- Shorter complete playthrough (about 40 hours);
- More character customization (appearance, skills, dialogue options);
- More action-like choices (not just selecting a dialogue option, but walking/giving a quest item/attacking);
- More non-magical action in general (Thousand Cuts look awesome, teleporting rogues don't go along with the DA lore);
- No RNG;
- More realistic-looking weapon (except for staves);
- More unique boss battles;
- Better PC controls;
- Better parkour.
Though, I'm going to pre-purchase DA4 anyway.
For 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is the best example. You can choose protagonist's height, weight, class, etc. and game's mechanics reflects it (taller characters have larger hitboxes, heavy ones can carry more). Choices include actions (to prevent character A from killing character B or to stand and watch, to attack a dragon or to run from it). It could be implemented as dialogues and cut-scenes, but it would be less fun. Ability to climb large monsters in order to hit its weak point is great.
Also DD:DA has one of the best controls I've ever seen (hard to explain, basically, there are light/heavy attack and secondary weapon on mouse, skills are used with combination of keys pressed).
Boss battle example (the party attracts the boss, decreases its mobility, then kills it, using specific elemental vulnerability).
