LIES!!
LIES!!
He actually just bit Solas on the arse.
Not lies, just a story the Dalish got hilariously wrong.
Although maybe a dog did bite Solas on the ass once. Do the minds of mabari enter the Fade?
Is that Hawke an elf?

So is Carver! ![]()
There are several mods that turn Hawke and Family into Elves, yes.
Hehe...
No. The Dalish got that wrong. In a sense, he destroyed them. And yes, they do remember him destroying their world correctly. 'Tis the motivations that have been forgotten...
And now I fear nothing can save him. And he will have to die alone.
The Dalish are wrong about their entire history. No surprise here.
Merril's so retarded and it's kind of amusing really.
Merrill cleansed a shard of the darkspawn taint. She constructed an Eluvian from lore she studied and information she extrapolated from the shard. She can discern whether someone is possessed through their blood. She's proficient in using magic, and can distinguish the nature of the Profane Abomination on sight. Merrill spends post-Dragon Age II being a leader to the disenfranchised elves left homeless due to the war. I'm seeing a pretty intelligent and capable person.
Merrill is also one of the people who point out that the Dalish don't know certain things - who started the war between the Creators and the Forgotten Ones, whether humans or ancient elves summoned Audacity during the battle at Sundermount - and she was a pro-Dalish perspective that's unfortunately omitted in Inquisition while we have a sea of pro-Andrastian voices (save only for the elven protagonist, and even that is up to the player).
And, I would like to point out, one of the only people we have seen to consistently use blood magic over a period of years without going completely coo-coo for cocoa puffs.
Pro-"Dalish" is not the same thing as pro-Andrastian. The Dalish aren't a faith - they're a culture. To be pro-"Dalish " is like being pro-"Orlesian" or "Qunari".

probably because she does not draw on it excessively over short periods of time. Everyone who goes bat **** seem to use a crap ton of blood magic over short periods of time.

I think they are already bat**** before they start to use blood magic personally.
Gaspard and Sten are two examples, actually. But this diversion in semantics has little to do with my actual point.
Propaganda possibly from those faithful to the Evanuris before the fall and in light of what we learned looking at this again it is riddled with metaphor. Mabari perceptive guarding against pride/ tricks. Take the Dread wolf by the ear, caution. Though the actual Mabari takes the Dread wolf by the tail, surprise.
There's more but it doesn't matter, the Dalish remembered only fragments. Curiously it poses an important question: If followers of Mythal could make it into this time of Dragon age could there also be agents of the Evanuris that Solas does not know about? I wonder about this Gisharel. I would be a child to give more weight to the harel part of his name but something keeps drawing me back, I wish I knew what his name means.
