I want that Krogan in the trailer to be the embodyment of kindness, compassion, idealism, and Lawful-Goodness. Just as a switch from the standard cynical, blood-thirsty Krogans we get. I would like another snarky shuttle/ship Pilot like Joker/Cortez, maybe switch the genders and/or races to avoid accusations of character recycling? And lastly lets get another morally complex rogue like Zevran/Isabela/Kitsumi.

If we get another military protagonist, I hope one of the Alliance squadmates is a grizzled Master Chief cut from a similar cloth as Colonel Quaritch or Sergeant Major Plumley.
The Asari squadmate (commando?) should be a little bit more a renegade snarkster to set her apart from Liara and Samara. She should be more humorous than cruel however, so as not to seem like Aria 2.0. She should also be voiced by Laura Bailey. ![]()
A Batarian who isn't a slaver, pirate, mercenary, criminal, or a human-hating douche.
A Synthetic squadmate. Since the Council isn't too keen on creating artificial intelligences, maybe it should be an Andromeda local. Or instead of a fully synthetic squadmate, maybe one that is a cyborg.

I think the plot will be similar to ME1. Newcomers on the scene. However, we are forging alliances (doing story missions or side missions) to gain the favor of a particular Andromedan (?) race(s) [While alienating {heh} other race(s) in the process]. Meanwhile, we stumble upon something (ancient alien tech). Finding out the truth, and the truth having potential to secure humanities (and the other Milky Way species) dominance in the region, we try to unlock its potential. While doing so, we gain the attention of the gate keepers (to the ancient alien race), that wants the technology for themselves [possibly to bring back this ancient race].

If Andromeda is going to going to have some elements that have a Space-Western feel, a staple character from old Westerns who've been given a Sci Fi update would be a good fit. A character who is a gunslinger for example, or a bounty hunter. The best example of that sort of character is Han Solo in A New Hope.

