In the final conversation concerning Corypheus, IIRC, Solas remarks about what Corypheus did to "body hop" to another creature with the taint somehow is the secret to Immortality.
That was...surprising.

Effective immortality. I did not take it to mean the only form of immortality. However, there are echoes from Flemeth and Morrigan's tale. Bread crumbs.
Though these bread crumbs certainly provide source for conjecture or theory. The Wardens can kill an archdemon but had to seal Corypheus away, this echoes Solas and the Old Gods.
Why are echoes of the Old Gods in archdemons anyway?
(last echo used differently)
"Effective immortality". I doubt that's how it worked with ancient elves.

Agreed, Solas tells the Inquisitor so early on... that the elven immortality was just part of who they were, not the result of some industrious spell research.

Solas shares the exact facial features with the elves at the temple.
Corypheus could have used spell research to investigate elven immortality and copy or create smth similar
The point is: Flemeth prolong her life by posessing different bodies
And Solas looks different from the way ancient elves look like. Elves at the temple of Mythal were taller, so i believe this is not the initial body of Fen'Harel
And if Old gods are really evanuris so thats why archdemons have this ability-part of their old nature
It is his body. You can find a self portrait of him which is a wolf and a bald mage (it's one of the four clues needed to unlock a dialog option)
Unless he prefers bald elves, it's the same body.

No, Solas says it himself in Trespasser he has not changed except in name. Plus, in his last outfit he looks pretty much like the elves in the Temple of Mythal. I wouldn't read too much into body height. We don't know who the Old Gods are yet, or how they fit into the picture, but yes there are spells for body-swapping and extending life... but the elves didn't need them. Flemeth is clearly not an elf, and houses what's left of Mythal. There are many many thousands of lost years in which magic and what could be done with it has had a chance to evolve and be created to fit certain situations and certain species (the humans and dwarves...).

Yeah, the body swapping thing appears to be a method of immortality, essentially a trick, but not the reasons elves in general were immortal. Considering it now appears that elves were originally spirits that could manifest themselves physically, that would explain a lot right there. Spirits are timeless, like the Fade, they don't age, won't die of old age. They can be killed, however, just as the elves could be.
I thought the Forgotten Ones - Xerxenbeck and other elven gods - who were condemned because they didn't help the People in their time of need (according to a Codex in the library of Arlathan) were the imprisoned dragons that become Archdemons, and not the Elven gods.
The Evanuris are trapped inside the Fade. There's no correlation between them and the Archdemons, I believe.

What are these clues? Just out of curiosity.

Ma Siranas. Much obliged. ![]()
The "effective" sounds like distain. Solas isnt exactly saying he was truly immortal.
Addressing height here, according to game code Solas is 6 feet tall.Corypheus could have used spell research to investigate elven immortality and copy or create smth similar
