So Weisshaupt was a fake-out?

In the epilogue it says Hawke hepeld Varric restore Kirkwall, yet nobody had heard back from Hawke or what was happening at Weisshaupt after the schism....

So they just brought Hawke back from the epilogue to Kirkwall without any mention as to why Weisshaupt had gone silent and what happened with the Grey Wardens.

The one who left to the Weisshaupt was Hawke's evil twin Eduardo - no wonder he ignores your RP and always says same words.

Yet another reason I feel like the epilogue slides take place in a long time, like after the next game. Most of them don't make much sense otherwise and leave a lot unexplained. I could be wrong though.

Epilogue Slide Shows are not canon unless stated so later in games.

The epilogue slides to Origins were just swept away... unless there are two Cullens, with one being all batsh*t crazy wanting to kill all mages and the other being the one we see in DA2 and so on.

I'm hoping the events at Weisshaupt will be addressed in the upcoming book.

It's too bad we didn't have a frothing anti-mage Cullen at our disposal depending on our choices, I mean just tweak a few lines and his whole pro-templar advice could take on an entirely different tone.

Maybe Hawke showed up and the wardens asked 'who are you?'
upon explaining he was Champion of Kirkwall, they then asked 'What's a Kirkwall and why should we care?'
Then Hawke left.

Perhaps our next character will be a warden again who sorts whatever is going on out.

Yeah, I know they have stated they're in-universe "hearsay", so I take them with about 90% salt and wait until the next game.

to be fair they did not say when hawke shows up to help verric out. so one can assume it was after he ends what ever is going on with the wardens.

I think Varric was being prophetic when he said that he expects Weisshapt to just blow up with Hawke walking away... maybe with a few High Dragons falling to their deaths atop the ruins of the Grey Warden HQ... and all the people at the tavern Hawke visits get food poisoning, except for Hawke... and then Hawke finds a cute kitten, and just before he is about to pet it as it happily skips to him, a giant hawk swoops in and snatches the kitten away.

Bad stuff just happens around him, his super hero codename should be Jinx... he can join Blackwall and The Iron Bull... they could fight crime... (loved that banter between Blackwall and IB, just ran into again recently).

The epilogues should be taken with salt, just be sure not be too salty. We have enough salt around as is, better to use some of that than add more to it. Not to mention the epilogues take place 'at some time' and not necessarily within the following month or so.

A lot of them seemed like years later. Which supports my idea that they're after the next game. Basically, they're mostly true, but we didn't tell you when they'll be true.

Or if they're simply never contradicted in the future. As we will likely never see or hear about Kirkwall again, it's a fair bet that the Varric/Hawke slide will just be the end of that story.

Unless Hawke dies in DA4 for some needed drama or something... still, Hawke will help Varric in spirit... or lyrium ghost... (in case people didn't notice, if Leliana dies in Origins, she basically becomes like the Aerith of Thedas... which I guess makes the Warden Sephiroth... sorta...)

Well, the opportunity for a dramatic death came and went with Into The Abyss, so there's not much good to come out of just making it happen anyway later, and likely off-screen.

Well, we know that Hawke's mentioned in his correspondence that Weisshaupt is "a special kind of mess", so my guess is that Varric's answer was "Get the **** out of here! Now! You know a horde of ßlighted-dragon-ridding rampaging Qunari pop up in the cellar if you stay longer here: come back home before bad **** happens to you Again!" and Hawke thought "Well, that's actually sound advice"

Didn't Hawke go there to just warn them about Corypheus and his power over the blight? I just assumed he went there, told them about it and left.

They are like sliding doors... "here's what would happen if the story ended now".

Assume they decided on second thoughts it would be easier removing Hawke from the Weisshaupt mess than dealing with intergrating him into whatever Weisshaupt plot they are planning for the books/games. I thought it was a strange decision in the first place, since they'd opened up a can of worms by letting some people kill off hawke whilst others would want closure of getting Hawke back to his loved ones and not in a weisshaupt mess.

Great intelligent, argument, THANKS!

I think the same. It's easy, but: Why not?

AND: look at this map: What is beside Tewinter: Andersfels with Weißhaupt. If the next DA4 plays in Tewinter, it could play in Tewinter AND Andersfels, like DA3 was in Orlais AND Ferelden. ;)

And then the Hero of Ferelden (cured, of course) comes back and is instantly like "WHAT THE F*CKING F*CK ARE YOU GUYS DOING HERE?!" and becomes the First Warden to sort the Order out. When that's done, they either remain to First Warden on, or say "Alright, f*ck the Order, I've stopped a Blight and found the cure for the Calling, and LIVED THROUGH ALL OF THAT. I'm done with you!"

Cue headcanons.

On the contrary, I'd LOVE to see the Warden in Weisshaupt. Maybe as that ever-quiet NPC that just stands there like a total badass, the finest of them all, and the best role-model for any Warden.

A careful glance at the map on the receiving end of the Inquisitors dagger in the closing scene of Trespasser clearly shows Weisshaupt just a mere tick away from Tevinter (and the knife currently impaling it on said map).

Perhaps, and only perhaps, the Wardens situation [and Hawkes participation] will be mentioned, addressed directly, or featured (even in a small way) during DA4??

Honestly, getting Hawke out of the way is probably sensible if they are planning to do stuff with the Wardens at Weisshaupt.

It's true that epilogues are prone to being ignored, but Bioware's writers must have some decent idea where they're going with DA4 by now
