What I want from DA4...

  • A more low key story, I don't want to be leading an organization (Or at least only a small one) and I don't want to singlehandedly stop the Qunari invasion or something similar.
  • I don't want to be put in a position of immersion breaking power.  This usually happens when characters put the PC in a position of bizarre power, like asking them to chose the monarch of Ferelden or Orlais.  Thankfully Bioware has learned how not to do this with the Divine election.  I'd prefer more of that, let the player have influence without directly controlling events.
  • If the next setting is Tevinter during the Qunari invasion, we're looking at an intersection of all things dragon related in this setting.  So I really want to dig into the lore of the Old Gods and the Kossith.  I'm hoping to have a plot involving an uncorrupted Old God.  I'd also be interested to hear about the other Darkspawn Magisters.
  • I want a new protagonist, but I also want the Inquisitor to be involved in the plot as it relates to Solas.  I don't know if Solas will be the main focus of the plot, though I rather there's more going on than just his plans.  I would be fine with the Inquisitor in a Chessmaster-background role but it might be interesting to have something of a Geralt-Ciri dynamic.  Play as the new PC 90% of the time, but take control of the Inquisitor for brief non-combat sections where we make choices that will affect the game world the new PC works in, it also opens the door for controlling the Inquisitor in the final confrontation with Solas.  That seems to be something a lot of people want
  • I want them to do Minrathous justice, and other proper large urban areas to explore.
  • Race selection, that's something I really want to see again.  I wouldn't necessarily not buy it if they restricted it to a single race, but I would prefer it.

Better combat mechanics.  Especially for mages, they felt way too pew-pew.

A better tactical map

More than 8 active abilities

Jaws of Hakkon-quality zone storylines for each area in addition to the main story.

Talent trees more like DA2

If we can get a base that can be decorated, more variety.  And more stuff to do there.

Better banter triggers.

Edit:  And how could I possibly forget BRING BACK THE TACTICS MENU!!!

JoH did a much better job w/ the zones IMO than the main game.

Also when you say it's meant for PC, please give me a m&k setup that is meant for PC, not a controller port. And bring back Origin style tactical cam. Simple w/ no muss or fuss.

And long hair.

As I mentioned earlier, a confirmed release date is the top of my current want list.

Pretty much everything this person says ^^ right here ^^

I also mentioned elsewhere, if we are going to do a similar scenario to DAI with external influence, make it count and better yet, make it interesting.  The one thing from DAII that a lot of people enjoyed, including myself, was being able to be a sarcastic cynic with a screw you attitude or, mr./mrs nice, spreading flowers and rainbows.  Keep the external influence by either being an oppressive hard fisted bady or wheel in carts of grain for the little folk.  Opens the door for having to manage places you gained influence, as what is more likely, sending a Josie like diplomat one time to some kingdom of brigands and getting 30 influence and that is the end of it or different realms and kingdoms joining with you because you are either Billy bad *ss or Sweet William Now?  In a way it was done in Origins with Branka/Caradin or Werewolves/Dailish choices, so would it really be so hard?

Big open world games are just the thing, and I love them, but really should jiggle the handle on the mechanics of crafting and herbs, as few things are as humiliating as spending 100 hours gathering an army, defeating dangerous demons, spirits, monsters, the political machinations of entire kingdoms and god like megalomaniacs to have to say... oh excuse me, I need to pick some more elfroot.  Look, there is our glorious leader hunched over in a field, scrounging for roots.

And if Val Royeau ends up with fewer shops and less interesting than a backwater like Redcliff, I'm breaking up with you and I want my records back.

I agree with most of your points.

1. As far as a more low key story I could see that. I would honestly like a story were we are maybe just a regular mage, warrior, farmer hell whatever and maybe stumble upon a secret we no nothing about that has to do with Solas or the Magisters and we either get kinda forced into learning more about it or are curious and start investigating our selves.

2. So that way we aren't someone with great influence to just decide things straight out but maybe with the companions we make along our journey wean build influence and trust within the group.

