Anyone going for it? There's no achievement for doing all trials while on Nightmare, so I'm not gonna bother. Hard would be challenging enough. Honestly gaining half the experience and the potion handicaps is probably what's gonna kill people who attempt this.
All trials turned on in Nightmare mode?

The potion handicap basically does the same as you probably will go back more often to replenish your life, but you can compensate it to some degree with skills that heal you or crafting weapons with heal on kill. Besides you play and build much more carefully.

The slow road or what isn't s problem as the even level thing means you will always be able to grind exp to what ever level cap.
The grizzly one is just se weird and high health enemies.
The real problem is the extra skills. The assains will just kill if you if you can't stun the in stealth. Which also means you always have to watch for them. Two assasins will wreck you if you loose track of the
The problem is they stun you and then rip you apart

If I'm allowed to level up to level 27, by killing nugs and only nugs, before leaving Haven I will give it a try.

If you start a new playthrough from tutorial with NM and all trials on. There will be some difficulty in early lvls. During tutorial I had to skip some enemies since Cassandra kept dying to those wraiths. Just now I finished in your heart shall burn with a lvl 4 team fighting lvl 8 promoted red templar hoards (NM with all trials on) and it is not that easy (as an elf mage). Good thing is that once I got the achievement by reaching skyhold as lvl 5 I turned that half xp trial off so I can catch up with enemies in terms of lvl differences.

Im loving walking softly, seeing a mage put down 3 fire mines i immediately went OH ****!. This was what was missing from the combat, unskilled enemies.

I'm running this recently and pre-Skyhold there are some tough challenges. The Pride Demon boss was difficult, especially when elite shadows were spawned. Some mages in the Hinderlands weren't killable because of their rejuvenating barrier.
Finally, the game offers a good challenge even if some things aren't balanced - a good option.

Also the prologue was really fun with everyone at 1hp, I had never noticed you could revive Leliana

Currently running it as a rogue. As other people have said, the upgraded enemies (Walk Softly trial) are the hardest part. Wraiths and assassins can be dangerous but it's actually the upgraded archers that have killed me the most with single-shots. That said I've only had a couple complete party wipes. Having played through several times the game was feeling too easy even running Nightmare with no potions. I was about to try running solo for the challenge even though I tend to find solo play boring. The upgraded enemies have saved me from trying that for now.
Even the elite wraiths and mages are killable with enough burst damage. Before getting to Haven I had to stay out of range and Long Shot some wraiths. After getting to Haven and getting the high level schematics from the Golden Nug I was able to proceed a little less cautiously. I did choose to play as an archer until I got to Skyhold and crafted some guard generating armor. Since then it has been back to my favorite style - dual dagger Tempest. My typical approach is to stealth in, Lightning Flask to kill the mage or archer, Frost Flask to kill the melee trash, Fire Flask and Throwing Blades to kill the high-health enemy. I may have to get more creative for some of the fights in the later DLC. At the moment it is pleasantly challenging but not overly so.
