My playthru has HoF romanced Warden or King Alistair there is no resolution or mention in Trespasser of this option, only Zevran and Leliana.

...when was Zevran referenced in Trespasser?

They are making sweet love to Leli at a lake villa. There's your closure.
And I'm... okay with that.

They're either retired with their loved ones, or they're dead. Why do they need more exposition?

Careful. If people keep insisting they're not satisfied with Bioware's explanation, they'll tell us the HoF actually died during the Blight and has been a lyrium ghost this entire time.
And people call me a pessimist, Carver.

It's middle late of the 2015, and yet there are some people who fail to grasp that the HoF is over narratively speaking
Yes, the HoF's story is over. The problem is that two distinct arcs exist:
- The Hero of Ferelden's arc, which concluded atop Fort Drakon.
- The Warden Commander of Ferelden's arc, which still has a couple of unresolved threads (the Architect, whether the taint can be cured, Grey Wardens' infighting)
And since these two distinct arcs may or may not concern the same character, it creates a whole new host of problems (which is why I'm opposed to schrödingering protagonists' survival)
If you mean the Orlesian stand-in, that is such a non-entity it doesn't even have a Keep entry. Plus, as far as I can remember there have never been any calls for that stand-in to return.
Now I'm feeling ignored. ![]()
It's true that the Orlesian substitute is an underdeveloped character: the fault lies in Bioware using surviving HoFs as the template for Awakening's protagonist and throwing in the Orlesian Warden as an afterthought, never really trying to develop this character.
That doesn't mean it's too late to correct this oversight.
When the time come to bring back Grey Wardens to the forefront (preferably not in DA4, since the sequel baited in Trespasser is already going to have to tackle the Tevinter-Qunari conflict as well as the continuation of Solas' apocalyptic master plan), what I for one would like to see is a story where it's the Orlesian substitute -Not the HoF- who's used as the template for the Fereldan Commander of the Grey, with a personal story arc sufficiently deep to make him/her more than a cypher, while those who brought back a surviving HoF get a few fanservicey scenes and lines of dialog instead of the personal story arc. (that means that, yes, the people whose Warden survived Origins would get less content down the line: but hey: Bioware's games are supposed to be about "Players' choices and hard decisions", right?
)

Even as warden-commander he still eventually retires. IIRC this is in the Awakening epilogue.

There's also the fact the HoF can be dead which is even bigger than the voice problem

And I remember people complaining about the voices for them

Or not. Warden is either retired with their LI or they're dead. People need to come to terms with this. "B-b-but Weisshaupt", what about it? Just because there's issues going on there doesn't mean they're going to come back as a hero.

Jak was not a rpg,and Revans voice is fricken horrible and alot of people complained about his voice. Revans reason for being the villain because of his shitty voice acting is a inside joke on the TOR forums.

Seriously, you guys are making this another 'bring back HoF / HoF is dead' thread?
I started my first post with 'for the people whose wardens are still alive'. Second seeing as BW finally seem to be wrapping up the HoF saga with happy endings pretty much means that they're not going to bring them back on screen. Had they planned to do it, they would've already done it. And for one am cool with the endings we're getting now.
The only unresolved HoF romance I can think of now is with Morrigan.
You do realize you opened this can of worms by putting "HoF" and "story" in the title of the post, right?
I've bounced back and forth on this bandwagon. I would probably squeal and run around my room like an idiot if the HoF did come back, but the ending for my Cousland and her lady spy was actually satisfying. It would be a nice twist or idea if the HoF came back in an advisory role of some sort.

And you think that just because of the voice is that people will cry out; "oh damn the character got a Voice I wished I have never bought this game"

Considering the fact that what Bioware did to Revan and SoR is heavily criticized.....

It seems people will never be satisfied until they see the Warden first-hand having given birth to 8 beautiful blonde children and grown a beard at the size of east Texas as they croak on a glass of wine in their rocking chair -- Even then their story will for some reason not be over, until they've seen some slides of having their character's corpse be burned, cremated and crunched into a fine pink powder to be served as aftershave for Warden recruits or something.
