Not that they'd want to, for obvious reasons.

But if they were so inclined - if the dwarves were doing well enough trading with other surface nations and Bhelen/Harrowmont/Whoever decided their relationship with Tevinter was too risky for the current political climate, could Tevinter retaliate effectively?

Even if they didn't have lyrium, they could just go around sacrificing slaves... until they ran out of slaves, and started going after Liberati/Soporati. Orzammar's population is over 100,000 according to the wiki, but Minrathous alone has got to have at least a few million people. Assume that Tevinter's fighting the qunari at the same time they go after the dwarves, and the dwarves themselves are fighting the darkspawn like always...

Are the mages of Tevinter powerful enough to cause earthquakes/rockslides with the potential to eradicate a city, or is dwarven engineering too ingenious for that? Does Tevinter have any allies, like.. at all?

Would Orzammar be willing to ally with Par Vollen if it meant their survival?

Again, this is a rather silly question because Tevinter and Orzammar are bros, but my (surface :P) dwarf stabbed that map and I got to wondering what if~

Well Tevinter does have the numbers and mages unlike dwarves. However, Orzammar has the advantage of battlefield by living in underground. I bet the dwarves of Orzammar has contigency plans surrounding topside invasion like mages somehow causing earthquake-like devastation and fortify their buildings.

It also helps that Orzammar lives in a place surrounded by darkspawn. I see it as a double-sided sword. Living near darkspawn has been detrimental to dwarven lifestyle and culture, but I bet it is one of key reasons why not many want to invade Orzammar because they don't want darkspawn to crawl out of dwarven gates unstopped.

Do not underestimate the dwarves, they live close to darkspawn, and the Legion has been successful on keeping away the horde and even regaining some Thaigs, also, Rock Wraiths and Sha-Brytol are far worse than most of darkspawn.

I know Qunari are not kitties either, Saraath (at least for gameplay purpose) let Corypheus looking as a tiny sucker, however, they have kicked out the Qunari and dwarves have kicked darkspawn on the quality of locals, in such invasion, Tevinter would lose that advantage while the dwarves would keep it, also you are considering Tevinter's political situation, fighting Qunari at the time they try to invade Orzammar with no allies and counting that the Magisters tend to disagree to the point they often kill each other, the cards really seems to be playing against Tevinter in that scenario, unless you have more than one overpowered dreamer like Titus.

And no, I don't think Orzammar would ally with Par Vollen under any situation, both are too rigid with their beliefs.

Oooh, I didn't even think about that. I was thinking of the darkspawn as a disadvantage, but they're also a pretty good deterrent aren't they? Orzammar acts as a buffer between the darkspawn and everyone else, yeah - so even if you discount darkspawn crawling up and flooding the surface, no other military is going to want to creep down there and fight them on their turf. >___>

And the dwarves must be really clever architects, or else just sentimental - 'cause I know I would have collapsed the Deep Roads or flooded them if it seemed that hopeless. I guess they really do think they can reclaim more Thaigs.

I dunno, Sten did say they were onto something with the caste system.

As other's have said, Tevinter has no allies; they're Lyrium would be cutoff so they'd have to rely on Blood Magic and even then I am sure some of them are addicted to lyrium.

Then there's their partnership with the Chantry and the rest of Thedosian countries. That and they simply can't March to Orzamar since that means crossing borders of Nevarra, Free Marches, Orlais/Ferelden, so they'd have to do it via Deep roads .... which is obviously no. They have a friendly relationship with the Avvars of the Frostback, but mostly because the Avvars act as a deterrent from Orleisian/Ferelden "interests" (not sure where I read that)

Let not forget that raw Lyrium is Harmful to non-dwarves and deadly to Mages if they're just near it. They can just line gates, weapons, etc with raw lyrium which should insta-kill any magister regardless of power

orzammar will not survive without Tevinter, not in the past and not in the future....and future will be with elves soo...titans worship and eating lyrium

As a piece of a pie Tevinter can destroy Orzammar or Kal-Sharok if they will need, and anyone if they really need

The little people obey the big people and serve them so they can live and prosper.

Why would they? The Tevinters love dwarves. They go way back. The dwarves even butchered elven runaways just to keep their Tevinter allies happy.

Hell naw. They'd be too distracted with their blood-drinking and baby-sacrificing to put up a real fight.
