Why wouldn't you logically choose the destroy ending?

Not possibly, absolutely. The two are different and the distinction is important when discussing the morality of the choice. Your second half is correct, though I find it interesting that you again roll all Synthetics into one species as opposed to recognizing several distinct Synthetic species.

As an organic, it is more difficult for me to distinguish between them. For instance, before the conclusion, I never considered the Husks.

But as far as terminology, I try and not get bogged in the semantics. Wiping out all those synthetics is abhorrent to me when Synthesis presents itself as another choice.

Why would you consider husks? They are basic robots with primitive VI programming. They are not sentient like the Geth or EDI.

Exactly why I did not consider them. But there they are at the end, becoming aware; becoming sentient, and ceasing hostilities.

Do they become sentient or do they become animal cyborgs? I didn't know Synthesis could make AI out of VI.

Without re-watching the vids, I seem to recall the Catalyst mention something about the Synthetics gaining understanding of organics. Perhaps this equates to awareness and intelligence.

I find that very hard to believe since we have a hard time trying understand one another on why people do whatever. I will chalk it up to crap that thing says so that Shepard can choose the green while still being charge of its toys

By picking that option it is setting the Geth up to be wiped out. Could be malevolent reasons why could be other reasons but the fact still is the choice leads directly to the death of the entire Geth race by his actions.

That is true, but your car brakes analogy is, as usual, not appropriate for the situation. We are not disputing that Shepard is responsible for the destruction of the Geth if he picks Destroy.

Are they sentient or brain dead like the Salarians in that cell on Virmire? We see the Reapers rebuilding things but none of the Husk type creatures.

They are aware enough to cease fighting, so better than the mindless Salarians at least. But all we can do at this point is conjecture on their future; prefer to focus more on their illustrated improvements.

Ahem, those that were firing were indoctrinated but not mindless. A group of mindless salarians were in the cage and they didn't attack at all. My Shepard put them out of their misery.

But they are trying to shift it away from what it really is. Genocide of the Geth race. Sacrificing Synthetic life for organic life.

The Salarian doc made it out safely, as did Eve and the others with her. Shall never know....

That doesn't show awareness. It only shows a lack of aggression.

No s/he didn't. They died in the boom.

Rana Thanoptis, the female Asari; my bad. She made it out, as did the female Krogans.

They were the ones rescued by the Salarian STG forces that appeared in ME3, including Eve.

EDit: That could be from the lab on Tchuanka; cannot recall.

It sure looks to me like the husk --- ex-husk? -- is perceiving the human soldier.

Yep the husk literally stops attacking and helps the person to their feet so yes they're definitely aware.

It doesn't help the person to their feet, don't confuse it with other endings. The husk just stares there sitting on its knees.

Yes, it perceives them to attack them. After it stops attacking, who knows? It probably still sees them but does it know or think anything?

No, it literally stops attacking and sits there doing nothing. They all just stare at... something, perhaps the Reapers leaving or the greenish shimmer that's floating in the air.