3. I would love to meet a old god there are still some out there. I mean like I just imagine the places where they are held like a massive apartment where they watch TV all day and invite the other old god's over until they want to have a darkspawn party

4. IDK if I want to Control my Quizzy now going on a quest like we did with hawks I could see. But maybe something more like the dragon age keep taking our previous choices from inquisition into consideration and having our quizzy act accordingly. So maybe if we advise the quizzy to take a nicer route they choose a more direct route because that's how our quizzy acted through out inquisition.

5. I would like bigger urban areas would have love for Val to be bigger for sure.

6. I would also like race selection but only if it actually meant something. Maybe have it affect how we start off and where we start off. Have it affect how companions treat us.

Would love a companion that wasn't fond of elves

Doesn't everyone want Sandal back like why the hell didn't we get to see him at the Winter Palace at least.

Definitely want the tactics back.

Emotions I want to cry from the dialogue.

Walk Softly Trail is that a game?

Definitely would love to revisit the Winter Palace and such.

-I don't want to be some kind of "chosen one" again.  It's too cliche.  I don't really want someone like Hawke, either, though, because I frankly found all of the emotional family stuff to be annoying.  I want someone like the HoF, who is put in a somewhat powerful position by a more logical force than an orb that you found at a meeting you shouldn't have even been at for any reason that is compellingly explained.  Alistair potentially could have done it without the HoF, in theory, and I think being in a position of equal or lesser power than the most powerful person allows for more realistic relationships between characters, because it's easy to fall in love when you aren't Thedas' only hope of closing the gaping hole in the sky.

-I don't want Solas to be turned into an evil villain.  I know that Bioware will probably lean toward making him into one, but I would much rather see the ability to choose how to react to him.  I am hoping that the option in the end of Trespasser between saying you'll prove him wrong and saying you'll kill him means that there will be a similar choice in the next game.

-I don't want to see a younger version of scout Harding as a romance option.

-I want to be able to play as an elf.  I would really like to be able to play an elf with a similar background to the city elf in Origins.  I think that while that origin story was a little bit controversial, it really gave an idea of how bad things were for elves.  This would be greatly aided by giving the protagonist a less important role.

-I want a dark-skinned male romance option.  I feel like there should just be more characters of minorities in general, but I find dark guys to be attractive.  I also want him to either be a mage or be sympathetic to mages.

-Better character creator.
-Better hair styles

-Better armor

-Better character development.
-I like the idea of better choices/events in game. Things that you can miss or mess up. Having to choose to help a village or save a specific person for more information, etc etc.
-More cut scenes and chances to show our character's personality.

-Templar/Mage choice was interesting, but I felt like at times it didn't feel quite right. The balance was off. I felt like because we got to visit redcliff and know bad **** was happening with time that it made more sense to go to the mages always. Time magic is way more dangerous then whatever the **** was happening with the templars. At the same time choosing the templars you ended up getting more information about the big bad and overall better story.  I also think this choice should have meant more. There was very little content specifically tied to this choice. That seems odd since it FELT like such a huge choice. So yeah balance here was bad.
-Romances are good, but I do wish there was more than one way to go about a romance. I understood the reason many people hate the friend/rivalry system, but I liked that it made 1 romance function very differently so much that it felt like two different ones.

I just want to add to this that, really, some of the side content in this game is incredibly fun. Things like the Still Ruins, D'Onterre manor, Suledin Keep. I had a blast doing that stuff - but all of them severely lacked for narrative. They all had a story, but their "story" was told almost entirely through codex entries. Not altogether a bad thing, but it hurts to think of all the meaningful conversations that might have been had in areas like these were the narrative in each simply more fleshed out.

Now, obviously there are some instances where dialogue just won't do. A big haunted house? Not exactly a place where one expects to find scintillating conversations, but I stress that areas like these would benefit from some better storytelling, not that all such areas require it. In part, this issue extends to every area in the game - not just dungeon-esque areas. These grand zones are largely devoid of non-hostile life, and would benefit from having a few more towns/settlements, while some of the more dangerous areas would still benefit from the same.

