Earlier, to finish 2 nearly complete challenges, I was playing as a collector with the Valkyrie which had synergy issues.
the Valkyrie I had a scope on, so I could land both shots on the head, but the scope makes is become a mid to long range sniping weapon.
the the collector was built to cqc with dark sphere in narrow hallways, detonating with swarms.
Low and behold, the character didn't do great.

Have you discovered an absolutely terrible character combination? Maybe like me, you were completing challenges, or maybe you used that site with random character/weapon/map generator (link anybody?)
Or have you found a good build using a weapon you would never of used?

I used a tsol raptor once. It was very good, solid dps. But my fingers were aching by the end. :/

If it doesn't tote around a Claymoar it's the worst build ever

Especially in the case of a QFE who finds herself trying to clutch later Cerberus waves with nothing but an Eagle. Worst random combo I can remember trying before succumbing to the glorious pull of the High Lord.

I played once a novaguard with Spitfire in a UUP game (which became White / Geth). It's the worst combination I can remember about. Between the movement speed penalty, the atrocious cooldown of Charge and the Geth stagger fest, it was impossible to play this character the way he is supposed to be. I ended mainly shooting, using Charge to restore my shields and Nova through walls.

Banshees :D.

(maybe engineer tbh, could have been phantoms if they werent coming by trio each time)

Try to remember I don't take myself all that seriously, you shouldn't either.

And I've seen plenty of your work on the YouTubez, you seem to manage just fine without the Claymoar.

Well the water rifle (geth rifle) is surprisingly good on the awesome geth engineer (with incendiary ammo). And there's a classic : turian soldier with the tempest (but that's cheating as the tempest is a good weapon), and I wouldn't put the phaston on anything else than him. I hate the striker but surprisingly I love the stagger-stroyer with the sriker.

And something that is worth trying is the collector sniper rifle on a FQI as it will benefit extremeley well from 1) the incendiary ammo-tech vulnerability combo 2) The sniper bonus on the cloak.

It's hard to say, when one's a scrub like myself many rather decent builds turn out to be very bad ideas. But one experience stands out in recent memory:

Drell adept with the Widow on Glacier from the Accurate Intel duo challenge. That was just all shades of wrong. Widow has this slooow reload cycle and I kept reload-canceling too early, the recharge on Reave was completely out of sync with it, and throwing grenades while sniping just didn't compute. It was so bad that even my legendary lousy aim didn't make much of a contribution to overall fail.

Now, I've no doubt (and it's been repeatedly proven) that this build can be played with deadly effectiveness, but for me it was just the most awful thing ever.

123k. Not bad. Pull was not used at all. Quite different play style to my acolyte pull reave build.

In a Silver game a couple of weeks ago, I encountered an N7 Shadow packing a Spitfire.  A nimble, acrobatic character was reduced to moving as if she were wading through treacle.

I would think Spitfire I Fury with a spec out of Annihilation Field would be about the worst thing I can think of.

I'm pretty sure I've seen that setup on ps3 before. In fact I'm positive because you just don't forget something like that

As long as it added the omni-blade for extra weight, then I'd allow it. Otherwise, airlock.

Don't know how this guy specced his novaguard, but he managed to charge once or twice a wave. Spent most of his time down on the floor, though.

Since I'm on PS3 as well, it was probably the same person.  There can't be two people who'd do that, surely?

Actually a Spitfire fury is quite good ! (but you have to take the anhilation field for the bonus speed). It has a high dps with warp rounds. here is a video that I recorded with the typhoon (it's basically the same)
