Yeah next time I want my fem shep to be able to bang two or three asari at once.
Oh man that would be neat.....I always felt so sad I couldn't visit the Azure on Illium in a more relaxed situation.

So.. Garrus.
Only in ME1, developers did their own thing in ME2 with him.
how about an abusive relationship? It would be an interesting plotline
Dysfunctional love/hate relationships are tied with tragic 'mances as my fave romances in fiction, so yes please.
I think otherwise romances were fine, but Jacob's cheating could have been cut out and generally there wasn't lot of content for straight female PC romance-wise in ME3 cause Thane died and Jacob cheated so you pretty much only had Kaidan and Garrus. I find Kaidan bit boring myself, but many like his romance so I guess it was good call. And overall we had Garrus so this aren't that bad ^^
I'm blaming it on the change in writers. Like the one guy who actually says he loves you pulls a 180 and knocks up some sidechick while you're away? And the only thing I didn't like about him -apart from the atrocious lines Femshep had to deliver to even court him - was that wonderfully cheesy line in his romance scene.
No because obviously all Bioware wants is decline in quality, didn't you get the memo ?
And because romances are something evil forum goers force the developpers to make, developpers will purposefuly sabotage them out of spite because they secretely hate romances.
Best fem/fem.
Ugh really?
Female protagonists had the better romance choices in DA:I in both quantity and quality. Straight male players had Cassandra and Jose, while straight female players had Cullen, Blackwall, Solas and Iron Bull. Three of those people were the best romances the game had to offer.
I think it's safe to say female players shouldn't have anything to complain about right now.
No thats Jack your talking about.
Jack is more angry than whiny, but what I said still applies to Anakin.

"Better" is always a matter of taste. Of course not every romance option is for everyone.
I loved Cass. She was a great romance, and a great character. She appealed more to me than the romance options for my own gender and I romanced her on my 2nd playthrough.
But FemShep could potentially end up with no straight romance at all in ME3.
I've been down with the idea of a male quarian LI. Preferably he swings both ways.
Hugo Weaving's voice pls. ![]()

Love interest for females in ME4? Let me say it with a song:
![]()
I mean: I'm a female hero in ME4 (hope so). A a.ss kicking, fighting machine. A man by my side have to be nothing less.
I would love a .... more or less normal human straight man. Without any tentacles ....
Yes, it's a bit boring ... ![]()
Hayden Christensen looks like one of my sons ... Jesus, I could NEVER romance somebody like him. ![]()
PS: Hihihihi... could I please have Wolverine? ![]()
I was more than happy with Kaidan and Garrus. I love both to bits. Thane was also awesome but what BW did to him... *sigh*
I definitely wouldn't want anyone like Anakin in MEA. I love Star Wars but I can barely watch those movies that have Hayden Christensen in them. He is appalling in everyway.
Kaidan was the least dramatic of all the love interests arguably. He told you about his past, but he dealt with it right so.
Jacob needs you to go find out about his dad, Thane is dying, and you can't romance James unless I missed something in Citadel.
And you're putting down the Kaidan romance but asking for a "former Bounty Hunter romance with a trouble/sad past" ......?
In typical man-style: "Women, eh!"
Actually, I do sympathise with the romances for the females, I think they got the short end of the stick with Jacob and I can see why Kaiden isn't particularly alluring... Wasn't Garrus the most popular? I found it amusing, most guys loved him as a bromance, most girls loved him as well, in real life he's that guy who does everything smoothly and pulls the chick (in complete contrast to his life in the game) so really we blokes should be hating on him, but fortunately our Shepard is just as cool as Garrus ever is.
But again, there's a very clear lack of fem-male romances there that are human I suppose. I wonder if it was a conscious design decision? Did someone at Bioware reason that women were more accepting of inter-species/alien romances and men would be put off more? Did that happen to be the results of the focus group? Ah well.

Well overall there was Thane and Garrus for straight female PC and Tali and Liara for straight male PC, I think straight male PC just had some more options in general so that's why they got more humans compared to (straight) female character.
And one reason can be that there wasn't female models of many alien races until ME3 or it's DLC's so those who did have models were LI's already (Asari and Quarian).
You're right, Anakin is worse.
What? It's romantic! in a sweet... cheesy way.

Jumper was a pretty good film.
My only criteria is "make him/her an interesting character." I watched the other day a youtube video about a romance mod for female players in Skyrim and it was the worst thing ever, like those trashy romance novel covers with long haired shirtless Pedros and Giuseppes. My perfect LI would be someone like Shepard, actually. A good & balanced mix of muscles, humor and charm, nothing too overboard because it starts to look like a caricature. I loved Thane, but sometimes it was a bit too melodramatic for me.
It was a bit weird though how many times Femshep got the short end of the stick. Like with Jacob impregnating someone else, Thane dying or Shepard unsuccessfully flirting with Joker and Vega. As far as I know, Maleshep doesn't get something similar, or?
You're right, Anakin is worse.
Anakin's a dI##
And a creep

And yet, we can still retain the option not to agree with you. Not everyone likes playing elves ever, which takes the options for them down to three, and a lot of people don't even like playing humans when there are options like Dwarves and Qunari available, further narrowing the options to two.
Of course, the matter of which romances were best is entirely one of opinion. I, for example, think Cassandra's was the best narratively integrated.
All that said, DA is not ME, and male LIs are still historically fewer than females in Bioware games. So while that isn't necessarily cause to complain, we might just go ahead and keep making requests for the future without much concern for how much other people believe we're entitled to do so.

Considering the facts remain that straight female protagonists had twice as many romance options as straight males did in DA:I, it is bothersome to me that this thread exists. I understand Mass Effect's were lacking for female players, but that was then. You can be rest assured that since they're starting with a clean slate, you'll get your male romances. They're not gonna screw you ladies over, especially considering that the romance fanbase, is this 800lbs Gorilla in the writing room over at Bioware.
They know. There's a new romance thread almost every day to remind them, and plenty of people complained about how Jacob and Thane were handled. I'm way more concerned these days about the quality of their actual games.
I'm quite fed up of thread like these where every one is lobbying for his/her share of romances, indirectly asking to have his/her preferences catered at the expence of others. Is this the Congress? Everyone seems to be lobbying for his own interests. I would be fine to be honest if they get rid of the romances altogether so this chore threads wouldn't repeat itself over and over and over.
P.S: Originally I wasn't against romances...but clearly this feature is getting out of control if not even by considering the amount of threads asking for better romances....and cosidering that these threads are generally the most debated. I'm seriously thinking plot and gameplay should be BW 1st priority and not catering to our sexual preferences. There are other places for that.

I'm 100% with you on that. The writers at Bioware should just completely destroy all precedents and expectations by not doing romances at least once. Wipe the slate clean. I don't think they should abandon romances forever, in fact it would sadden me if they did, but they clearly have higher priorities, and fans treat Romance options as nothing but a diversity quota that Bioware needs to fill.
The novelty of being able to have sex with one of your party members has worn off, at least me. At first it was like "Wow! I can have my character fall in love with one of the party members? That's cool!" But nowadays it's all about "We need more gay romances. We need transgendered romances. We need a salarian romance. We need more straight male romances this time." Since when did Bioware become people's virtual pimp? It''s gotten out of hand. I can't for the life of me imagine the writers appreciate this.
There's a reason David Gaider wasn't exactly subtle that one time when he expressed his annoyance over romance options.
