Since they closed the Lobby I don't really see a place to post this in so here is a good as place as any. I played The Baluder's gate game and neverwinter nights but never finished them. The first Bioware game I actually played all the way through was Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic which had one. They've written them better and better over the years
Have all the Bioware games had romance options?

I've played KotOR, SWtOR, Jade Empire, DA:O, Awakening expansion, DA2, DA:I, ME1-3 and all of them had romance options.

Baldur's Gate did not have romances, though Baldur's Gate 2 did. Mods have since made some character in BG1 romanceable and expanded the list of romanceable characters in BG2
And the Baldur's Gate Enhanced Eddition has new characters which Charname can "pre-romance" (they reappear in BG2 and can be fully romanced there.)
Neverwinter Nights did not have romances until it's second expansion, Hordes of the Underdark

Neverwinter Nights does have a romance option for female PCs - Aarin Gend. It's not a big romance arc or anything, but it is kind of sweet.

In the future I would like to see them not so one sided, because it's mostly you coming on to the other person it would be. Maybe in the future one of the female NPC's could show some interest first

You get problems both ways, though. Both Leliana and Liara made moves on the character pretty early on, before the character did, and a lot of people resented being "ninja-manced" or felt like they were being forced into one choice over another. Bioware can't win.

it seems more immersive to me I didn't know people complained about it, I just see it as character building in a way.

Well... Shattered Steel had no hot mech on mech action. Nothing in MDK2 either. I didn't play Sonic Chronicles, but I'd be extremely surprised if Sonic was getting any action.

Baldur's Gate 2 was the first Bioware game to have romances. All their major games since then have had it. Mass Effect Galaxy, a mobile game set between ME1 and ME2 with Jacob Taylor as the protagonist, has Jacob and Miranda get together at the end of it. I don't believe Mass Effect Infiltrator, a mobile game set during ME3, has any romance in it.
I believe they did a licensed Sonic the Hedghog game years and years ago. Don't think that had romance in it.
First gay romance was either KOTOR (female PC could explore a small amount of content with Juhani) or Jade Empire.

You could even have a child with Aerie. It would take up an item slot in your inventory. ![]()

And Anomen gave you a weeding ring you could wear. Very romantic.
Nice ideas they could also make them possible in DA. Just little goodies, but sooo sweet.
Are there other ROLEPLAYING games (NOT Bioware) where you can have romances like this? I know that Bethesda don't really have (Elder Scrolls).

There aren't very many RPGs like Bioware's at all.
The only ones that come to mind are:
Wasteland 2 (No Romances)
Kingdom of Amalur (Iffy likeness, No Romances)
And that is about it. TES isn't really similar to Bioware's rpgs at all, neither is The Witcher (despite the many people who insist on comparing the two). No JRPG is at all similar either. So its kind of a moot question (sadly, since I love these games).
Torment: Tides of Numenera is coming soon and is supposedly based off Planscape: Torment so it should be similar to DA although I don't know about romances.

The Witcher has romances. Not so much in the first game but they worked on them during the course of the games and improved them. Actually, I think they did a pretty good job.
I *believe* there are romances in the Fables series, too, but I'm not entirely sure. The same goes for the Final Fantasy games. I think they have romance but since I haven't played them I'm not sure. However, I've read somewhere that especially Final Fantasy VII has a good romance.
When it comes to romances in RPGs, BioWare is somehow in the leading position. It surprises me that other developers of RPGs haven't explored the romances path further. A lot of players seem to like them and quite a few video games that aren't RPGs integrated romances in their stories (my personal favorite is the one between Max Payne and Mona Sax in Max Payne 2
). So, I wonder romances aren't more common in RPGs.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption is an old RPG where the romance is driving the main plot. There are no important choices to make, but the entire story revolves around crusader-knight turned vampire Christof Romuald trying to reunite with Anezka, the nun he fell in love with. Two out of three possible endings are really bad though.
(That game is my guilty pleasure. It hasn't aged well at all, the controls are clunkiness itself, writing and voice acting can be fairly wooden, but I really like the characters.)

Final Fantasy games often have romance as part of their storylines, but its not the same as "romancing" in that there is no choice about it for the player. It will happen regardless. Only semi-exception to this is Final Fantasy 10-2, where the romance subplot is always there as a motivation, but how it concludes depends on what ending you get.
Lots of games have romance as part of their storylines, but I can't really think of any outside of Bioware that let the player choose in it. I get the feeling there are some, but I can't think of them at the moment. In most cases its almost always predetermined. The romances (and companion content in general really) are a Bioware standard I really wish more of the industry would imitate.

She gets pregnant in the Throne of Bhaal expansion, but you REALLY have to advance the clock for her to go into labor. I had to console command the timer far enough ahead for it to happen.

Awakening doesn't actually have any romances, yes you could get scene with Alistair and your Warden if you carried your romance through Origin but none of the companions were romance options.

I think the only games I've found similar to BioWare with different romances are the WinterWolves games, that are more hybrids visual novel/RPG. with turn based fights and different choices in the story to make, chance to play as a female or male character, and have both straight and homosexual romances.
For action RPG, if I remember well, there are romances in Bound by Flame, but I haven't played that game, so I can't be sure. I want to, since there is chance to play as male or female protagonist.

I don't think there is games where you can have romances like Bioware's games though there is some sort of romance in many games. I think Witcher might be closest of BW in romances.

Planescape: Torment had two mild romances (Falls From Grace and Annah-of-the-Shadows) but due to their natures, could not have physical relationships.
Alpha Protocol has four women Mike Thorton could romance. You could romance any or all of them in a single playthrough (he is a secret agent, after all). One of them, at least, is doomed.
I haven't verified this for myself, but I have heard that the protagonists of Divinity: Original Sin can become romantically involved by the end.
That's all I can really think of. Curious how romance haters keep grumbling that romances are taking over rpgs and turning them into dating simulators, when there's rally very little outside Bioware that does them.

You also get a letter from Leliana or Zevran if you romanced them (it was originally bugged so you never received it, but was later fixed)

A couple of the older Obsidian titles (Knights of the Old Republic 2 and Neverwinter Nights 2/Mask of the Betrayer) have romances that are similar to Bioware's.
There are others that offer them to a degree (seen the Witcher games and Alpha Protocol mentioned) but a big difference in those is that you have to play a straight male protagonist and the only romances are with female characters. Which is totally fine! But if you want to play a female character and romance a guy, or (particularly) want to play a LGB character, and especially if you want any degree of choice here, then pickings are very slim outside of Bioware games.
Edit: How about the Persona games? I haven't played them, but they are JRPGs that offer a choice of romances I think. Not sure of the quality of them or anything.