I think a game like Baldur's Gate has a multitude of examples where the players are in an especially dangerous location, yet there's still life and conversation to be found. Quests like the Windspear Hills, the Planar Sphere, Umar Hills, or even Watcher's Keep and Durlag's Tower. They're all very dangerous locations, but you still find life in all of these places and it isn't always trying to kill you (at least not at first!)

All-in-all, I think "quality over quantity" is the greatest lesson to be learned from Dragon Age: Inquisition.

1. No more FETCH quests. Make EVERY side quest count. Deepen the story. Create character progression. Provide twists. Hit the emotions.

2. Take some inspiration from the best storytellers in the business (Brandon Sanderson, Brent Weeks, Stephen King, Patrick Rothfus, George Martin, Steve James) and work on polishing the story even more. Take the companions to the next level (wasn't impressed by DAI companions).

3. The combat needs polishing and deepening. Better finishing moves. More team combos. Clothes tear up? Scars can be received? Take it further. More powers.

4. Better character creator. Can the character models be improved graphically? The world looks cool. Just improve the character models.

5. After Skyrim, and now Fallout 4, need a better "Skyhold" type customize mechanic. I want to build my own little base of operations.

6. Learn from The Witcher 3. More choices. More consequences. The more choices and consequences, the more I want to replay it.

7. Tighten the tension within the story. Tension drives story. Learn to tighten it a bit better. I want the world to move along with my decisions and to feel like the story is shifting with my choices. Am I having a real impact? Did I just make a really huge mistake? Let me also experience the cost of losing life. Don't let even one death feel empty or cheap. Force me to choose, then shock me with the answer...but leave cookie crumbs that show me the answer didn't come out of nowhere. It was there all along if I was looking hard enough.

8. I love returning characters. Morrigan, obviously. Liliana. Isabella. Iron Bull. Varric. I also love new characters. A mix of both is great.

9. I love the funny moments. The banter. The cut scenes. Keep it up. I wish there was a cool interrupt option like Mass Effect has. I would love to interrupt a rude dude and send him through a wall. What if I want to be a Conan the Barbarian like character? Or a Captain Picard? Or maybe an antihero? Let me really experience that to the fullest.

10. I think it would be funny if one of your companions tried to hit on your love interest. Maybe you get into a fist fight! Or have a drinking contest! Or maybe one of your allies stabs you in the back...or dies saving your life. Play with emotions. Tug on heart strings. Create epic twists. Add suspense. Introduce more mystery while providing a slew of new answers.

I think your being pretty harsh with some of your points.

We all know Bioware can make a amazing story without having to take inspiration from no one but themselves.

An they don't need to take any influence from the Witcher if you look at the Alpha the it looked much better choice cutscene and consequence wise. Don't know why they didn't stick with it.

I just don't like how you keep saying Learn this Learn that as if they are newbies in the Game industry lol.

Everyone wants a million choices but you can't make too many. IF you do you get the good ole retcon/invalidation.
Bioware really shouldn't listen to us tbh. This fandom is never happy with what they get.

Dwarves to not feel like an afterthought.

Qunari to look like they did in DA2, not the horrors we saw in Inquisition.

A better cast of companions.

  • Origin stories to be brought back for your protagonists - I felt far more connected to the HoF and Hawk because we got a sense of who they were and what their motivations were before the game proper started. I love my Quizzies now, and I know we have codex entries but I felt far more connected and comfortable in their shoes after I established my own headcanon for them. Would've also explain how a big'ol lumbering Qunari could be at the Temple of Sacred Ashes without anyone batting an eye lol

  • If we have something like a War Table again, I'd like for your advisers, companions and protag to have reactions after you've completed missions - Those of you who've played as elves know exactly what I'm talking about lol. I literally sat in stunned silence for 15min after accidently obliterating my clan and no one said a damn thing about it. Not so much as an "Inquisitor, we are so sorry" or a much needed freak out scene from your character. It felt so bizarre to be all "Tra la laa, lets close some more breaches!" after that.

