And of course he is evil.  but not irredemptively so.

Remember he killed/absorbed Flemeth/Mythal and yet he says Mythal was the best of them.   Inclined to agree with him on that one.    When my elf challenged her why she did nothing to help our people, her response was that I did not know what I was asking for.    If the only way to help was Solas' solution then I'm glad Mythal held back.   Mythal also acknowledges modern elves as being of the People.    If Solas thinks like Abelas, which I think may be the case, then while he may be perfectly willing to use the modern elves to achieve his end and kid himself he is helping them, I think ultimately he doesn't regard them as elves in the same way as he does Abelas and co and it is the latter he is trying to restore.

Notice also his economy with the truth about Felassan.   His agent was meant to recover the control of the eluvians from Briala but failed in his mission, so Solas had to do it himself.    Felassan didn't fail; he refused to fulfil it and it now seems it was definitely Solas who killed him for it.   Ironic when you think about it because basically Felassan rebelled against his master.   It wasn't necessary to kill him unless the master of Felassan was just the usual vengeful tyrant.   Since Felassan was fully expecting to die, it seems he knew his master very well.

Yeah.  The over tones of his whole speech at the end of Tresspasser gave serious uh...implications about humanity.  But I have to wonder what will happen to the Dalish and the Dwarves in Solas's 'future'.

Irredemptively...?

I do not believe he can be persuaded.

And I do not know whether I will risk talking to him, or just strike from the shadows.

For I do not fear the Dark. I walk in plain sight, yet Invisible. I am everywhere. I am a Shadow.

Is Felassan definitely dead? Physically, I mean. He was killed in the Fade, and was a powerful mage. Some mages (Dreamers) don't physically die if they are killed in the Fade, they become Tranquil (ie Feynriel from DA2). If Felassan was a dreamer (is it ever explicitly stated otherwise?) then his body could be alive. Maybe we'll find him in DA4, use the Seeker knowledge to reverse the rite, and have him as a companion. With his knowledge of the Dread Wolf, and no doubt feeling hurt and betrayed by his master, he'd be an excellent weapon against Solas, whether you're trying to stop or save him.

Also, I think Solas is on the path to becoming truly evil, but until he does what he sets out to do, he isn't completely irredeemable.

What's wrong with killing Felassan, he betrayed Fen'harel.

Don't think he's evil either.

Have played through twice now with my male elven Inquisitors, both of whom took human lovers because over the course of the game they became less bigoted about other races.    Don't know if this is why Solas keeps referring to "my" people as different from his, but since the game acknowledges I am an elf it may simply be that he doesn't regard the modern elves as his people.

My guess is that they will have the majority of Dalish hooking up with Solas because lets face it, most of them seem a tad stupid and won't get the implications of what he is going to do.    May be ancient elves like Abelas will survive what Solas has planned but I reckon most of the others won't.     Anyway, even though I am entirely pro-elf, I would be trying to stop Solas even if the game wasn't forcing me to.    My elven mage is going to try and prove him wrong.    My canon Inquisitor, my elven hunter/archer assassin (who is now going to have to retrain as a dagger wielder) basically said he do what it takes to stop him.    He has declared Mien'Harel on Solas and his clan at least will be backing him.

I agree. The Inquisition has sworn to:

1) CLOSE THE BREACH

2) FIND THOSE RESPONSIBLE

3) RESTORE ORDER

Ladies. Gentlemen. It seems out work is not yet done.

LITERALLY TRYING TO DESTROY THE WORLD that is pretty irredeemable

Then why create a thread when the point is to discuss it? I mean, you can't just shutdown every one down with: "Nope, he's trying to destroy the world."  "You can't defend him because he's going to destroy the world." "HE'S TRYING TO DESTROY THE WORLD!!!1!!1!!ONE!!"

I don't think the Dalish are stupid.
Sure, probably when recruiting them he isn't telling them the full truth. It might be something the Inquisitor or the next PC might have to have them reason with.

However don't forget that most elves are repressed, enslaved, dreaming about the Arlathan times etc. I'm sure that some elves would not see a problem in sacrificing their life to bring back the world to its ancient days..

Yes, it is. Cole says this:

"His friend had to die. Because he thought they were people. A slow arrow breaks in the sad wolf's jaws."

So, you just made a thread to gloat and refuse to accept what anyone may say in contradiction to you. Okay. Spam thread. And no one is right or wrong, it's how you perceive Solas' character.

I never said racism or potential world destruction are good. You think Solas is an evil, irredeemable person for he wants to do. I do not. But, according to you, my opinion on the matter is wrong so there is no point to explain. Add the fact that you only created this thread to gloat and not have a discussion makes it even more pointless to continue. Good day.

Are we not having a discussion right now, You keep saying I'm not being reasonable but i have provided ample evidence to my side where all you have done is say i'm wrong with no proof can someone besides the Solas fan girl come back so I can have a real debate

Quote me and tell me where I said you were wrong. And where is this 'ample evidence' of yours? With the way you have conducted yourself in this thread, you aren't exactly inviting friendly debate, which is exactly why I refuse to do so. 'Solas fan girl' Thank you for taking a look through my profile. ;)
