Am I the only one who feels alienated from the DA fanbase?

Upon watching the ending of Trespasser on Youtube, I'm suddenly struck with a deep sadness that I really just couldn't enjoy Inquisition, as hard as I tried.

And do you know why? Combat. Combat was HUGE in the first two games, it was the whole reason I even cared at all about the lore. I loved Origins and DA2 so much. Inquisition took that away from me.

Solas, you destroyed Thedas for me a year before this DLC was even released...

It absolutely disgusts me what the DA fanbase has become. Literally everyone shoots me down saying "I hated the combat in Origins, blah blah blah" what a joke. How can you even call yourself a DA fan if you hated the combat of the ORIGINAL DA GAME?!

All that Inquisition caters to is a bunch of squealing Cullen fangirls.

I couldn't care less about the combat in ANY of the games. It was literally a non-element to my enjoyment of the characters and story.

Cassandra can't even hold her shield up. The AI is literally that stupid. The only way Nightmare is even playable is if you use a Knight Enchanter or just constantly head back to supply caches for potions every 2 seconds.

I found the combat, and particularly the tactics, to be the weakest in the series. But as I enjoyed most everything else, and combat isn't the most important factor for me, I still enjoyed the game.

Then you are not interested in a game. You are interested in a story.

The #1 most important aspect to a GAME is GAMEPLAY.

I see someone enjoys yelling "No true Scotsman!".

I pushed through Origins' clunky combat because I enjoyed the story, world, and characters. The same thing I did with the original Mass Effect. If a game is interesting enough, I will tolerate poor combat to enjoy its other features.

OP better prepare himself for the impending wrath of the Cullenites. I don't think he realizes how many of them there are.

That's not what being a fan is. A fan can like something but also want aspects of it to be improved.

You'd be better off arguing the most important aspect of a game is interactivity, which RPGs have in their stories. Either way, your argument isn't very good.

Haha, for a split second I did a double-take because I thought that was my own screenshot

Spoiler
And you don't have to be a fangirl to appreciate Cullen.

You people are not playing a game. You are playing a cinematic experience pawned off as a game.

I'm pretty sure the major complaint in base DAI was the lack of the cinematic side DAO and DA2 had in fact.

A game is not combat either. There are complete genres of games that don't have combat in them.

Here's an argument for you! https://en.wikipedia...game_franchises

Nonsense.  The most important aspect to a game is that it provides us the opportunity to gripe about it on the internet.

Newsflash: This is a cinematic storytelling game. If you want gameplay with no story, there are plenty of alternatives.

I would never be part of a fanbase that would accept someone like me as a member.