  • If we have mounts again make it so we can fight on top of them - I'm not sure about the rest of you but I ended up completely forgetting I had a mount after the novelty wore off. Maybe if we had the ability to kick some ass whilst riding i'd be more inclined to use them whilst adventuring. Rogue's could sling arrows, knives and grenades, Mages could hurl spells, Warriors could lop off limbs etc, etc.

  • Where's Sandal and Bodahn? - No, seriously Bioware, where the hell are they? I gots to know!!

My wishlist for the next installment in Dragon Age (Since I doubt it's gonna be called DA4 with the current title schema)

  • Bring Healing Spells back, at least in some capacity where you slap large cooldowns or something, really hampers roleplaying and typical RPG elements like a healing support. I don't mind the barrier system but healing would be great. Would be super cool if you have a healer specialization again and that affects some situations where you can help.
  • Character Creation that's better. Honestly, I think it's ridiculous that they don't have more variety in hair options and that they don't add long hair because it 'clips' when so many other things clip in game, Ridiculous excuse. Also hair that's animated at that, I find it strange how everyone's hair is like glued on clumps of textures. Seeing other games like TW3 or even fighting games like DOA5 have animated clumps of hair is enough for me, just something to look wooshy and give the characters more life.
  • Fenris,  that is all. Honestly though, I know he might not be in everyone's world state becauuse some have killed him but please a cameo at the very least. He's apparently at Tevinter right now anyway is he not?
  • More choice in Combat, DAI combat was great in my opinon but it could be better. I hated how they limited us to 8 abilities. At least bring back the Radial Menu (in consoles) from previous games so that we can use abilities that we have before. Honestly, it's ridiculous how we learn abilities but don't get to use them because we don't have them equipped. It's really immersion breaking for me.
  • More choice in general, unlike a lot of people, I actually liked the way dialogue was in DAI, it allowed me to shape my quizzy's personality more without having 3 archetypical personas autopiloting my PC (looks at DA2). However, actual choices are still not very present. Everything has similar outcomes aside from major choices. I want some more minor choices that can cause whole world states to be different. I understand that major choices lead to a similar ending becuase it'd be hard to create a sequel game where something major may or may not have happened but Bioware has done it already with ME2 with almost half of the companions being either dead or alive by the beginning of ME3 but still hold significance to the story (Garrus, Wrex, Tali, Kaiden/Ashley, etc.)
  • More Armor variety, They honestly teased the idea that we get to equip our own armors onto our companions like in DAO but honestly most of them are just some additions here and there and all retain some identity of the original style which was their intention. Unfortunately all this did for me was make armor stuff really boring unless it was an armor style that was unique and different.
  • Keep Race Choices,  elven race supreme elite, in all seriousness. I didn't realize how Racial choice was such a big deal for me. I wasns't too bummed when news came out that DAI would be humans only again like in DA2 but having the choice to choose a race again reminded me how game building it was to make different characters and I really hope they won't have to take that away.
  • More involvement with PC Past - I know they didn't want to waste resources on origin stories becuase half of them are probably never going to be played by most of the population of their gamers but at least add more involvement with their past. Sure in DAI there were wartable missions that had honorable mentions like in Trespasser (If you're Dalish and your keeper became a councilman for Wycome or something) and what not but there should be more in game stuff, like at least being able to visit your clan again or at the very least be visited by your keeper at the end in like DAO.
  • Bring back Friendship and Rivalry - I vastly prefer this system than just regular approval or disapproval. I hated how approval can lock you out of content in DAI and if you wanted something like a quest then you need to either metagame or play out of character to cheese some approval points out of people to access their quests. This was super annoying and I much rather prefer Friendship and Rivalry because it never made me have to worry about the points. Instead, it notified me on what direction the relationship is leaning towards, something I prefer more. And at that make approval visible in game per person, I thought it was dumb and pointless to include a pointbased approval system without having an approval bar. Yes, they wanted to keep things realistic and not too gamey but a notifier would be great please.
  • Hand Auto attack for Mages - I was actually a fan of the staff dance autoattack for mages. I thought it looked cool af and made me look like Avatar the last airbender or whatever and it was great. However, the hand shooting allowed mages to be mobile while attacking like an archer not rooted as it is now. Plus it makes sense for the auto attack to come out of their hands since the already have magic without needing a weapon. The staff equipped (assuming they're going by the same system) will affect the elementla projectile for the autoattack.
  • More missions liek WEaWH - This mission was insanely fun and I loved seeing my party members reacting to an event. Also if we have formals and balls, can we pretty please have atual formal outfit. Like a fricking dress on my shequisitor, an the outfiit leftt over.

