I'd like to know what your requests are for Dragon Age 4- not in terms of story, necessarily, but in terms of features.

For instance:

  • I would like to see the search functionality (on a console) changed- it was unnecessarily hard on my controller, and my husband has forbidden me to break another controller in the search for elfroot.
  • I also think the toggled ability upgrades should stay, as well as trials. I'm not fussy if those come in a DLC or are with base game. I'll pay for it if they want to make me pay for it.
  • I loved crafting in this game. I want dyes available at start of game, along with a larger selection of fabrics, colors, and metals.
  • I don't even need to get into hair. It's obvious we all want better hair and a bigger selection. I think I'd like more colors, as well. If I can make my eyes green and purple I should be able to do the same for my hair.

I said it in another thread, and don't know whether it's a feature or something more related to the story, but I'd love to see the Friendship/Rivalry mechanic return.

My post from a thread similar to this:

Like others have said, more cutscenes, they immerse you in whats going on.

Better tactics, DAI's left much to be desired.

If they have lots of big maps again then I'd like each map to have a plotline, much like how each planet in Star Wars The Old Republic had its own plotline separate from the main quest.

Edit: And better hairstlyes and hair quality, its disconcerting when the environment and characters faces are so much better quality then whats on their heads.

I'd like to add

- Better lighting in the character creator. All the games have had this problem, the character should be lit up the same way she is most game, not lit like they're in a darkened cave.

- If they cameo a prev. protagonist again, then I want control of their dialogue.

If there is another war table...please , please can we get one like in Descent?

A war table in each big map?

Because seriously two loading screens to use the table wasn't all that fun.

Would be fun if Two Handed Warriors could use spear, and "Archer" Rogues javelins.

I'm super pro warriors having a ranged weapon. I've been missing it since origins.

I never play warriors but what kind of ranged weapon would a warrior use?

Something you throw and then have to go get? I mean, I get it. I'm just wondering how the in-game mechanics would work.

Don't think it would work with spear. Spears are mainly melee weapons, sure you could throw it, but you'd also have retrieve it each time. Unless you want to carry a buttload of them. In that case javelin is the way to go.

Sorry to be so technical :P

Crossbows. If Varric is not brought back, I want crossbows.

Also remove the stupid loot/harvest animation, it's only three seconds, but three seconds a piece over the course of a 100+hour game becomes tedious

Spears, thrown axes, thrown hammers, that sort of thing.

If you watched The Fellowship of the Ring, a thrown shield...

I'm more interested in DW warriors, though, but it should be a separate skill set, not shared with DW rogues. The skills would be mostly defensive:

- parry, as per the DW rogue ability

- "disarm" halves incoming damage for a short period of time

- sunder negates armor bonus for a short period

- "knockdown" would be the equivalent of hooking the off-hand weapon around the opponents legs and pulling them out from under him

I'd also like to see the return of some form of friendship/rivalry system.

Crafting was great, especially with the Trespasser additions, but we need a wider range of colors and/or patterns.

(Regarding the "harvest" animation, if you have Trespasser, the "harvest" animation is reduced to about a second. It's a lot more tolerable.)

It would also be cool if they'd change the Dual Dagger Rogue to sword and dagger. Or at least have the option for it.

I think we turned this thread into a weapon thread, sorry Avejajed :P

Advanced tactics coming back

More then 8 abilities that are useable

Banter that plays more often

Ability to mod the game (it made Origins so refreshing) - And to follow up on that, have the DLC give you items in the base game. Origins was cool, you'd complete Leliana's song and then got that awesome rogue armor in your base game.

Please no. If DAI did anything right, it was the approval system. They just needed to show it in a menu and not having to use a save editor to check up on it.

Yeah, I really liked the war table but having it behind two loading screens was very annoying.

I wouldn't be against it, but that mechanism would need to be better implemented. I'd like to see a system where assent and fondness are not mixed together within the same slider: something more like this:

Like others have said, more cutscenes, they immerse you in whats going on.

More than cutscenes, a better main quests/side quests ratio. It still baffles me that the Emerald Graves, the Exalted Plains, and 90% of the Western Approach were given the optional content treatment instead of being included in the mandatory parts of the game

You know what kind of characters would work with a throwing spear?

Arcane Warriors.

Have them use Spears normally in close quarter combat, but give them a non elemental long range attack/Harpoon skill: the Arcane Warrior throws the spear, then "call" it back, dragging the impaled foe alongside.

Friendship/Rivalry - I hate to play a complete mad man or liar in order to get all the companion-related content. So there will be no stupid "my favourite colour is yeallow and if you dont like yellow I'm leaving"

Companions Involvement - I would like companions to matter, like in DA2 there, for example, Anders could heal Bartrand or make Hawke twin a Grey Warden. That adds some importance to characters and they become real people rather than just random stuff around you

Loot - the ability to harvest from wider range like it was in previous games. The worst it was with ladders, sometimes I had to spend several minutes just to find proper position

No open world - I would better spend time in smaller, but better organised territories, more towns to visit like Denerim or Kirkwall instead of just sand and... more sand

Territories interconnected with the gameplay - most of the territories were there for nothing but it would be cool if each had a quest which is tight to the main plot. So that there is a real reason for us to discover all these plains and wastes and graves and whatever

Role-playing - I know its hard, but I would like to see more race-related phrases and so on. Sometimes I just do not know how to react on my elf-inquisitor asking Morrigan "What is temple of Mythal" like she has no idea of what Mythal is. And maybe more response variants, there were lot of times I just could not find a proper replic

Crafting - possibility to modify weapons and armor which is equipped by companions without the need to take if off

I would still love any Dragon Age game, cause its Dragon age! but with all that it would be ideal=)

Edit:

Healers!!

Expanding the CC will always be nice.

Re add ability to assign attributes on level up, preferable with also adding it via crafting as well.  (could you imagine all the role playing potential with THAT).

It has been mentioned but most importantly of all each zone has to connect to the main plot.  If they could add that to the already amazing formulae that was Inquisition, that would be epic indeed.

Also more interactivity from the enemy/ world.  Have it feel like they are actually acting and reacting to you instead of just sitting there.  Something like a system in Far Cry or Civilization might work where you could get random attacks on your bases and camps and have to react or risk loosing them.

If we play another organization incorporate risk/ reward into its 'war table' where you have resources, and you can lose them if you mismanage them by sending them on missions.

Eyebrow colour separate from hair again, better CC lighting as always, face codes or something similar, a better end quest/boss battle in which all companions are used, less mundane side quests and a better party banter system like seriously I don't wanna have to change the way I play just to hear some banter. Also a big interesting city or two to explore would be great.

Get rid of schematic tiers. Schematic tiers almost defeat the point of crafting.
Don't make found gear totally crap compared to crafting
Get rid of node harvesting, it's boring as hell.
Less/no open world
Bring back healing, give Barriers a total revamp
Bring back DA2 style tactics
Companions more relevant to the story as it's happening
Free nugs for all
