like DA2. More focused and less epic.

2. Return to the tone of DAO and DA2

3. Trade the open world for something more like Origins/Baldur's Gate 2

4. Establish romances early, letting it bloom through the story, Be an established couple through most of the game, rather than just kind of flirting until the end.

They had TOO MANY open level maps, and while I do enjoy that more then seeing the same place over and over like in DA2, they didn't need to go to that extreme. I liked smaller closed maps like when you go looking for the Seekers with Cassandra. In my opinion it hurts the replayability of the game because of those open maps, it's so daunting.

 

I liked it my first play through because it allowed me to play many hours, but it's less appealing on the 2nd-3rd play through.

1. Proper PC controls.

 

2. Less bugs - characters keep freezing. They often simply refuse to walk because one mate is stand in their way.

 

3. Less war table stuff. It is just confusing especially since closed missions don't disappear.

 

4. Less missions about collecting - especially since they can be done multiple times. They basically are just spam since they are not needed to gain influence nor power for the war table. One has more than enough points while just playing normally.

 

5. More classes or at least more like DA2 having each character his/her/it's own playstyle. DAI is way to repetitive in this regard and didn't use it's chances. I don't want to be same templar like Cass (btw she is not a templar lol) or the same mage like Vivienne. If you go for templar specialisations as you also already have one, but this would not be much of an issue unless...

 

6.  One can have more than 8 skills. This is a joke for the franchise. There aren't enough slots anyway and since there aren't enough slots there is no need for a specialisations and since there is no second specialisations class there is no need for more slots. Pretty meh.

 

6.1 If I go for the templar with shield and 1 hand it is basically cassandra in another look. Yay. Obviously this is not a good concept. Don't know how this came actually a thing the final version of the game.

If there are more slots there will be the possibilty for more individualisation, hence no problem for being a templar like cass. My first DA:O warrior was also a templar, because I liked the look and the lore but he wasn't even close of being an Alistar clone.

 

7. Proper way of sorting the crafting options. It is a mess. Just confusing. Not talking about the amount or the actuall crafting process just about the presentation. One is basically buried under a list of stuff. 

 

8. Too many repetive quests. Doing the same things over and over again is not fun. Less quests but with more variety. Variety doesn't  necessarly means new or innovative. Just some variety Move there, press F isn't fun. Again: Obvious. One does basically the same things in every area. 

 

9. For the sake...tooltips. This is just...How am I suppossed to remember all skills by reading them once. Not even talking about combos here. After 30hours I somewhat got the concept, but this is just lowering fun and deterrent for new players.

 

10. Quests: Some of them seem just to have zero impact. I do them and then...nothing. Move to area X. Ok done and that's it. I don't even bother anymore to read a quest description because half of them seem to be have no or only little purpose.

Oh if I must.
No open world
No HoF
No Quizzy
Separate stubble and beard.
Creation and Entropy and force field and stuff.

Spell combos (I once hit redcliffe with Storm of the Century. Was funny how everyone undied in DA:I, no? :P)
No healing just for the sake of it.
Tactics.
No returning characters (cameo's are ok I just mean party members)
Have Calpernia give queen anora her hair back.
Stop trying to be funny as you've clearly forgotten how to tell a joke without holding a big "this is a Funnytm" over it.
Mabari Puppy. Because they are...so pure. So innocent.
Let us be evil. No point in letting us have morals if there's only one moral you can be.
Let EVERYONE be evil and varied. Everyone felt one dimensional in this game and you could tell they were hit hard with the PC Battm

Edit: If I don't hear Mage Pride or In Uthenera I'm gonna scream. I just love female vocals and pulling back from "Super Epictm" or "Super Sadtm" would be good.
Edit Edit: I want Solas to win. It would be a nice set up for the next game, deal with the consequences of it ect ect. Could have it in like 2 parts. First is find everyone next is teach them. The fix the world or let it stay (it would theoretically be the same world, one would just have the fade the other everyone is a mage)
The first part could be easier for every pro templar choice the second could be easier for every pro mage choice. And there's some fabled consequences to boot.

I'll keep expanding on this I suppose.

Ignore most of the fan-base. It's almost impossible to not rake in millions at this point.

Remember Asunder? I wana fight that demon I let loose. (That was such a wasted opportunity. There's no reason to not let a pride demon loose. GG)

Tone down the CC. Actually tone down both CC. Less crowd control and a simpler CC. It was just too much? I'm not saying DA:O Sliders but some of them could have literally been a slider without the weird overlay so >.>

Deep voiced male protag. If I can't be super macho angry bull man who charges into every problem and picks up the pieces later then I really can't play your game.

