Theres an interesting dialogue with solas when you ask him for one of his journeys in the fade. I dont have the exact line but he says that he met a spirit that used to be the uncontested king of most known realms (maker?). Solas then asked the spirit/demon what type of emotion it represents and it says that it forgot but it clearly denies being pride or wrath though. That implies that there is one even stronger type of demon than pride and Im pretty sure thats what the fresco shows. Again a similar fresco also is in Solas' tower but there it's Illustration has the symbol of the Black City inside of it. So maybe the Black City is the seat of that thing.

After traveling through the Shattered Library, I felt I was walking in the Fade again, but in daylight. The gold statues, the rocks... it was just like the Fade in the main game. Since Arlathan fell when the Veil was created, I am more than sure now that the Fade has parts of the City in it, and other parts are stuck in limbo in the Crossroads. If the Veil is removed, it will merge everything again because the city only floated due to magic, so when it was gone, parts of it fell to ruin and most likely the Black City is the where the false Gods lived before they were sealed and most likely Blighted. If they are trapped and hurting, I wonder if Solas managed to trap them inside the Blight's taint deep inside behind a mirror as Cole said.

I'm actually leaning towards the Forgotten Ones being the ones trapped behind the mirrors. As I recall that conversation, Cole says that Solas thought he was helping them so he shouldn't feel guilty. Solas clearly despises the Evanuris, so I doubt he feels any guilt or desire to help them. Alternate possibility could be Elvhes that became trapped in the crossroads when the Veil was made. Actually that probably makes the most sense...

Oh yeah I always mix them up with the Forbidden Ones! Yes! That's a big possibility! I am starting to think the OG have the false God's trapped in them and with each death, we are releasing something not killing it. Solas said it was going to make it worse, and I wonder if we are undoing his work unknowingly?

I've always wondered if the authors of lore like DA just come up with an outline with zero details and wait til fans fill in the blanks with their theories and then pick from the most interesting theories to fill in the blanks in later games/books.

In some cases. The devs used to vehemently deny that Fiona was Alistair's mother when a bunch of us pointed it out on the forums shortly after the release of The Calling. Then they retconned, and stated publicly that she was. Frankly, I love it when devs adopt fan theories. It can help them flesh out the worlds they're creating with better continuity, and fans get to actually contribute. :)

The Forgotten ones are the Forbidden ones. Seeing as http://dragonage.wik.../wiki/Xebenkeckwas exiled by the other Enuvarius as mentioned in the library.

Because across millennia the Evanuris surely only ever exiled one group of people?

Geldauran et al clearly only became rebels when the Evanuris were already established as gods, while the Forbidden Ones were exiled for not helping in the conflict that elevated the Evanuris.

Well we don't know when the Forbidden Ones were exiled but that does seem to be the case, assuming a war between the Stone and the Elvhen it makes sense that the Forbidden Ones would have discarded their form and fled into the Fade where they couldn't be harmed.

Geldauran and the others don't sound anything like the Forbidden Ones at all though. They sound like extremists who took on the role of dark gods.

"There are no gods. There is only the subject and the object, the actor and the acted upon. Those with will to earn dominance over others gain title not by nature but by deed.

I am Geldauran, and I refuse those who would exert will upon me. Let Andruil's bow crack, let June's fire grow cold. Let them build temples and lure the faithful with promises. Their pride will consume them, and I, forgotten, will claim power of my own, apart from them until I strike in mastery."

Xebenkeck is not a Forgotten One, he is a Forbidden One. They are different groups. >.>

Well, The band of Three seem to think they were connected. Perhaps there were two groups.

It'd be kind of funny if Solas was responsible for the Blights too, tbh.

Pretty much everything bad to happen in the entire series would be his fault.

Meanwhile Tevinter gets blamed for everything: causing the Blights, creating the first Darkspawn and the Arch Demon, effecting the quickening of the elves and the loss of their immortality. I could easily see Solas behind all of this crap. I hope that DA 4 sets the record straight some. Tevinter may not be perfect - then again, neither is any nation in Dragon Age or the real world - but I don't think they are the big bad evil that the Chantry wants us to believe.

Solas was asleep during the first Blight and we have seen two of the Sidreal Magister, so I think ancient TI is at least partially on the hook for the Blights. They might be innocent of some of the stuff they have been accused of, but ancient TI were pretty much pure evil. I mean they did have a city created to punch a hole in the Veil by murdering 10% of the slaves that passed through its ports. You really can't defend that, although modern TI might be a smidge better (might).