-snip-

I really disagree. Healing was removed for a reason. That reason being to make planning bosses more challenging AND PREDICTABLE.
Before they had to plan for having a healer so that each boss wasn't a complete pushover which meant that you needed a healer. It was inherently restrictive. Now you don't need a high investment for the same purpose which means you can slap barrier on any mage and fill the roll at a cost of 1 point as opposed to a cost of the entire character.
I'd love more support options don't get me wrong. Bring back the rest of creation and entropy. Not healing just because.
Healer spec would be even worse. It would make every encounter need to account for it which would almost require you to slot the one character who has it in ala anders/merill.

I imagine I'll be happy enough no matter what, but a combo of all these things would make my life.

Big Things:

  • Race choice: either with one background for a very personal story (ex-slave), or a little origin story for each race. It doesn't have to be something as in depth as DAO's origins, but just something to get a feel of the protag's life before the main story. Especially since we know little about actual life in Tevinter, it'd be a good way to get an idea.
  • Personal story for the protag. No matter what the over-arching story is, this should be an element. The Inquisitor didn't until Trespasser (which was done excellently).
  • 2/2/2 romance split (2 straight, 2 gay, 2 bi). Choice for everyone! Preferable options: a gay/bi 'knight in shining armour' type, a dwarf (probably Harding), a straight/bi female elf (if we can play a male elf).
  • Sidequests with an engaging story and moral choices. Variety too. Similar to TW3 or ME1. Fewer zones to explore, but with stronger story content for each of them. Should have some ties to a major plotline (e.g like how we visit the Western Approach and Adamant Fortress - tie them together). We should also hear about the consquences before the epilogue slides - either through dialogue, characters reappearing to thank/confront you, people dying etc. Trespasser had some great consequences from characters' personal arcs.
  • Well developed towns and cities. Val Royeaux was a tiny thing. We could do with something the size of Kirkwall as the main city (but with more time spent on bringing it to life, like TW3's Novigrad). A few towns or villages in the major zones would be a good idea too. We should also see events in the city that have been mentioned before (like magisters duelling in the street!)
  • Companions with a strong presence. DA2 did this the best so far. You could call on them for input or actions. They had their own personal space. They had a few proper personal quests. They had many interactions with each other outside of banter. Companions should also comment on each other's personal quests! They had more involvement in major plots. I also really loved moments like companions visiting Hawke after his/her mother dies. Oh, also some casual conversation with them, like the Trespasser convos. It doesn't always have to be about a 'big issue'.
  • Advisors, or some other important npc with a close link to our group (Dorian and Maevaris?)
  • No recurring party members. I'd love to see Dorian and Fenris again, but I wouldn't want them to be in the party again. It's always a weird dynamic and they never feel as close to the new protag as the original.
  • Dual protagonists: new one and Inquisitor, focusing on different things. At the very least, the Inquisitor needs to be involved in Solas' fate.