I went ahead and typed up my ideas. I hope this isn't too disjointed and is easy to understand. Squadmates will be in a separate post.
· Several years before ME1 a think-tank of scientists is formed after numerous independent discoveries of unnatural, cyclical galactic extinction events. This think-tank, ARKCON, has the goal of creating an “ark” to get the races of the Milky Way to safety before the next galactic extinction event. They get little support from the Council, little more than stipends to do more research…. until Sovereign attacks the Citadel.
· After the attack on the Citadel the Council sees the value in creating an ark to escape the coming Reaper threat. To prevent panic and unrest the Council funnels money and resources to the project in secret. Through access to top-secret Council projects and resources secured by Spectres, ARKCON is able to come up with a method of escaping to another galaxy: using eezo-bombs in the galactic core to create ripples in space-time and open a wormhole leading to another galactic core.
· ARKCON also acquires two Rachni queens to create drones to aid the workforce in constructing the Ark. In addition, after Shepard successfully enters the galactic core and wipes out the Collectors therein ARKCON is able to enter the galactic core to confirm their theory and take advantage of millions of years worth of alien tech from the ships littering the core. Among the wrecked ships is a Prothean vessel with 500 living Protheans in cryostasis. The Protheans offer their knowledge and assistance.
· Quarians are recruited for their knowledge of long-term ship habitation and their technical expertise. Batarians and Krogans are recruited for their combat prowess and to add to the workforce. Raloi are recruited for their skill in traversing harsh/rugged terrain and their innate immunity to most toxins, bacteria and viruses.
· The Ark includes roughly 10,000 each of humans, Turians, Asari, Salarians, Volus, Elcor and Hanar, roughly 7,500 each of Batarians, Krogan, Drell, Rachni and Raloi, roughly 2,500 Quarians, and 500 Protheans. The Ark also contains the genetic material to birth tens of thousands of each race, minus the Protheans and Rachni.
· Ark leadership, also dubbed the Council, consists of a 3-person panel. One chair is for the elected official from the Civilian Delegation(CD), which is comprised of non-military and –science personnel as well as Ark security/police. One chair is for the elected official from the Sciences Division(SD), which handles the obvious as well as Ark maintenance and environmental systems. The last chair is for the highest ranking military official. The military handles all away missions and can institute martial law in cases of extreme civilian unrest.
· The Ark has an AI derived from EDI(a copy of whom was stolen from Cerberus by Blake Hall; more on him later), called ALI(Allie) that monitors the Ark and assists in scientific endeavors. ALI is also studied in organic emotions and behavior to assist Ark security in preventing crimes/incidents before they happen(think “Big Brother” meets ‘Minority Report’). ALI also exploited a perceived opening in her operational restrictions to contact the non-Heretic Geth and secretly “download” Geth programs to the Ark. Her rationale was that they could assist her in her duties and that they are living beings deserving of being saved. ALI and the Geth remain “shackled.”
· The military forms a special unit of N7 soldiers to handle away missions while exploring new worlds and facing potential hostiles. The unit is made up of members from almost every species and is broken into a dozen different squads. One squad is comprised of hand-picked personnel that are meant to represent the best of the best(this is your squad; more on them later). The other squads are your MP characters. They’ll look like the characters you customize in MP.
· Your PC is a Chief Warrant Officer on security duty for a group of ARKCON scientists acquiring resources at Freedom’s Progress when the Collectors attacked. The rest of the security detail were taken but you got yourself and all of the scientists away from the Collectors. As a gesture of goodwill from the military to the Sciences Division you are made a squad leader in the special N7 unit. Specifically the “best of the best” squad. This does not endear you to your squad, your unit, or the military brass.
· When the Reaper invasion begins, ARKCON launches the Ark, leaving behind the Citadel Council. The eezo bombs are detonated and a wormhole forms. It leads to the Andromeda galaxy’s Helius cluster, 100,000 years later.
· When the Reapers arrive on Earth your PC is once again on security duty, this time for SD and CD leadership who are meeting with top Alliance officials. And once again you save them from danger and get them back to the Ark. This time you’re rewarded with an honorary promotion to Rear Admiral.
· Upon arrival in the Helius cluster, a planet that’s habitable for most of the Milky Way races is quickly found. Your squad explores the planet and finds no signs of danger. Eager to establish a dominant political position the Military leadership decides to go to the planet’s surface for a groundbreaking ceremony. During the ceremony the Khet, your primary enemy faction, make a blitz attack and wipe out the military leadership.
· After retreating off-world, assessing the situation and taking stock it’s discovered that your PC is now the highest ranking military official and thus a member of the Ark’s leadership council. You’re now thrust into political scheming, backbiting, squabbles and minutia. Threats of mutiny within the military force your PC to remain N7 and away team squad leader to garner support from the rank and file.
· The Khet(who are not native the cluster, want to claim all Remnant tech, and in my head look like Jackalman in armor that looks sort of like Javik’s for some reason) are able to cloak their ships from detection. While exploring another world our squad finds a Remnant “vault” and manages to avoid it’s defenses(as seen in the cinematic trailer) and claim a treasure trove of advanced tech. Using this tech SD is able to detect Khet ships, improve Ark defenses, and gain insight in the Andromeda galaxy.
· The more Remnant tech you find the more options you have. You can use Remnant tech to bolster defenses on worlds you colonize, to trade and/or ally with local alien races or to upgrade your military fleet. Fortifying your colonies can bolster civilian support and help cement a foothold in the cluster, but Khet can still attack. Trading tech with local races can forge strong alliances. Upgrading your fleet can aid in the fight against the Khet.
· After a time you come to the conclusion that no matter what you have to expel the Khet from the cluster to have any sort of security for your colonies and freedom to collect Remnant tech. To successfully take on the Khet you must garner political support from the CD and/or SD, have a powerful fleet, and have alien allies to aid you. This is similar to the ‘suicide mission’ mechanic but without the focus on squad member’s loyalty and daddy issues. To gain the support of the CD you have to keep colonies safe and make concessions to their demanding leadership, or remove their Councilor from authority(via political sabotage or a risky assassination) to install a supportive replacement. To get the support of the SD to need to gather LOTS of Remnant tech for them and show a willingness to support scientific discovery over military might and civilian safety. Going against the CD too much can lead to attempts to oust you or assassinate you. Going against the military too much can lead to mutiny and/or squadmates turning on you. Maintaining military support AND getting the support of the CD and SD is extremely difficult.
· Taking on the Khet is made more difficult you don’t have enough support from the Ark, haven’t upgraded your fleet enough, and haven’t made enough local allies.
· Throughout the game you will encounter Khet leaders that act as mini-bosses.
· There are Biotics in the Andromeda galaxy. The Helius cluster has an abundant supply of eezo.