Couple of small things I'd like.

 

Firstly I'd like to go back to the blood-splatter dragon motif for the logo.

 

Secondly I don't want the actual title to be Dragon Age 4; I'd rather it be unnumbered with a subtitle. 

 

These things won't make or break the game for me, but they'd be positive touches in my opinion.

A spectacular Elven army with amazing armors, an epic battle and we as allies of Solas. Something like Thranduil and his army. 

DA4 to be something like DAI, but improved:

- with more cutscenes; 

- more stories;

- more missions;

- improved combat; at least for warrior I would love to have something like Shadow Of Mordor for combat (and with slow motion effect);

- choices with visible impact over the main story;

- getting Solas as an ally;

- better graphics;

- and last but not least, more relaxing moments with companions, something like the Wicked Grace, maybe even playing games with them. Fun is needed.

 

DAI features that I would like to see in DA4: the crafting system, race selection, character customization, large open world maps, advisors, companions, fast travel, home base (something like Skyhold), skill tree. Maybe I forgot something.

There's a lot of intrigue with Tevinter but I think it would be cool if you began in Rivain as a spirit and something happens which means you then have to go to Tevinter and find the Inquisitor. It would be interesting to see if the choices you make determine how spirited/demonic/human you are by the endgame. I'm unsure if this is a direction BioWare would go though considering they've already (sort of) explored this with Cole.

-If it is in a city urban environment again please take inspiration / look back at world, character and exploration design in Shadows of Amn. 

 

-Make specializations quests more immersive / you have to go through a trial instead of just "fetch this". Also each class and possibly specialization should have a special quest involving a faction / stronghold ahem again like Shadows of Amn. 

 

-Also allow dual specs and cross class specs but certain prerequisites have to be met to be able to dual spec or do a cross class build. 

 

-make combat more tactical: less enemies but they are smarter and have more abilities and special attacks in general (there can be still certain areas where you have to fight hordes or baddies but less brawn more brain in the fights please - heartbreaker / walk softly was a step in right direction, but it can be refined up a notch even to dark souls standards imo - the advantage in da is that combat can be even more intricate than in dark souls because you have a FULL PARTY to take on the baddies.)

 

-make a kickass story with SMART villains this time around that actually inspire fear and admiration in the protagonist to the point where he or she has to start making sacrifices either others (become as ruthless as the antagonist) or at personal cost to triumph and or accomplish goals.

Well ME2 had it so that all companions die and so do you. I think a option for you to die because you were evil fits nicely and should be considered.

Bring back the wheel no more only eight options

If you play evil you should die lose the mission

No mass effect 3 type ending. I don't want everyone to share their body with a spirit. 

No DA2 characters where everything bad happens and you have no control just to wait years for a new hero to fix the mess.

The Hero of Ferelden.

 

Here's why. We saw the involvement of the Champion in Inquisition, and we will see the involvement of the Inquisitor in DA4. So we need to see the Hero's involvement in DA4 as well. It's time BioWare stop being lazy, and actually make it happen. Plus, the Hero has returned from the cure quest, so we need to see how that worked out as well.

 

I will not buy DA4 if the Hero is not part of it.

 

What would make this amazing is fighting some of the evanuris. This could even play into a storyline where Solas unleashes specific evanuris for the new DA4 protag to fight and kill for him.

 

I would also like to fight the Nightmare, who has since possessed the body of whoever was left behind in the Fade. Alistair, Stroud, and Loghain would all be S&S warriors but controlled and powered up by the demon. And each could have a secondary skill set. Alistair could be 2H, Stroud DW, and Loghain could use archery. Hawke could be any class or skill set, based on how Hawke was customized in DA2. I would like the Nightmare to also manifest in the form of a weapon custom to whatever weapons the possessed character uses. That 2H sword in Trespasser was actually pretty close to what I was picturing.

 

I would like to see Arishok (Sten) again.

 

I would like to see the Magisterium and participate in some of its meetings somehow.

 

I think Calpernia should come back, and I think she should be a companion character.

Tactics.

 

More focus on story. Less open world. Some exploration is nice, but I feel they went absolutely overboard in DA:I.

 

A unique specialization tree for each companion.

 

Cities to be actual cities (looking at you, Val Royeaux)

 

No more 50 shades of buzzcut.