Little Things:

  • Two voice options again. This adds replay value for me, and ups the chances of finding a voice you love. Both SM and AWR were fantastic.
  • Better bodies: more muscle on the female characters - something like the athletic figures they have in light Qunari armour. Male elves without broken arms (something closer to their DAO proportions). Little more meat on female elves. Closer to Solas and Sera's proportions.
  • DA2 tactics system
  • DAI combat: aside from the lack of tactics, I really enjoyed it. There are a few things I'd improve though, like making a talent 'lock-on' to a target if you initiate one. That's how it worked in DAO/DA2, and it meant the talent/ability always connected.
  • Bring back spirit healer spec. Vivienne had resurgence to revive and heal everyone, the spirit tree had barriers and rivival... why not just consolidate these things into a spirit healer tree and boost effects?
  • DAI crafting: I really liked the idea of armour and weapon schematics, so I'd love for them to return. Every available armour should have a schematic though, and there shouldn't be lots of NPCs running around with armour we can't have.
  • A variety of casual clothes from the start!
  • Black Emporium in the main game. And the golden nug, I love it so much!
  • Decent hair! That includes beards and eyebrows. Just give it a little life and better styles. There are a million different shaped eyebrows outside of 'caveman', lots of plaits, braids, buns, ponytails and other tied-back hair. Lots of fringe styles, textures, bobs, pixie cuts... please consult someone who knows hair!
  • More tattoos: how come we couldn't keep the DAO styles and have new ones too?
  • Don't make poor relationships lock-out quests. In DA2, you could do a companion's personal request regardless of their approval rating. It should just change how they behave (Viv's has this).
  • The art style of the party selection cards, quest banners and codex entries can return. Those are beautiful! The text would be better without all-caps.
  • Trevor Morris' music!
  • Sandal

Edit: Ok, I'll stop now!

Dramatically cut back on the tedious fetch quests

Reconsider how they integrate secondary quests into the main narrative

Reconsider how they deliver secondary quests (preferably not via corpse strewn notes)

Less busy work (astraria and shards, for example)

Return to cinematic camera conversations

New player character (Inquisitor, if present, can play a secondary role similar to Hawke in DA:I)

More nuanced depictions of antagonists.

A greyer morality system (particularly important in a fourth game that is centered around Tevinter)

More answers to the questions that I have been asking since the beginning of the series: e.g. origins of the Fade, nature of the Old Gods and the Black City, existence of the Maker

Reward player exploration and make it less humdrum (every level in DA:I started the same: pitch camp and speak to scout Harding)

Reward the completion of quests with insights into lore and characters, not with discardable loot (I'm looking at you, Tomb of Fairel)

Either go with a real open-world system, or return to the more linear design of DA:O or DA:2. Inquisition was a weird middle-ground: large, discrete zones that were sparsely populated

If Bioware does go with a true open-world system, implement a day-night cycle to increase immersion. It's also absurd that you can't swim.

Someone suggested a nice system prior to the release of DAI.

Two (hidden) meters that would define both how companions like you, and how they respect you...

It may be harder to implement, but it would allow for more nuances...

1.The side quest story is just lazy in da:i  .Before the dlcs, even the main story is not that great, besides of the winter palace. Just put some of the efforts into side quest story, make some memorable npcs.

2.Everyone loves the open world, but is it too much to ask to make a better story line or timeline or whatever to guide the main story? After we got to skyhold everything just rush in and story line kind became a blur.

3.PLZ make the elements we picked up along the way feel more present, this power system is not popular in ME3 and it is not welcomed in DA:I. Make our efforts count plz.

4.Combat is , how to say, lack of elements of surprise. I know it's hard to make rpg combat system, but the current one is just...i don't know -- too predictable. Sometimes, boring. I think a actual weakness system could add more element into the combat, and if it is random,we can have more fun when play it again.

5.PLZ dealt down on the collective quest, for replay it is just nightmare. Every time i try to play it again i have to encourage myself, cez they r just torture after the first time.

