Did anyone ever try this?
Can someone confirm salvaging Hakkon will increase the chance of getting another hakkon?

This. If you want some anecdotal stuff I salvaged my second weapon (sword) to get it again in ten runs. I know a friend who keeps salvaging his first until he gets a greatsword, I think he's at 4 or 5 attempts now. Still in the double digit nightmares runs for him.

I don't think it's confirmed, but it has been confirmed that the game checks your inventory when doing loot drop checks, so it makes logical sense.