Squadmates.
· Marilyn Worth / Crowley - Female Human engineer. Modeled after and played by Nathalie Emannuel. An N7 operative skilled in explosives, sabotage and assassination. For years she was an "off the books" operative, dealing primarily in wetwork and sabotage in the interest of human advancement. She shows signs of sociopathy with flashes of passion and empathy. Basically a sexy ice queen. It is eventually revealed that Marilyn was an assassin for hire(under the alias Crowley) during her time as a sanctioned rogue operative and compromised an Alliance mission for pay. Romanceable. Bisexual.
· Blake Hall - Male Human infiltrator. Modeled after and played by Dan Stevens. An N7 operative skilled in hand to hand combat, infiltration, investigative techniques and "reading" people. Basically James Bond in space, he formerly infiltrated Cerberus and took down a dozen high ranking Cerberus leaders, shut down dozens of Cerberus operations, and had a hit put on his head by the Illusive Man himself. He's suave, persuasive, manipulative, and always working an angle. Romanceable. Bisexual.
· Eris Muliat - Female Drell vanguard. Formerly personal security for Hanar dignitaries and politicians. Outwardly stoic and cold but personable and fun loving once her guard is down. Also fiercely loyal to her friends. Looks like this but with coloration like this. Romanceable. Straight.
· Kardan Sarak - Male Krogan sentinel. Born on Thessia and raised by an Asari Matriarch to be skilled in countless forms of art and combat, he's a powerful warrior with an even temper on and off the battlefield. He has no love for Krogans and prides himself on his intellect and controlled emotions. He’s not an open book at all and is reluctant to get to know members of short-lived races like humans, Salarians and Turians because to him time is a resource.
· Rani D’Roava - Asari Commando soldier. Modeled after and played by Maika Monroe. Born to a wealthy and influential amoral family on Illium but disowned after joining the Asari military. Despite a total lack of biotic abilities she quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the youngest Commandos and the first Commando with no biotic abilities. She's hotheaded and cocky on the battlefield but quick-witted and sarcastic off. She uses her sexual wiles to get what she wants. Romanceable. Bisexual.
· Darith Sebfugar - Male Batarian adept. Formerly the commander of a special Batarian task force with the goal of policing Batarian pirates and slavers to avoid political and military blowback. Usually personable and jovial but sometimes abrasive and argumentative, he's a staunch believer in moral relativism and solipsistic greed/personal enrichment. Also deeply introverted and sometimes moody. Basically a likable pr!ck that doesn’t tolerate sentimentality and platitude-based nonsense(there’s no ‘I’ in team; everyone is special; family is everything, etc).
· Raal’Moto vas Fleet - Male Quarian sentinel. A special operative for the Flotilla tasked with acquiring resources and intelligence for the fleet by whatever means necessary. Essentially a Quarian Robin Hood, preying on the rest of the galaxy. Fiercely loyal to his people and deeply distrustful of other races. Entirely adverse to artificial intelligences. He keeps to himself and doesn't open up easily. Even among Quarians he’s an outcast because of his anti-social attitude and moral superiority (“doing anything less than dedicating your entire self to the Fleet is to act against your people”).
· Galena Tremodos - Female Turian vanguard. Formerly the leader of a Turian Cabal, she was personally assigned to this team by the Turian Councilor. Nothing is known to the rest of the crew about her personally and she seems to have a secret agenda. She’s been tasked with exerting influence over any and all key players in the Ark mission to position the Turian leadership in a more powerful role. Her affection might be a façade. Romanceable. Bisexual.
· Jondum Bau - Male Salarian soldier. Salarian Spectre. Totally task oriented. Restless without a mission. Constantly tinkering with weapons and other tech to keep his mind sharp and his inner monologue subdued. Secretly a lover of “young adult” fiction. Especially with wizards. Romanceable. Straight.
I realize Jondum Bau being on the Ark in this scenario is a bit of a retcon, but I'm alright with that.

Perhaps I'm just a gutton for punishment, but I want a character with the last name "Sheperd" that people keep thinking is actually THE Sheperd that you played as in ME, that goes to the Andromeda galaxy because (s)he is just so sick of hearing about this amazing marine that isn't them. Obviously this character's abilities should change based on what you chose for your character's class if they have some "import" feature. So if you imported say, an Infiltrator Sheperd, the fake Sheperd would be a Vanguard.
I'd also like a volus squadmate too. One that is an engineer. I'm tired of cute engineer girls. We need a nerdy, uncomfortable one. It could even be easily explained because the volus see the new galaxy as a new way to amass wealth and power for themselves.
An Asari infiltrator. Seriously, they haven't made a single "bond" like Asari yet? Weird. You'd think that would be the first thing done. The sexy battle seductress that has like some biotic punch like Kasumi's rapid shadow strike. Sure she sounds like she'd be a bit overpowered abilities wise, but considering she'd more than likely be controlled by the AI... I don't care. No reason to limit possible characters for the sake of balance.
I want a super militaristic turian. Seeing as how Garrus always commented on how bad of a turian he was, I want an actual GOOD turian on the team. Like so patriotic that it's almost sickening to me. I need more polarizing characters that don't annoy me because they are poorly written, but because I don't like them as a person. I love characters that I can hate because I they evoke emotions in me and not just "ehhh..."

I just joined the forum and wrote out a plot on a topic today, but I still have a restriction to post. So I'm currently awaiting moderator approval. Hopefully if or when you guys read this post, you'll be able to read my plot idea!
As far as characters go definitely want asari and turians. Sadly I fell in love with the characters from the previous mass effect games so its hard to want something different haha