6. Stop using so much codex ! Some should be act by cutscene or dialogue ! Reading so much things are too demanding for a game anyway = =.

7. Next time, try make a non-stereo type  gay companion ,like Kaidan in Mass Effect.

8. Jump is fantastic, how about make us fly next time?

9. I'd love some underwater actions or at least let us swim.

10. Can i have a combat pet again?PLZ!PLZ!

Everyone wants a million choices but you can't make too many. IF you do you get the good ole retcon/invalidation.
Bioware really shouldn't listen to us tbh. This fandom is never happy with what they get.

I would like them to listen to us on some points like bringing back strategic play but keeping the action gameplay stay as well.

And fixing the tactical cam and tactics menu.

But your right lol some people will always find something to complain. About lol they could complain how there wasn't a tree where they thought there should be one of they had to.

<p>

FIRST I MUST SAY THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING THE MAGE HAND AUTO ATTACKS NO ONE EVER DOES.

I WANT THEM SOOOOOO BAD THEY ALLOWED THE MAGE TO MOVE THEY ALSO LOOKED SO MUCH COOLER NOT TO MENTION THEY WERE A BIT SLOWER WHICH I LIKED SO THE MAGE DOESNT FEEL TOO FAST.

Healing- I wouldn't mind Healing back at all but only if it's brought back in a strategical way. Maybe we can have barriers heal only while they are active. Or maybe only healing over time spells or something like that. I don't want to just be able to spam heal and everything is a-ok

Character Creation- I definitely agree I would like for us to be able to control our protagonists body shape plz lol the elves were so skinny. As for hair yes omg like all this time and we don't have moving hair like really? I would definitely take Witcher style hair with a glued clump and some moving parts.

Fenris- lol it would be interesting to see our hot elf guy again for sure. I can just imagine just coming across him while he's just killing tons of Tevinter Slave Masters lol.

More combat Choice- Yea I was they had keep the radial menu for spells. I do hate how u can get more spells than u can actively use it's pretty stupid.

Choices in General- I feel you there of you look back at the alpha at the crest wood mission I loved how we could actually control what our troops did. Not to mention one of our keeps were being acted WHCH IS WHY LIKE WHY THE HELL WOULD U TAKE ANY OF THAT AWAY.

More Armor Variety- I do want more armor for sure. I get so mad that tons of NPCS get amazing armor and yet we don't or some of the armor is the same just a long coat like omg. As for the companion armor I really enjoyed each of them having their own looks maybe just like our PC give us more choices for them as well.

Race Choice- it's a great feature to continue to have in the game but I want race to actually mean something. Maybe have it start our story off differently maybe in a different place or something. Maybe have a companion that hate elves so that if you are a elf then you and that companion have constant problems like how Carver is always a ass no matter what.

More involvement PCs past - for sure origin stories should make a return. Would love to have actually meet my clan and dealing with them personally rather than sending them like a note saying hey I'm the Quizzy Now.

Friendship and Rivalry- I would like to see return of this as well. And how it unlocked different missions and ways the character would act toward you. Would love to actually have to gain someone's trust then maybe totally betray it lol.

More missions like Winter Palace - for sure I loved the winter palace it actually gave us a insight to the game and the Orlesian life style. I would have also like a better formal outfit like even Vivienne was in it and I don't believe she would have wore something like that.

