All in all I think Bioware was relatively successful in ending DAI (more so than ME3). But if they show the Inquisitor in future installments, what would be really awesome is if they gave them some badass prosthetic arm. I know about the crossbow arm in the red jenny epilogue which fits the rogue very well, but maybe an indvidual prosthetic for the warriors and mages. Maybe some sort of armor arm laced with lyrium veins on the inside?

The sky is really the limit if they choose to feature the Inquisitor again.
They could go as simple as a hook or even nothing at all. They could go as complex as a mechanical dwarven-crafted arm (direct from Orzammar!). Can't say I have any real preferences.

I want the organic arm back, but...
ARGH! I'M BEHAVING LIKE A CHILD. STUFF HIT THE FAN. WHAT HAPPENED HAPPENED.
You can't return the Temple of Sacred Ashes. What I wish for is moot. I remain glad it was just an arm.
I keep my respect for the Inquisitor for saving two would-be Gods, going through the Deep Roads and then stopping a Qunari invasion dead cold - an arm seems a small price to pay, but... If I had another choice that didn't involve death, I would've jumped at it. No stopping. No thinking. I would've taken that third choice.
ARGH! A CHILD, AGAIN!

Though I haven't played to this point yet myself...I stumbled on the ending when searching for ways to either kill or (preferably free) the dragon. (how is that done by the way???) And while I understand that if Solas permanently affixed the Anchor to the Inquisitor's hand...and as Cassandra said "....It is killing you...." I can understand the choice of self-preservation- cut off my arm and lose the Anchor (which is killing me anyways) in order to live- BUT at the same time....the sudden appearance of the Inquisitor with only half of their left arm is jarring. I think in terms of logical sequence it would have made sense to show a small cut-scene of having to cut off your own arm...rather than Solas permanently fixing the anchor into your hand (yet you still being alive and whole) one moment....then *fade to black* (Scene change) *In walks the Inquisitor back to the Exalted Council....suddenly missing half an arm*
I found (and still find) that more than a little disconcerting.....seeing the Inquisitor with only half his/her left arm, and to be honest, I find it a little sad. Does anyone else find that scene a little jarring?
And lastly, can anyone tell me how to free the dragon called Artaashi or whatever the Qunari called her? I've tried for hours to kill it to no avail,so I want to try to free it - I never really liked killing dragons anyways.
Thanks Bunches!

Ataashi. "The Great One" in Qunlat.
You can turn the flames so that they hound her towards the gate, then open the gate.
You may need to destroy a cart. Use the Anchor Discharge ability you get in the DLC.

Honestly, I'd prefer it if the Inquisitor's adventuring/fighting days were over. It'd kind of kill the impact of getting the limb removed if they just got a weird steampunk-ey prosthetic afterwards and were just as functional as they were before.
IIRC the Inquisitor actually says in one of the speeches that their adventuring days are done.

Yes. Meaning they are likely not getting the arm back. Or even a prosthetic.
For some reason, I consider the loss of an arm the worst of all the outcomes for all three protagonists.
And that's with the Warden having the Taint or just dead. Hawke potentially having no family left, or being dead. The Inquisitor is the only one who can't be dead. For now. DA4 will probably give us a choice.......

Imagine before inquisition came out if they told us in the fourth game we would play a character with a crossbow for an arm and imagine the reactions :L

Death over losing half an arm?
It's crazy, right!
But that's how I think. I'd rather die than lose an arm.
It's... weird. But that bit is no news for me. It's who I am.
Edit: And you know what, Lyn? I need to play again.
I need that to get over it. And I need to get over it, because it's still a beautiful ending for a beautiful story.

I play the piano and losing a limb would just devastate me. However, if the only way to save my life was to lose it, I would. Life over death every time.

Said it once, say a thousand
Fully functional prothestics shouldn't be in the setting
Since the setting already has golems, prosthetics isn't much of a leap.
There's actually a metal left arm in the Darvaraad magic store room already, opposite the wolf statue.

Getting shot in my second favorite drinking arm would devastate me... oh... wait... I'm not Max Payne...
I said it before and I'll say it again:
If Götz von Berlichingen had a metal arm prostetic that could hold shields, reins or a feather pen and enabled him to fight more wars and feuds in the next ~50 years of his life, why shouldn't the Inquisitor get something like that?
Especially when we have people around that are able to produce far more advanced things compared to the stuff a smith could do around 1500.

Prosthetic 1: Electroshock gauntlet like the gloves in Legend of Korra.
Prosthetic 2: Hooks, based on real-life myoelectric prosthetic hooks
Prosthetic 3: B*tchin' crossbow
My quizzy is an artificer who knows Dagna, Varric, and Bianca. Awesome prosthesis, here we come!

You'd think a mage Inquisitor would have it easier since they could focus magic into moving parts of a prosthetic...

I would love to have automail. Especially since I planned for one of my Rogues to be like Lan Fan, who also lost her left arm.

Depends on the character:
- Female, soft, nice Inquisitor Lady of mine: Regrown the arm back with magic (usable only 50 %) but .... still "looks normal". I can't and I don't want to imagine my Inquisitor Lady with a crossbow or a Hook... NO WAY.
I'm so sad for her at the moment. I'm really desperate. Feel like Bioware have destroyed my personal character. (The ending was great and losing the arm was ok, but now I want something to ... WAHH SHE CAN'T LOOK LIKE THIS, call me girlie ... gmrfgl).
![]()
- Male crazy, wild Inquisitor fellow of mine: A sword like this (not exactyl, but I like it): https://www.google.c...iw=1565&bih=946
Bioware always do horrible things to our Heroes somehow ...
Hero of Ferelden: Lost in action
Hawke: Lost in action (ending picture of Varric in Trespasser say my Hawke is back in Kirkwall)
Inquisitor: Invalid
Shepard: DEAD! (this was the hardest one ... and don't talk about the ME3-DLC, they wanted to kill my Shepard first ... forever ... )
![]()
I'm really fearful what they will do to the DA4 hero ....
I would prefer a few more choices what I want to do with my hero: Let him die, let him live, how will he live, how will he look like and so on. I want a few more personal choices at the end for MY character.
