I think showing us our loot score and the maximum loot score (i.e., something like 500 / 10000) would be the best thing you could do without actually changing RNG.  I know there is probably reluctance in changing how RNG works at this late stage, so this just seems like low hanging fruit that would make everyone much happier - it's like a win-win.

 

You might also get more platinum sales from it too... as long as people see that their money isn't wasted (i.e., the loot score is going up), they may be inclined to spend more real money.