  • Class origins. As in, real, playable, origins, like in DAO. Not a tiny summary of what happened before the explosion. It added more depth to the playable character.  I love my inquisitor to death, but I couldn't connect with him/her on a way I could with Cousland, Mahariel or Aeducan.
  • No leading of organizations.  Something DAO and DA2 did right was the personal level.  Just a regular person that has their life interrupted by some crazy event, such as your entire family being wiped out, being framed for killing a sibling, or having to evacuate your hometown due to a ruthless horde of darkspawn.  I would be fine with leading like a small group of heroes like the last of the Grey Wardens or a small tight-knit group of friends like in DA2.
  • I want a new player character to be among the people 'Solas doesn't know,' which could also allow older companions to reappear, such as Sten, Oghren, Shale, Alistair (if still alive and is Warden), Fenris, Isabela, Sten, Merrill, Aveline, Tallis (Please BW) and so on. If DA4 will be continuing from the plot threads opened up in Trespasser, the Inquisitor and the advisors and possibly the LI, is a must.  Not as a playable character, but as a guiding force, kinda like Duncan in Origins.  The Inquisitor wouldn't be able to fight for obvious reasons, but there is a story to wrap up there regarding Solas.  So the Inquisitor could easily be used as an advisor role like Cullen, but would be the one guiding the new PC along in a Duncan-ish capacity.
  • If we are going to Tevinter next, it needs to be done right.  There is so much lore that could be revealed from within the Imperium, as we've been on the outside this whole time.  It could also easily tie back to Corypheus, more Blight lore, and it could also tie back into Solas' plan and the fate of the ancient elves as well.  It's almost too perfect to pass up.
  • Race selection, obviously.  It opens up greater potential for storytelling, and keeps people playing your game.
  • HAIR! I cannot begin to describe how disappointed I was when I realized that I couldn't really make the Qunari female from the race selection card at the beginning of the game.  We need longer hair Bioware and we need realistic physics WITH that hair.
  • BODY TYPES! Kinda like in SWTOR.  I know it can be done, Bioware.
  • Inventory access in combat
  • More variety in animations.
  • HEALERS and BLOOD MAGIC. Bring them back.
  • Less focus on the multiplayer mode.  I get it, it's an EA thing that they won't greenlight a SP only game.  That's fine.  But Bioware, you are renowned for your storytelling expertise.  Give even more focus to that when it comes to downloadable content.  Take the Origins DLC for example.  That was a perfect way to go about doing it.  Give us big story DLC (Awakening), smaller ones (Stone Prisoner, Golems of Amgarrak), companion driven DLC (Leliana's song), and then the epilogue dlc (Witch Hunt, Trespasser.)  Basically, continue to build your world.  This was done really well in Inquisition, for the most part.  Tell the higher ups, I'll pay any reasonable amount of money for story DLC.  I've never touched multiplayer, never really intend to because I disagree with it's existence in these types of games in the first place.  If it has to be there, fine.  But please realize that there is a large SP audience out here, and we want more of your world.
  • Interesting world-building side quests. I'm not one to really complain about grinding or fetch quests (played too much SWTOR and Destiny and got used to it), but please tweak your side quests to make them more compelling.  There was a large variety of side quests in DAI, but a lot of the time they felt like chores.  Try to find a way to help them fit into the larger narrative as well, in the manner of the Witcher 3.
  • Would love to get some more Dwarfy stuff in the next game.  Possibly a little more interaction with the world as well when it comes to the dwarves, something I feel was kinda lacking in DA2 and Inquisition.
  • Keep the open world of Inquisition.  It added so much to the game, and is a very welcome addition to any future installments.
  • I don't know how world spanning you plan on making DA4, but I would like to see more of the northern part of Thedas if Tevinter is the setting.  Seheron, Nevarra, Rivain, the Anderfels, the Free Marches...a lot of untapped potential there. I would also love to see more Dwarven areas such as Orzammar and the Deep Roads. Personal request is add more claustrophic areas to the Deep Roads. Narrow tunnels, and that sort of thing.  Adding the atmosphere the Deep Roads had in Origins would also be welcome. Possibly a lost Dwarven city....? I also loved the Elven ruins as well. Being in the North in the game could also tie in to some plot threads that you currently have open, the prime example being whatever is going on in the Anderfels, also allowing a return for Hawke.
  • Oh, and since this is a Dragon Age wishlist, it would feel incomplete without saying this: Let me see the Hero of Ferelden again!

There is probably more to all this, but I can't really think of anymore at the moment.  Basically just tweak Inquisition to that and it will be perfect in my view.
